We camped Labor Day weekend 2023 and were at site 58 with family in nearby sites. This is a great family campground. My kids enjoyed the beach, playground and arcade. The sites are spaced out very well so you aren’t on top of each other. Kids will ride bikes, roller skates, etc all over but it’s still relatively a quiet relaxing atmosphere. About 30 minutes to the Canadian border and access to all kinds of hiking trails. The gas station just outside the campground is also great for anything you might have forgotten. Will be back next year!

Our first time in Maine and I'm glad it was here. Only stayed for two nights and it rained most of the time, but this campground was fantastic. Affordable prices, huge spread out sites on a beautiful lake. Some of the bath houses are definitely a little dated, but the new bathhouse with the dish washing station has individual bathrooms that had a toilet, sink, and shower and were all super clean. A great home base for exploring Flagstaff Lake and the surrounding area. Hope to make the trek back north here again.Nearby activities: An outdoor lovers paradise!

Cathedral pines is one of the best campgrounds we've stayed at. Spacious sites that are spread out, buildings are well kept and Flagstaff lake offers all the lake activities you would expect. Kayak and canoe rentals are reasonable from the camp office. ATV trail access from campground property (not within the campground however) connects to Maines ATV trail system and offers great trails. The Pines market offered everything we needed for a week + stay which is located right next door, walking or bike distance easily. Not too much bad to say about this place!

Such a lovely family campground. Big open sites with water and electric hookup. A nice sandy beach with a new dock. Lifejacket and kayak rentals. A food truck on some days with amazing ice cream and treats. Paved roads, clean bathroom and shower facilities.

This is a great family campground with everything you need! It is nestled among large pine trees and offers camping, with some sites right on Flagstaff Lake. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. There is a really nice beach and swimming area, one area is open to the public and there is an area for campers only. Non-motorized boat rentals are available. The bathrooms and showers are clean. There are also ATV/SXS trails right across the road that offers access to some nice trails.

Absolutely our favorite place to camp. The staff is amassing. Bathrooms are great abs clean. Sites ar large and wooded. Playground is terrific and our absolute praise goes to the activities director at the rec hall. Our grandchildren throughly enjoy the activities and with each art activity there is always an educational piece. All art activities are well thought out and the grandchildren have lasting memories! We have been camping here for 20 years…even when it rains, we have a great time!

Overall, a great campground. We had a tent site right on the lake, with a beautiful view. The site was very clean and flat, and had a great fire pit. Bathrooms are cleaned daily and were “OK”, not the greatest. The reason why I gave a rating of 4/5 is because the staff just weren’t very nice. At check in, the staff seemed grumpy, and while driving through the park, I was yelled at by a staff for “going too fast,” even though I was making sure I was sticking to the limit. Another thing was, if you want to get back into the campground after 8 PM, you need to buy a $10 pass, which is absolutely ridiculous.

We were very disappointed with our sites! We were assigned Lawn sites #5&6 when we made our reservations in May 2021. These sites are located outside of the campground gate, next to the Garage and across from the office. We had never been to this campground before. If you don’t mind being in a very busy area (check in and traffic) and waking up early to the sound of leaf blowers and noise then these sites are for you. We felt like we were camping in a parking lot and not in the campground. We asked about relocation for the week but there were no campsites available side by side. We asked about some type of compensation but management kept saying that there was nothing she could do. Management stated that the location of the sites was discussed at the time the reservations were made but the person in our party that made the reservations did not recall this information. Campground had a lot of nice sites in the woods, clean bathrooms and a nice lake. Wish we could have been inside of the campground. 🏕

Beautiful area, in a valley surrounded by mountains. Beautiful tall cathedral pines. Very friendly campers, great paved interior roads. Beautiful lake for swimming, boating. Most sites very spacious...except ours, 12A. Do not reserve this site. It is smaller, slightly sloped, no shade. Swampy area in the rear. No privacy. Not sure why they gave us this spot since we arrived on a Monday and the campground was 3/4 EMPTY.

Stayed one night while on a cycling tour. The campground is beautiful and well maintained. Some of the guests plated loud music late into the night, but this is probably an isolated case. The site is excellent and I will definitely go back. Showers and washrooms were clean and not overloaded with people.

CAN'T ASK FOR ANYTHING MOREWhat an awesome family campground. Me and buddies have come here several times for hiking during the day, and hanging out at CP at night. Always welcoming, great facilities and bathrooms, waterfront access, great view of Mt Bigelow. These guys saved our lives when they took last min booking when our original plan failed. I always recommend Cathedral Pines to anyone thinking of visiting northern Maine.

This is a very nice campground. Clean. There are trees that separate you and give you some privacy. There is also a beach to enjoy the water to do canoeing, kayaking. Swimming in summer. We have enjoyed our visits to the area. For sight seeing check out Quill hill a 360 degree view of all the Mountains. Then we also went to Ira Mountain. Beautiful rock work. Also a nice view. This time of year September should be beautiful leaf time. There are a few restaurants in town. Just a note bring your own movies as there is no cable t.v. but I remind you... you're camping...smile!

The best camp ground, weve stayed multiple times a summer for many years now, and never let down. The Sites are all huge and well priced. Close to lake & river, seems great for kids too. Clean bathrooms and shirts, private rooms. Close to beach, stores and bar. No complaints at all!

We spent three nights and loved it there. Very quiet mornings and evenings. Lots of kids on bikes during the day so caution is needed. The lake is beautiful, with plenty of opportunities to canoe or kayak in peaceful surroundings. The water in the early morning is like glass. My only complaint is people with their dogs who do not respect the signs, clearly stating "No Dogs On Beach!" There is a separate beach for dogs that they can use but many seem to think their dogs are so special that it doesn't refer to them. And, if you can't control your dog, please keep it on a leash! Too often we saw them running at will and completely ignoring their owners calling them back. The campground should police this more effectively.

Beautiful campground. In the middle of nowhere, which was nice for us for several days. The pines are incredible (though not native apparently, according to the groundskeeper). The lake is a bit weak for me (I grew up going to Champlain), but was great for our children. Our site was rather secluded compared to others, which we really liked. It was obvious that we were seen as "outsiders" (we are not regulars), but a few people were really friendly with us. The front desk was always helpful. Above all, the campground is extremely kid-friendly.

Amazing place, majestic trees and huge campsites. Friendly staff, clean bathrooms and laundry areas. Natural calm setting but fun and family friendly. Local gas station is almost a supermarkets, clean setup, fresh fruits and veggies along with prime meat selections and snacks.

It was such a nice quiet family friendly campground. Beautiful playground for kids of a variety of ages, amazing views, large campground lots and clean bathrooms. The only thing we didn't love was the cement firepits but that's hardly a deal breaker.

One of the better campgrounds I've visited. Very spacious sites with room for a lot of vehicles and campers. Nice showers, clean bathrooms. Only wish they had the shorter fire pits instead of the tall box.

One of the nicest campground I've been to. Huge sites, easy to get around, I'm glad we had the bikes. It would be a lot of walking otherwise. Beautiful large quiet lake for kayaking.

Will return! Awesome campground with shaded sites all around. In fact they have so many sites they're sure to have exactly what you need-multiple parties camping together or privacy. Bring your canoe, kayak, or boat. No Jet Skis allowed on the lake
