Yarn lovers, come one come all!! What an amazing little shop! One of the best selections of yarn I've seen and I've been to dozens of shops across the country. There was an array of local New England yarns and a good balance between thin and thicker gauges of yarn throughout. They had the best selection of Noro I have ever experienced 😍 a lot of variety of yarn materials as well. I could have spent hours there but sadly I only had 15 minutes 😭 one downside: no Addi/skacel needles except the flexible double points, which are great, it would just be nice to have some quality metal circulars rather than the china-made chiaogoos.

I stopped in here on vacation as a new crocheter and was really impressed with the folks working. They took time to ask what I was making, my skill level, and what type of fibers I preferred. Came away with some great cotton yarn. Entering any hobbyist shop as a newbie can be intimidating, but the staff immediately broke the ice and made me comfortable.

I feel so lucky to be a part of the knitting community because folks are often so kind and helpful -- the Cashmere Goat is no exception. I'm knitting a sweater for my dad from a vintage pattern, so I took him with me to the store to pick out some yarn. He was blown away by the selection! I also needed some help figuring out how much I'd need, plus supplies, and Myranda was so incredibly helpful. She even did math for me! Also, we happened upon the store during Knitting Circle, and it's always heartening to see a yarn store with an active community. This place is wonderful, and the folks in Camden are lucky to have this place as their local shop. Thanks Cashmere Goat

On a visit to Maine felt the need for some different yarn. Found The Cashmere Goat and was pleasantly surprised by the selection of yarns and notions and great staff. Hope to be back sometime. Very nice store with parking!

I’m doing the 2022 Maine Yarn Cruise and rating all the shops. This one is a fave. It’s in a new location, so double check the address if you’ve visited in the past. The new location comes with a bit of parking, which is excellent! The new shop is bright and well lit, with a jaw dropping selection of high end yarn from all over the world. We’ve all seen yarns from Peru and Uruguay of course, but the Cashmere Goat also featured yarns from Italy, the UK, Kathmandu, Norway and Japan (to name a few). The yarns favor a high end market, and have brands and fibers I’ve not seen in my travels (and I’ve hit a LOT of Maine LYS). Moreover, the ladies working there were outgoing and friendly and quick to chat up customers or help with a particular fiber search. I inquired after a specific brand and line and although it wasn’t in stock, they were quick to guide me to something similar. If you love yarn, particularly beautiful, exotic yarn, run to the Cashmere Goat right now! You won’t be sorry!

I'm very new to crocheting and don't know much about terminology, what I need for projects, etc., but the staff here are super patient and friendly! It makes crocheting so much more accessible and enjoyable. Thank you for all you do and for such great quality supplies!

I went into the Cashmere Goat knowing noting about yarn and knitting, but just to get some yarn for a friend of mine to knit me some hand warmers. The employees here were instrumental in helping me find what I needed, and the hand warmer are so great! They definitely led me in the right direction!

Lovely shop. I never got the visit their old space, but the new location is bright and welcoming despite the stormy day. Staff was helpful and quick despite it being rather busy. Will definitely be back!

Very nice shop. Friendly staff made my Husband feel comfortable while waiting on me. Even gave him a lesson on how electric wonders work. I want one and he was not sure what they were. Can’t wait to go back to see them.
