I am from out-of-state, The people I visit in Damariscotta shop here all the time. I stop in from time to time when I am in town and shop here as well. Great prices, great selection, friendly staff. I love the hometown feel, when I walk in. I miss the private owned grocery stores like I used to go to growing up in my hometown. It is a welcome pleasure to shop here every time I am in town. 👍🏻👍🏻😁

They have good deals on fresh portion of vegetables good for single people to cook. The deil has good deals. The meat is very affordable and fresh. Would recommend you check it out for savings.

For an extremely small store in a small town with 2 other options, it doesn’t surprise me it’s so slow, the service is AWFUL!! The lady manager is horrible! And some guy that rung me up acted like he was doing me a favor?!? I’ve tried it 3 times since it was yellowfront, but won’t again! I don’t mind spending a little more for a local store, but the service is AWFUL! Signed a local that will spread the word. Good luck

Nice store, generally more affordable than hannafords.However every time I get ice cream here, you can tell it had almost melted at one point and was refrozen, I mean.. it's still ice cream, but it's never as good when it's been refrozen and this makes the stoned hungry person inside of me sad.

I hate to leave a great review, because I don't want the tourists to find out about this place. My husband and I have not set foot in Hannaford in a LONG time, and it's such a relief! They have what we need at better pricing, and so much nicer than Hannaford employees. Tourists... They don't have what you want.. Go to Hannaford and leave us normal people, just trying to get to work, alone.

Friendly, Knowledgeable, Hard-Working Staff keeping store clean, neat and tidy. Carry certain things Hannaford does not. Excellent meat and chicken.Fresh eggs. Quick in and out if you are in a hurry.

I was a frequent customer there, however, I witnessed the most unprofessional behavior by the owner that I've made my last trip to Main Street Grocery. When you have to discipline an employee you do it privately not so everyone in the store can hear it. It was made abundantly clear that the own tries to make herself feel better by degrading an other. There are multiple courses on being a professional manager and not bully.

A nice local grocery store that is clean and pleasant and easy to get around. It is not as crowded as the larger commercial grocery store and the street and has several items I cannot get there. It also sells eggs from the local Bowden Egg Farm in Waldoboro. They are well known for carrying good, affordable meats.

Friendly store that carries two foods we love but can't find anywhere close by: Hatfield liverwurst & Taylor Ham. Also like the good deals on day-old bread.

Amazing workers produce meat all around atmosphere. They give complementary coffee to coustmes that come in to shop. They now offer hot fresh soup daily along with fresh sandwiches on top of being a grocery store! Great local business owners and business

Smaller than typical chain supermarkets but they cover all the bases with fresh produce, meats and packaged foods. Excellent service with both home delivery and storeside pickup, which is super important during the pandemic.

Great grocery store. The place looks aged, but they have good prices and great deals. You can also find some stuff the chains don't carry, like Kirschner hot dogs. Recommended.

Curbside pickup in Damry. That's nice, and they are an agency liquor store now.. so the only place in town you can get booze to go. A little more expensive, but worth it for the convenience of not having to drive to Rockland and the peace of mind. Plus. LOCAL.

Many thrifty shoppers would look at Main Street Grocery and scoff, as it is less than a mile away from Hannaford's a much more established and affluent business. Its Real! Tasty food, locally run by humans, stuffs where you can find it. Easy and convenient. Floor slopes so you can feel the funk-sway. The fulltime summercomplaints arent too underfoot most times. One of the last vestages of the Damariscotta we loved.
