The only place to eat on Great Cranberry besides the general store. Pricey, but to be expected being on an island. Enjoyed the mozzarella and tomato panini ($14) and the BLT ($12). Outdoor seating only at picnic tables or tables with umbrellas.

Wonderful place to stop for lunch after walking the trails. Food is delicious and very reasonably priced, especially considering you're on an island. We had the lobster BLTs and cranberry lemonades, which were prepared very quickly, even though most of the other tables were full. They were very good about asking anyone waiting for food to distance due to COVID.

Great people that we enjoy seeing each time we ferry out to Cranberry (they're only open seasonally so, plan accordingly). The island is a must-see if you're checking out the Acadia area and Hitty's is where you should plan to have lunch! Take the ferry out of Isleford (check schedules as this is a seasonal ferry) and enjoy a day or half-day exploring Cranberry. Oh yeah, while at Hitty's try the Reuben w/ a Moxie soft drink. :)

Hitty’s Café was a wonderful stop during our afternoon visit to Great Cranberry. Service was fast and friendly, our food was delicious, and the outside patio eating area was neat and clean. They may have been in a magical spot on the island too, because everywhere else we went has swarming mosquitoes, but there were none here while we were eating.

Great spot on Great Cranberry! We enjoyed Cranberry Lemonade, Clam Chowder and Lobster Rolls. Service was friendly as well!

Awesome food! The outdoor seating was nice & the food came out quickly.We had the lobster roll, BLT, and turkey club as well as the cranberry lemonade. The cranberry lemonade is sweet & tart, exactly as expected and very good. The lobster roll was awesome & the bread was super good. The BLT & turkey club were also quite tasty.Very well-priced as well compared to the other restaurants we have visited.

The Cafe is a nice place on the island, we ate in as we were just visiting the island for the day. Not a large selection but we were there in the off season, but what we did get was tasty. They had a fun Lego table that my son spent hours at.

We visited Hitty's Cafe in July 2022. The person who took our order (it seemed like he was the owner) was very rude. Even though we were the only ones there, he was rushing us to order since he was expecting about 120-180 customers that day. When we had questions about the menu, he would have rude remarks that made us feel stupid. I guess since we weren't considered a part of the "mad rush of customers", we weren't important to him. The food was over priced for the amount served and the taste was ok. On a side note, he was friendlier (or just relieved) after he took a quick trip on the golf cart to retrieve what seemed like food supplies for the mad rush.

One of the best kept secrets of Mount Desert Island. The lobster salad sandwich and the curried chicken salad sandwiches are phenomenal, as is the homemade lemonade and desserts. Worth the trip on the mail boat simply for lunch here!!!

It's the only game in town on Great Cranberry Island. About half of our group was pleased with their food, the other half was disappointed. The turkey club is a good option as is the lobster bisque.

Loved our lunch at Hittys Cafe! Not only was the food delicious - great chicken salad, best lobster roll and lobster bisque - but they were so friendly! We can’t wait to return!

Kinda pricey for what you get. Scoop of ice cream 4 bucks and it's not very good (not creamy at all).Most basic, small lobster roll 18 bucks. You'd think a village in Maine would change less than top Bar Harbor restaurants.

The chowder was quite good. Also enjoyed the cranberry lemonade. Quick, friendly service. Nice location. Only complaint, my BLT was a little light on the B for the price.
