This is one of the best supermarkets in the area. Conveniently located near other shopping. I can rely on fresh vegetables, fish, meat and poultry. They also have some great specials for food that is coming near 'sell by' dates (not a problem if I am planning on eating sometime in the next few days). While I don't shop here for customer service, there are a few employees who are very friendly and helpful.Prices are average, not sure what people expect from a grocery store, but quality is comparable to prices in most cases.

Two elderly ladies, one cashier, one customer, the customer has a lot of groceries to bag, so they both bag,... 3 senior employees, standing around, like roadside crew, chatting it up, not offering to chip in the bagging, one of them, stared me down, could have been bagging. A whole minute,... STARED ME DOWN INSTEAD IF HELPING THE OLD CASHIER. Your "senior management woman", black round glasses.

This is a far nicer location than the few other remaining Shaw's in the state. Good produce and meat selection. If you stick with what's on sale, it's worthwhile. Otherwise, you can pretty much expect a minimum 20% higher price than at stores like Hannaford or the Basket of Markets. This store could absolutely use more self checkouts, there's almost always a line for them, and there's usually only one or two registers with cashiers open. But overall, it fulfills my deep yearning for a place to purchase groceries in an exceptionally wealthy town.

Obvious reasons,... clean, with reasonable prices, and great variety. Short drive from home. Sales on different items each week, Staff knowable on locations of items in store, plenty of parking spots, you do not need to return emptied cart to inside of store. Spaced out in parking lot are places to leave emptied carts.

For the second Wednesday in a row there was NO manned checkouts open and only the self check outs open with one employee watching over it at 10:45 A.M- Last week I called corporate to complain and was told it would be rectified - It is NOT - Like last week I was about to leave my full cart in the isle and leave to go to a nearby Hannaford's as were about a dozen other folks After 15 minutes of contemplating and chatting with other irate folks who were considering leaving a girl did come and open a register but was obviously less than pleased - Shaw's had been a great place to shop until recently and in mu opinion is now a rock bottom - Sadly it is time to shop Hannaford's who has staffing, far superior meat and deli departments - VERY sad!

Edit, another two years later. Just went in for a bulky waste tag. Couldn’t be bothered to sell it since their customer service center was close. They Remain the worst grocery stores in the state.Edit, 3 years later: the employees here are horrible. Horrible attitude, perhaps from years of understaffing by management. Removing a star. I'll go out of my way to go to Hannaford in West Falmouth or Market Basket. Shaws isn't even viable competition. Also their "grand reopening" they had in November of 2020 seems to just be new floor tiles as the old ones were gross.... wow congrats. That surely will save your business from the much better organized stores with friendlier employees like Market Basket and Whole Foods.Dan Soley's review is spot on. Ditto to everything he said. Start from scratch on your business model shaw's, or go out of business.OLD:One person for four express checkout lanes on a busy Saturday at 6 PM is obvious under staffing. 15 minutes to checkout. Get self checkout! The staff that was there were friendly. They are not to blame.

Great selection of new seasonal items. Well stocked. They are one a few places to carry Coconut Creamer.

I dont appreciate a "Bait and switch" sales tactic.. if your cherries are CLEARLY MARKED for $1.97 per pound, then thats what I expect to pay. I go to cash out and it rings up as $3.99 per lb.. when I get an associate over to question it, I am told that it is only with an online coupon.. perhaps your company should take better initiative at disclosing that at the cherries instead of trying to trick people who may not be paying attention when they are buying a lot of groceries all at once and believing that THEY are only paying $1.97 per lb AS IT IS LABELED... That is trickery, that is dishonesty and this store should be ashamed of not being totally honest with its prices.

Not a fan of this store because of set up, long lines, and staff that clearly are unhappy but...today I had great service! I still had a long wait but Hunter was so pleasant, apologetic for the wait and kept his cool while being pulled in several different directions to handle issues with self checkout. It is so rare these days to find an employee that is willing to go the extra mile without being asked! It is also rare for an employee to be recognized for this and I hope that management sees this post and does just that! Good job Hunter!

The parking lot has some serious pot holes to be aware of and if it is your first time the aisle lay out is not the easiest. They are usually pretty well stocked and their drive up and go is convenient. Their produce section is usually some of the best as well.

As I was shopping, with my own bag I brought in, I was putting my items in said bag, in middle of isle, not even trying to hide it. Some rude manager I assume, asked me if I was finding everything ok, as I responded yes, and went on about my shopping. He then followed me to the next isle, and once again asked if I’ve found all my items alright. I responded yes, once again, and asked him where I could find a specific item that I hadn’t been able to locate yet. He brought me there, as I waited at the desk up front to check out, he then mumbled under his breath “there was more than that” not even haven giving me the opportunity to put my things on the desk. He also said “I saw you” “do the right thing”. I placed all my items on the desk, and allowed the lady to look in my bag even to ensure I had placed everything on the desk that was in my bag. Even after that, she required I use a card with a pin, which to me meant she felt as though I was about to use a card that was not my own, like I had stolen someone’s card, after having to run out and grab MY card that I had forgotten in my moms vehicle. I do a lot of walking, so I bring my own bag in to shop, as it’s easier than trying to carry a bunch of plastic bags that I have to pay 5 cents more for anyway. I felt very uncomfortable, and being a person of color, I felt that this was a very unsettling, racial assumption by said “manager” person. I will not be returning to this shaws, as I’ve always done my shopping here, and have always had a positive encounter, up until today. Quite unfortunate we still live in a world where people of color are targeted while shopping, being followed and questioned. I paid for my items no issue, with Apple Pay, and the lady at the front counter made a comment about how I didn’t put a pin in, assuming the card that was on my phone, was not my own. Horrible service here overall today. Very disappointed with how I was treated!

Had everything I needed. Not sure if it was a bit pricey or if that’s just the state of inflation today.

Went to get a money order twice now & both times the manager closes the customer service too early & won’t help me get a money order even though he’s capable of doing so…

People are friendly enough. Beware order pickup though as it seems like the people who run the self checkout also are the ones who bring groceries to your car, expect to wait 10+ minutes for them to bring your order out.Their order pickup isn't as good as Fred Meyer. Nobody competes with them as far as I'm concerned, they're the gold standard. But we live in Maine where Fred Meyer isn't, so we deal with Carrs. I mean Shaws.

It is inconceivable how people are allowed to occupy the bottle and can deposit machines with literally cart loads of bottle/can deposits. How about a 2-minute timer you press when you start to do your deposits and when the timer goes off - you go to the back of the line and the next person steps up to do their deposits before pressing the timer : )

Everything here has multiple prices. To get the lower of the confusing mess of prices, you have to download an app, holding up the line, which doesn't work anyway. Then the person at the register, who would earlier refuse to adjust manually, will grudgingly adjust manually. Why not do that to begin with?On top of that, you have to check everything for expiration dates because they do little to no inventory checks. Produce is consistently less fresh than competition. Things are regularly out of stock, requiring visits elsewhere to fulfill your list. They recently put some fresh vinyl flooring in and had a big review from corporate with some sort of "make over" - I call it lipstick on a pig because nothing is different.I live pretty close to this one and drive past it regularly to go to different grocery stores. Two stars only because their great location, for me at least, keeps bringing me back there in certain circumstances. The few times I'm stuck going here (in a rush or whatever), I'm consistently disappointed.

A great grocery store would do a killer business at this location, but not Shaws - sadly. The highest priced in the area with an below average quality compared to Hannaford or little away the Market Basket. The bakery section is really below the standards — not sure why they don’t have the skill set to do a great baguette or nice bread. Not too many shops there, I used it in a emergency only, but the Hannaford or Market Basket is my choice.Sorry.

I was in the store on october 7th shopping an order for someone else it was 27 items with 50 total pieces it should have taken me around 35 minutes I was in the store for over an hour when I had a hard time to fond items there were no employees on the floor I foumd out why when I came out of an aisle close to the front of the store. There were 4 employees standing around 1 cash register all laughing and chatting when I approached the register to ask for help the first thing I was told was it was closed when I asked where I could find an item I was told where they thought it might be. I eventually found the item when I made it back to the registers around 15 minutes later all 4 were in the same place still laughing and joking around. All cash registers were closed before 830 pm I had to use a self checkout for 50 items and hold up a line the guy next to me ran into problems and it took several minutes for am employee to come and help him. 1 or 2 of the self checkout registers were down with errors that nobody bothered to check on or clear. I already stopped shopping at shaws for personal use when they changed the app into the unusable version that exists now and now I refuse to accept any orders going into a shaws. The customer service at shaws is horrible and non existent compared to any other grocery chain in the area I even manage to get better service from walmart and family dollar.

Very good selection of product especially in the produce dept. Friendly and efficient staff. Prices slight higher than others, but make up for it with convenience and parking. Love the fact that they have US Post Office and bottle return in the building.

I'll start by saying I have a bias against all Shaws cause the produce usually goes bad too quick. This ones not bad if you need a couple brand name boxed/frozen items. The staff at this location can be a bit snappy, but I've also see customers be rude to them for no reason.

Only ONE person in the store was able to sell alcohol, so every check-out was delayed, including her own. Also, using heavy gauge plastic bags at check-out as "re-usable" to avoid the new law is the kind of sleeze move you find in organizations operating in other states.

Great store lots of organic produce which is really important to me. Fresh fish and all the supplies we needed. Actually went to two shaw stores today, both have what we were looking for. Including a t-shirt with Falmouth on it. I was very excited about that.

This is one of the worse grocery locations for one of the worst grocery store chains in the country. They make Piggly Wiggly seem like a well organized and clean store. This is has absurdly rude employees, poorly organized shelves and prices that rarely match at checkout. Hopefully Market Basket eventually pushes this chain out of business.

Who is the genius making decisions in this store? Who is dumb enough to completely shut down the entire food service area before dinner rush hits? Not smart. Also, only two registers open at 5pm? Really?

Don't know what it is about the place but the vibe it gives off compared to Hannaford's in Yarmouth is kind of fishy. I only shop here when Hannaford's is out of the way. The store seems a bit more rundown than Hannaford's.One pro of this place though is it appears to have a larger selection than Hannaford's.
