While the workers are top notch, it is commonly a frustrating disappointment when shopping here. But we don’t have much choice. This is the “go-to” place in our community for most of our daily needs. There are frequently empty spaces on shelves. But the biggest frustration as always is the lack of cashiers on so-called “assisted” registers. To have more than 20 registers but only TWO manned with cashiers is offensive. Yet there are usually multiple employees milling around the self-checkout registers trying to ensure that you are not stealing. I wholeheartedly understand that we live in a lazy entitled society where many able-bodied people get paid more to stay home than to work. But it’s not about wages or even lack of employees. It’s poor management to not offer proper assistance to your customers. There should NEVER be a time when less than half of the “assisted” registers have a cashier. That is just discriminatory towards the elderly, those with disabilities of all kinds, families with small children, single parents, anyone with a large order, and to all hardworking individuals who just need someone else to help make this one daily requirement less stressful.

Walmart in itself is an evil corporation. However when you leave the store the employees treat you like a criminal they want to search through the items that they just watched you purchase and demand to see your receipt. You do not have any obligation to stop nor do you have any obligation to show them your receipt just walk out the door Don't even acknowledge their existence. As for the lost prevention guy there, The one with the fake deep voice who always wears the same clothes and the same winter hat, that guy is a complete and utter liability to Walmart. He forgets that he is not an officer of the law and he has nothing more than a glorified customer service representative. He will follow you around the store and act like you're stealing even when you're not and then attempt to follow you to the door as you leave and demand to see your receipt and your items. When he did that to me, and placed his hand upon my cart, I looked at him and calmly told him he had 3 seconds to take his hand off my car and to move out of my way. He chose to stare at me with the dumbest look on his face that I have ever saw. So I proceeded to apply a tactical pressure point hold to his left wrist which caused him to moan in pain and promptly release the cart I was pushing. Then he screamed he was going to call the police for assault. So I said please do and I waited in my car. The police came and chastised him for attempted criminal restraint. I declined a press charges and he still has a job. But it's just a matter of time before he ends up in the hospital for impersonating a police officer

We go there because it's America's Monopoly on trying to get you to get everything in one spot so you can save money and the truth is they just take it from all the small stores raise the price so you don't have to go other places and make it inconvenient I rated it five stars but it should be one star but like all Americans I am stuck going there also I still buy my Meats at smaller stores and my produce but I do love the hot chicken bar it is the cheapest in town and for that I might have raised it to two stars and it's because the idea of one store having it all. In the end the employees are the ones who i gave the five stars too.. they are what make or break a store, and Ellsworth has some of the best, But that's just my opinion. ##hartleyshappyfish

Walmart needs to get cashiers. Self check makes you feel like a criminal. Constant stoppage while you wait for Associate to watch a video of you setting up a reusable bag.

This Walmart is pretty typical the building is clean for the most part. It has good prices and a big store. The workers are nice plus it’s not crowded. The part in the picture that was closed was just the coffee shop closing down because of the time. Overall Pretty good Walmart.

I’m not sure why there were three store employees near self check out tonight staring at me while I scanned and bagged my items. Either man a register and scan my things or trust the customers to do it and don’t create an uncomfortable work environment.

Very kind staff...many of the store's grocery shelves were near empty in so many aisles. It was around dinner time which seems like the most popular time to shop after work. For instance - only one case of diet pepsi...lucky me, I only needed one! I was able to get everything but tater tots!

Walmart continues to get worse with time. If you ever need assistance, you won't find it here. Support your local farmers and butchers first, and then shop at Hannaford or Shaws for the rest. The Waltons don't need another cent of your money. The produce at this location is always subpar, products don't stay well stocked, there is zero customer service. Saving a few pennies isn't worth the frustration I feel after shopping here.

Stopped to buy a few things while on vacation and went to the register where Sarah was cashing people out in November 14th around 3:45ish in the evening. She proceeded to complain about my autistic 4 year old who was admittedly extremely over stimulated. I told her I didn’t appreciate her commentary and that we could simply just void the bill and start over because my son had shoved a few things through. She started being extremely rude and just kept making snide unnecessary comments so I ended up putting everything in my cart and went through Jerry’s lane who was pleasant to deal with. Sarah doesn’t belong on the front line of customer service with that attitude.

Took my car in for service, they lost my hubcap, have refused to go good for it, have repeatedly claimed they will “escalate my claim”. That was three months ago. I will never darken their door again

They offer fresh produce and most items seemed well stocked. The store was clean and parking was plentiful. I saw that said they offer a sensory light experience on Saturdays from 8-10 through October. There are other businesses inside such as a Dunkin. Bathrooms are in the front of the store and there is a family bathroom in the back of the store. The employee at the self checkout was very friendly.

Honestly, do not spend much time In this Walmart. My weekly experience is with their Curbside Service. The experience is always stellar. The orders are always ready on time. The outside staff are friendly and helpful. There's enough spaces, so no waiting. Usually no substitutions so I never have to trudge inside. No Complaints.

This location was extremely clean and had nearly every thing we needed. Everything is very strategically placed and makes sense the way that you walk through. We stopped here while passing through the area, very convenient location!

There's nothing great about this place. self check out is a failure. half the people don't even know how to use self ck out. The other half are busy holding up their pj's.Product instability continues one day here 2 months later, still off the shelves.

Everything you need and don't need under one roof. Clever couple aisles near the registers that had a lot of grab and go things from food to candy to drinks. For those that have RVs, you can park here for free overnight. Also clever on their part. Wake up in the AM and you're out of something or forgot something, you're right there to get it

Store opens at 6 but no customer service until 7. Not a good experience. Waited and waited after someone would “come and help”. And didn’t come and said keep waiting-for at least 15 more minutes. Seriously what kind of business can get away with being open and not having customer service open? Or post the correct hours?

Typical Walmart. Customers are fun to watch. Prices are low. I bought pretzels on Saturday and returned Monday for another bag. They didn't have the same item anymore. It took talking to 3 employees to find out that they no longer carried the particular brand I had bought Saturday. Very frustrating. The bag was small so 5 people hiking for 2 days did eat the whole bag quickly.

Well I have been shopping there for 5 years mostly because it's close as in 45 mins away..But every time they mess something up like not activating a phone card or selling something that is broke or saying they have things in stocks they really don't instead of taking care of any of those things , they don't. If u ask to speak to the store manager they won't let you,you get shuffled between leads or managers of the front or anything but what u asked for the store manager..when I called to speak to the manager they said they didn't know who that was....now being shady in your business dealings are one thing..but going out of your way to not allow access to the person who actually runs the store....that's different entirely,why would anyone do that??? None of the reasons include customer support or being even honest...so do yourself a favor either don't shop at Walmart or at the very least avoid the one in ellsworth maine...

It's walmart. It was surprisingly quiet at 6pm on a Monday and it was lovely. Usually it's so crowded I can't breathe. I tend to do Sunday morning before 11 or weeknights at around 9pm. Those seem to always be pretty slow times and I don't like crowds. I like the self checkouts that have the conveyer belt so I can load all my stuff up and have decent space to put it after instead of juggling everything. They also have a decent plant selection but I Google the names to see which are pet friendly and most aren't. Not an issue for most but I have a kitty who likes to sample leaves. Nice that the names are nice and visible on all the plants so it makes it easier. Lots of sale plants too and I like to bring plants back from the brink of death as a hobby so they keep me busy with cheap plants!
