This is the best grocery store behind Publix. Their muffins are fantastic. The sushi Id imagine is very good for Maine. I stop here every weekend to stock up on provisions. Excellent overall.

Was there for the pharmacy today. There are very helpful at navigating thru the insurance red tape when issues arise. If they can't provide something for you, most times they will tell you where you can get it. If you need something over the counter and you can't find it, they will help with that as well. Got just two or three items you want to purchase while picking up medication? They'll ring that up for you as well.

This is where locals come from all over Downeast Maine to shop... the place where you are most likely to run into an old friend.It's also a great place for tourists passing through to pick up fresh fruit, meat and vegetables just before they hit the high prices on Mount Desert Island, or the poor selection further east.I especially recommend the meat department- do what I did and ask for a special order of steak where they don't trim off the fat! A blast from the past!Because they have so many people passing through their doors each week, the selection is excellent!

Pharmacy is an absolute joke. I unfortunately have to come here to drop off/pick up scripts for my grandparents. They'll give you a wait time of half an hour, but 2 hours later haven't even started yet. They also are lacking in personability, which makes the experience even more daunting. Will be switching pharmacies as soon as able.

A typical grocery store in a area where typical is hard to find. The employees are nice and work well together here. I'm from Colorado and worked at King Soopers and it's pritty much exactly the same thing. Even a lot of the brands are the same except, they don't really have any cold press oils or any fancy natural products in the pharmacy area. the produce area seems to be lagging when it comes to selection. But the deli has some really good hot food. There is a hot bar and they have a flattop grill and will make various foods for you and the price is really good.

This place will let you buy thier paper bags or plastic without purchasing anything else. Customer service is ok. Bakery items are really good. Produce is ok. Pharmacy is good I've been using the same pharmacy since I was 12 years old.

Several years ago, I remember being very impressed with this grocery store. It was one of first Hannaford that I had been into that had been “modernized”. A larger produce section, redone deli and wider aisles. I went expecting to give a bad review, but it looks like their remodeling again. Soooo...I’m going to hold off and do a longer review after the remodel is done.

Best grocery store in town! Excellent produce. Great selection of organics. Deli counter, fish counter, meat counter, stir fry counter, fresh sushi (sometimes made to order). Lots of self check out, so usually not a very long wait to check out.

There's this girl there named Sean.She's such a delight.She dropped those potatoes like a pro.She cuts all the fruit to perfec-sean,Much to my apprecia-sean.Sean for president.I'd vote for her in the 2024 elec-sean.Just kidding...that was an exaggera-sean...But either way, the next time you're in Hannaford, and see the girl with glasses, a beanie, and those tattoos that are definitely a big distinc-sean.Say "Hello Sean", and then stand back and watch greatness at work.Sean is my hero.I'm gonna start a petition to change Superman to SuperSean in the next movie.She's kinda the man....so progressive...But in all seriousness...Sean Sean, she's our manIf she can't do itShe'll drop it in the floor.In the most endearing way possible.Like a baby deer, carrying its first bag of potatoes.

Wonderfull grocery store! Helpful staff that finds what you are looking for, answers questions on food prep, all while smiling with a great attitude. Fabulous selection of veggies, meats, cheeses, etc. And a bakery with dozens of bread choices. Checkout is fast and friendly.

I love Hannaford's in Ellsworth ME, I'm from Colorado but go to Ellsworth once a year and this is the place to shop. They also sell Red Hotdogs prepackaged and from the Deli, get them from the Deli because they're Bigger and Longer.

The pharmacy is a joke , lunch is at 2 the pharmacist shut the gate at 155 and told me they would be back in about a half hour. Pretty sure the guy isn't the type you'd wanna leave children around either. .

Very impressed with selection of fresh fruits and vegetables. Store very clean, wide aisles, lots of specialty sections. Shelves well stocked with large variety of foods. Self-checkout was easy. Would shop here if we lived here.

Because of the fact that they have so many chronically out of stock items that other stores do have in stock, we only shop here when we need something specific to this store. For example, they have a much better deli with meats and cheeses than any other store in town. If they fix their inventory/ordering problems we will gladly start shopping there again.

People drive a long way to get their groceries at this Ellsworth store. Excellent selection, good produce, very good fish section and even a decent pharmacy. They seem to solve problems (low on produce, no fish on sale yet, checkout lines more than 3 carts) in relatively short time blocks.

We stopped here on an off-season weekend trip with all our kids. Everyone found something they liked for dinner, and there was even a little sitting area to eat. I loved the stir fry bar. I'd never seen anything like that in a supermarket. What a great value. We also were able to pick up groceries and then head home. Great store. Clean store and friendly staff. Thank you!

I can't say enough about Hannaford in Ellsworth. As an out-of-towner, I always look forward to seeing what the local supermarket chain has to offer.I was tasked with the duty of grocery shopping during our stay for the week. This supermarket chain is similar to and is most likely a sister-store to my local Stop & Shop in NY, as I noticed they carry the Nature's Promise brand.Where this store excels is their customer service. I was always greeted with a friendly smile, even though I would come in close to closing. Something that's rare here in NY. I did not feel rushed at all during my shopping which occurred every night for the week. The staff was very helpful and gave me directions when I felt lost in the store. The cashier even made small talk during check-out.I was able to find everything that I needed without a problem. The store was always well-stocked during my visit.Big kudos to the Bakery Department because every loaf of bread that I purchased (about 5-6) were soft and delicious.I highly recommend this supermarket if you're in the area. I will surely be returning.

Good selection of products. Love the fresh made sushi and stir fry bar. Hannaford to go grocery pick up is great; the shoppers do a very good job and it is quick and easy to pick up.
