Great food selections in each department. Clean and safe environment.Best of all, Kyle who checked me out was patient, kind, and capable. It was a busy night with everyone rushing to buy before the hurricane.Kyle was efficient and positive.Thank you, management for hiring Kyle.

It's a Shaw's. What else is there to say? The selection is average but there is consistently not enough registers open. The photo is from 4:30pm on a Sunday. There is 2 registers open plus a an express lane. Go to Hannaford in Yarmouth if you want a better selection and faster checkout.

The Rockland store needs an update, shabby and dated. Not great selection as Shaw’s Downeast has.Update 11/23: Wow, someone is listening. Store is being updated, more and better selections, staff is super friendly and helpful. It’s almost all new.

The location didn’t honor prices on items, general condition of store is dirtier than most food stores.

The location is convenient, but I believe that to be the one and only positive detail I can share about this Shaws. For starters, the store is always grossly understaffed with not nearly enough registers open. The wait time for the checkout lines run, on average, about 7-10 minutes. I would love to see an addition of self-checkouts for people like me who are often dashing in for a small basket of items.Secondly, I've also noticed that several of my go-to shelf products haven't been restocked at all this summer, and what remains is old and stale. I've found various purchases of mine to be stale at least a minimum of 3-4 times over the past couple of months. At any rate, I'm going to start visiting other grocery stores in the region because it simply isn't getting better. Management really needs to overhaul how this location is operated.

Handy to get to and plenty of parking spots. Typical Shaws Supermarket. They have what you expect a "supermarket " to have. They have a pharmacy within the store too. My only concerns have to do with their customer service and the employee's attitudes. I'm from "away" and I get the impression that every thing is a bother and I'm a fault for not knowing "their" way of doing things.

This is the most poorly managed grocery store I have ever shopped at. Dairy items are often past sell date or close. Insufficient cashiers especially at normally busy times. A couple of cashiers are downright unpleasant. Today, Saturday, at 2:30 in the afternoon, many aisles were completely empty of products...no canned fruit, no ethnic products; many aisles were mismarked. It seemed that the store was being completely redone but there were no warnings or explanations about the missing items. It seemed that disruption of this magnitude should have been done overnight or when the store was closed. I didn't see anyone in the process of re-stocking so I, along with my fellow shoppers, were completely confused and many just gave up and left.I have been a loyal shopper here for years but today was the last straw. I will drive the extra miles to another town to shop at Hannaford.

DEAR LORD. Hire more people. I’ve been waiting in line for 15 minutes and there are still five people ahead of me. This is absolutely ridiculous that you don’t have self checkout and couldn’t possibly be bothered to pay employees enough to work here. Why is there one lane open on a Sunday night when that is the busiest time of the week for shopping?! The old woman should not be on the register or needs to be retrained. She scans everything so slowly and stops in between each item. It should not take 30+ minutes to check out.

With lots of unnecessary open space, their selection seems to be intentionally relatively small compared to most supermarkets and others in the area. The produce quality is usually pretty good.

Doesn't even deserve the one star. Incompetent management, all of whom treat their employees horribly. I'd suggest taking your business elsewhere if possible.

It's not easy being in retail as of late, and I don't believe it's easy for the good people of Shaw's in Freeport to meet the demands of the day. Simply put, they do their best, which is pretty doggone good. Whenever I ask for a special cut from the meat department, I get a response of, "you bet!" Most everyone there will jump through hoops to meet your request. Put on your best smile, say please and ask for what you want. The people of Shaw's in Freeport will do their best to give you what you want!

Thr young blonde woman at checkout denied my perfectly valid state I.D for an alcahol purchase. So I cussed her out , went outside did a loop , grabbed a different bottle and checked out at customer service no problem , then walked by her with a smile on my face holding the bottle and recipt so she could see it.. Moral of the story is. make sure your cashiers know what an I.D is before letting them run the register

No major complaints with recent trips to this location, other than an apparent need for more cashiers. I stopped in to grab one item, and waited behind someone with at least 30 items going through the express lane.

So…where did the gluten free section go? I was very pleased with the gf section this Shaw’s had but recently I have struggled to find gf items. As someone that has a strict gf diet, it is much easier to have a strictly gf isle or section rather than looking through every isle. Not even the tags are marked gf!! At least mark the tags, like come on Shaw’s. Not only does a section or marked tags make it easier for us gf folks to find our food, it’s also good to show the NEW items that are now gf. I don’t want to spend the day trying to find the fine gf logo or lettering on each item in the store. Do better!!

Just went to Shaws to get some groceries. There were know carts to grab when we went in the store. Also the store was not busy at all. shelves were picked over and some of the doors on the cold food refrigerators were missing. and then when we went to check out our bagger just threw our food in are bags and our tomatoes, were getting squashed and our bags were obnoxiously heavy sorry to write this review, but that’s what happened ☹️ how does this business even function Hannaford from now on

Greatest Customer Service!!!! I came to get a Western Union Payment. Well I was not able to get it. But, the nice lady, and outstanding manager handled me with kid gloves. I was somewhat frustrated more at the sender. But, the Manager calmly explained it thoroughly. I apologized and thanked them for my not understanding. They really were great! Again I really appreciate them both. Outstanding, Superior, Customer Service.

Here is something you don't think about...till you need it. In the parking lot another driver backed into my car door He attempted to blame me. We exchanged info but then when i heard from his insurance company that it was my fault I was mad! However, Shaw's has cameras in the parking lot and they captured the video! Falmouth police requested the video I sent the clip to this guys insurance company and, voila, they covered everything to fix it. Thank you Shaws I will only shop there now. Saved me thousands.

Your men's room toilet is disgusting. Someone should clean it once in awhile. I'm a single male and my toilet looks better than this. At least leave cleaning supplies in here so someone can actually clean the seat before they have to use it.

The absolute worst grocery store. Save time and probably money and go to bow st or Hannaford down the road in yarmouth.Especially to avoid the awful customer service.

This is a huge and well stocked supermarket with easy access right off route 1. Store is well stocked with bakery, fresh produce, seafood, and meats as well as flowers, seasonal items, and household supplies. Prices are competitive with other local stores. If spending time in Freeport this is a must stop.

I realize there is a shortage of workers, but when I was there recently there were only two registers open and long lines at both. Quite the wait to just get four apples. Hope they can hire more help soon

They do not care how badly their baggers bag your groceries.Update: 4 months later, still horrible bagging. Seriously. They should just put everything back in a cart and let us bag it ourselves. That's we end up having to do anyway. I can't be the only one.

Great grocery store. Has fresh produce, great selection of food and is competitively priced. I wished they didn't close their seafood section up so early but when it's open it's has a good selection. Perfect for groceries in and around Freeport.

Some of the worst customer service i have ever experienced. Checkout cashier refused to give me a bag after asking for one, amd as a result, i lost half my food after walking out the door, which busted open and scattered all over the ground. I will never shop there ever again. Hannafords or bow street market only from now on.

Prices OK, convenient location for anyone in South Freeport (also close to I95 exit/entrance), but after two trips here for various things I've had trouble finding basic items like bread (in an unlabeled aisle at the very far corner) or green onions, which I was finally told they just didn't have. The sparse signage seems like something that wouldn't be too difficult for them to address.

Great little grocery store in Freeport. I stocked up here to have food at snacks at the hotel. The prices were decent and the selection was good.

This is a great local grocery store. They are conveniently located right off exit 20 on 295. They have all of the amenities, butcher, Deli, produce, Bakery and pharmacy. A nice thing that Shaws does is that they offer discounted items towards the back of the store. There is both a bakery section and a meat section. The only negative thing that I could say is that their produce tends to be a bit pricey and perhaps not quite as fresh as other grocery stores. However, with that being said we do shop here quite often. The kids love the little games that they offer like Monopoly. They have a full service customer service section, public bathrooms and a large section to return bottles on the front left part of the store. We shop here often and will continue to do so and encourage others to do so as well.
