Paws got me in for a spay clinic at the last minute. I'm really grateful they fit me in because the price was right and my kitty's illnesses had cost me a lot of money so far. They gave me a comprehensive review of how the kitties did during the procedure and after. It was clear that they genuinely care about pets and the work that they do.

Hello Paws!I was in Calais about 10 years ago helping a friend renovate his appt. On a whim, I was influenced to visit this facility to possibly adopt a feline as a surprise to my wife, that had always wanted us to adopt a cat/kitten. After sharing several pictures of different cats to my wife during my visit (she was home, 6+ hours away) she finally chose a beautiful and skinny pure white Siamese mix kitten that was previously named Cream (wait for the ending). When I was discussing the adoption process, the woman working had mentioned her brother (pure black Siamese mix kitten named Cookie, get it now?) would be sad, but happy to see her go to a home. My heart dropped, and it took about .0001 seconds to decide, "I'll take them both!" Needless to say, my wife was overjoyed with a bonus furr baby. Here it is, 10 years later and they have touched our hearts and souls more than ever imaginable. I shared a picture of them together on a black box, on the websites photo wall. Still together, and bonded for life 😻. Midnight and Malee, formerly Cookies n Cream, would like to say "Hi" to the Paws crew, and thank you again!

We have adopted 2 cats and a dog from this shelter and they have been amazing to work with and the animals were very well cared for and have been such important parts of our family. I highly recommend adopting from this shelter.
