An excellent supermarket and large selection. Nice bakery and deli, and good prices. Just needs more cashiers (or self checkouts) — 6:30 pm on a Sunday with two registers open and at least 6 people in each line.

They always go above and beyond..my products are always fresh...bagged with care..and the delivery drivers are amazing...everyone is always so helpful and kind..I greatly appreciate Shaws in Ellsworth

First time in a Shaws for a long time. I was impressed, the store was full, clean, and had many items I didn't expect. Previously, I was less than impressed with the cleanliness and anemic looking shelves. They seem to be upping their game. Good Job.

Shaw's has good chocolate chip ring cake, a lot of the ready meals like the white Mac & cheese ready to eat was pretty decent. The deli stuff in general is pretty good thier salads in deli of verity is really good, (from other stores) I have tried deli stuff wasn't so good some of these other stores had cartilage in the meats . Shaw's has good shrimp and good prices. I'm not a big frosting person but I really wish stores in general would consider not using so much frosting on regular sellers on floor. I can understand decorating a cake or cupcakes with extra stuff for parties all that but on floor there should be a variety of frosting on Sweets but like I said I'm not a big frosting person nor do I have a big sweet tooth. I understand that employees can not use an override tag,so they have to wait for someone who has one, causing a line build up the employees are not responsible for the poor technology, technology was not made by the employees they just work there but I can understand if someone has a ride to catch or be somewhere important need to rush and that is why self checkouts are provided Shaw's also has the go online shopping if you're in a hurry and orders are usually ready in seconds for pick up time. Shaw's helps customers find products for thier customers unlike some places do not and will disinformation to you about what isles the product is in when it's not or point unlike Shaw's they will try their best to get what you need if outta stock Shaw's is honest about it. Shaw's is also good at trying to help you with your coupons How many stores and fast food places even care about coupons be honest with yourself because from my experience if it expires you dont get it but Shaw's will let it go once because they Care for their customers. How many stores do you see that have carts outside they get left overnight im talking least 100 carts most stores but Shaw's dose a pretty good Job with carts with the amount of customers they get. Shaw's dose a good job of replenishing the trash bags for the trashcanes and replenishing the toilet paper. Shaw's dose their best more than some of these other groceries stores do. Karens will keep saying and doing whatever I think these Karen's should look at all the good that Shaw's has accomplished yes Shaw's dose recommend some feed back if it truly ruined you're day in a way you lost out on something.😊

Good prices and selection. They manage registers very poorly, and I don't mean the lack of self-checkout.Edit: very displeased with Shaws anti-consumer practices, instead of paying humans and being intelligent enough to schedule them properly, they installed a bunch of semi-functional self checkouts.

Hot Mess..... Trying to check out and employees were joking around with each other rather than getting people through the line and out the door. Most employees were not friendly nor did they look happy to be there. One girl did ask me if I needed any help finding anything. During store hours their stocking the shelves leaving boxes and merchandise and ladders in the aisles and you can't even get around the stuff. Some guy was bent down opening something and his butt with sticking up in the air and I could barely get by him but he didn't care. He didn't even try to move out of the way he was too busy with his job to notice the customers apparently. The sale prices are decent and you don't need one of those stupid store cards.

I love the choice of cut flowers here. Seems like a silly thing to go to the grocery store for but I pick up my prescription and get a bunch of flowers to make bouquets for my home. So cool to be able to choose them like that and arrange them myself.

The store and shopping experience is great - but the check-out experience is awful. They rarely have more than two lines open. I was there the other day and it took 20 minutes for me to check out, in spite of plenty of management looking people meandering around, chatting with each other and otherwise not looking like they were doing anything. They didn’t open a third line until the other two lines were backed up so far they went down the aisles.Why not take those empty check-out stands and turn them into self-service? PLEASE?!?

not what i expected. i have been to other shaw's before and i loved the service and the food. this place was horrible. the food i got was an 'italian sub' if it can even be called that. it had olives and peppers on it! like what the heck is that? who puts peppers and olives on an italian sub? on the other hand, there was only one checkout line open and i stood in it for like 10 minutes.

What a wonderful, clean store. Big selection of fruit, vegetables, meats and seafood. Cynthia was so helpful in the fish department, she’s very sweet and willing to help you. She did an excellent job with steaming my lobster!!!! Came out perfect 🤩 was also very surprised to see a big selection of alcohol 🥃, not just wine, but hard liquor as well. Get stop before going to Bar Harbor!!!!

I hadn’t been there in about a year because I was so badly treated by one of the managerial employees. I wanted to buy some cigarettes and got a ten minute lecture on why I shouldn’t smoke by one of the key holders.HOWEVER, for this shopping trip, I was pleasantly surprised. The store was cleaner than I’ve ever seen it, better stocked than any other grocery store in town, and the staff were all friendly. I even had two people stop what they were doing to ask if they could help me! They have won me over. I have finally found a good grocery store in Ellsworth - though I will continue to buy my cigarettes elsewhere.

Prices can be much cheaper than Hannaford but customer service is lacking.. they do not have the same speed and consistency that Hannaford check out lines provide. They do have the phone app for deals which is great if you have the time/need to clip coupons. In the end, I ask whether I'd rather spend a few extra bucks or spend time waiting in line..

Traveled up here from states away and never thought I’d leave a review for a grocery store, but had such a nice experience here I felt I had to. The young woman who worked in the deli was so nice and the entire store was well-organized and clean. Also great prices and a few good sales. Wish I had a grocery store like this back home!

Second day in Ellsworth, so GLAD I found Shaws. Needed some cleaner food than Walmart had to offer, found almost everything I needed! I am here for 13 weeks, glad to have Shaws!!

Shelves partially empty. Otherwise, fairly good selection of organic produce and other groceries. I didn't purchase any meat or fish, but it looked excellent. The deli is also pretty good. Check out staff was friendly but sparse.

This is the best place to do grocery shopping in the Ellsworth area. We shop there every week and get a decent deal. You must sign up online for their coupons but they give free items away every week when you do sign up. On the downside they are very often out of stock on many popular items, almost like their automatic ordering system doesn't function as it should. Still a good shopping experience.

This Shaw's is always so neat and tidy! They've got the aisles clearly labeled with directions, and they're wide enough so you don't get too close to others as you pass them. Also, you can tell that the individual in charge of the plants & fresh flowers is dedicated to their job, because the plants always look freshly watered and so happy.

My go to grocery store as their signature (store brand) is of the higher quality and their produce is amazing. I understand at this time help is hard to come by but there are almost never more than two maybe three registers open and the wait seems a little longer than usual.

Very clean and well maintained grocery store; great selection that is not only free from Hannaford's supply chain monopolization, but offers a better selection in terms of prices and quality. Friendly, dedicated staff always ready to assist with a smile.

Shaw's is a good to great grocery store. It is not my first choice for groceries, BUT. This store has a great produce section especially for organics. It does offer products I cannot find in other stores, and they are products I want. Customer service is not as good as my first choice store. Several years ago I worked at Shaw's as an outside contractor and Shaw's today is better than it was then. I don't do much price comparisons, but they seem to be inline with other supermarkets, perhaps a little cheaper. They have developed a pretty good selection of vegan foods. And I have seen the addition of more vegan choices throughout the store in my sporadic visits over the past year.

Horrid experience. I asked for a cashier to page someone to help me in frozen foods.. she didn't know if she could and would not eve. Try. I cked again myself then left my basket full of food rt where I was and went to Hanaford. NEVER AGAIN WILL I SHOP AT ELLSWORTH SHAWS.. NEVER AGAIN..

We Spent 15 minutes in line waiting to get checked out, we walked out. Left order on the belt. Very bad experience here :~{
