Response to the owner:You're funny!! Do the photos look like your place? My visit was on 9/19/2023. It must have been one of the last days you were open this year. The sign on the inside seating said "air conditioning". I walked in and it wasn't warm. I was not impressed by the food. The temperature that day was in the mid to upper 60s; look it up. I won't be back.Original review:Not mainly lobster. The lobster is too expensive to buy but fortunately they have cheaper options. I tried a weird item: Hoof and Feather. It was spicy with enough fries for a family. There's no comfortable place to sit when it gets cold. The enclosed building has air conditioning but no heat.Vegetarian options: Its all fried.Parking: When its busy - good luck.

Wasn't too thrilled that they left out a large part of our order and we had to drive all the way back to this place and wait in the cold for them to fix it. Since I already handed in my receipt with the number, I had to say my number again and have the guy chase down the order to get us everything. Thankfully I remembered the number or I wonder if we would have even been able to get what we paid for.The previous counter person laughed as she handed me the original order, and I think she was trying to screw with us.Food wise, nothing to write home about. Lobster roll was very basic and the fries were bland.

The food was ok. the Onion rings were a huge letdown and the portions were small for the price. Outside there was a wasps nest near by that was creating issues for out family and other guests eating at the open air pavilion. We told the girl at the register and she said she knew but was unable to do anything. Still the food was Great! I just wish there was more of it for what we paid.

Very nice, large, covered area with picnic tables where you can eat. People were very friendly. The food was good, but the prices seemed high. I ordered a large lobster roll and it did have a lot of lobster, but seemed small for $27. They have Gifford's ice cream which of course is great.Wheelchair accessibility: Parking lot and outside dining area are flat but there is gravel in thd parking lot. Other than that, easy to get around.

Been waiting for this place to open since last season. The day has finally arrived and we could not be happier. We both got the small haddock basket. One with onion rings (always really good) and one with fries. The fish was cooked nicely with a crispy batter. It's a really good size for a small and very filling. I also had the fried mushrooms which I absolutely love. (No pic, sorry.) Due to Covid 19, we had to go by new rules, for the time being. Call in, pay over the phone, get your number and wait for it to be called over their loud speaker in the lot. We ordered on our way because we live 15 minutes from there. We were told 15 minutes, but waited almost 45 (hence my 4 stars). Not a big deal. No place to be and the food was fresh and worth the wait. We'll be back a number of times throughout the season. ****update**** photos added-- not sure why they didn't go thru the first time.

Absolutely the worst food I have ever had,I can't believe these guys get a high rating. The rolls are horrendous. In April the lobster rolls were circa $27 for a large, I opted for a shrimp roll (same size I was told by the approx 12 year old that served me) for $10.99. I was about 12 small deep fried prawns on what looked like 1 piece of bread.Don't go! Don't stop there, save yourself the anguish.*** and in reply to the owners reply, maybe just train your staff so they serve the correct meals. Absolutely disgusting. I went back to complain but there was a line of 4 (potentially future disappointed punters) in line, it was raining, it was cold, I decided to get back in my car and visit a decent venue in future. You can see from my picture the shrimps are minimal, the staff (2 quite young females) didn't seem to know what they were talking about when I questioned them about what I should expect from meals. And to request tips before I even receive a meal! Once on the payment keypad, another a tip bucket on the desk. Minimum wage is what....$16 per hour now and we still feel as though we need to tip for fast food service?

Three stars because my twin lobsters were absolutely fabulous! Only three because my wife ordered fried shrimp and she got Sysco frozen pre breaded fried shrimp. What an INCREDIBLE disappointment! They could not have been worse. Please warn people when you serve frozen, pre prepared “seafood”.Edited Review:After receiving a response from the establishment, which I appreciated, and I am not trying to be obstinate here, just honest, as a consumer, I have been a restaurant owner and in the business for 43 years and know fresh from pre prepared frozen food. May it be Sysco, US Foodservice, PFG or your local supermarket, I am very sure these were frozen shrimp. You sell great, fresh lobster (which I had and enjoyed) and haddock (which I saw at the table next to us and it looked fresh and great), but knowing Maine does not have “shrimp boats” and folks don’t come here for the shrimp, (my wife was just “lobstered out” and chose the shrimp), I can understand why these would be served. I just believe you should let people know when they ask. (Which we did. Ask, that is.) We were at another establishment in Wiscasset and wanted crab cakes and asked if they were fresh, and the honest proprietor told us they were good quality, but, pre prepared and frozen.Again, I’m not trying to be nasty.I wish your business well, especially in these tough times in our business and the lobsters I had were absolutely perfect!

Food was okay. The lobster rolls did not have much flavor. Fried pickles or excellent. Pretty pricey meal though. Nice outdoor seating and the playground for the kids while you wait.

My FIRST LOBSTER, was good. Friendly service, clean, quaint, fun spot right on the coast. Saw our first eagles nest on top of a telephone pole along the short drive to Bucksport, ME... what a treat.Don't order the Bud bottles, food was good, was so excited. Went here FIRST with no regrets.

Awesome, friendly service, very sweet and willing to answer our "tourist" questions! Great food at a reasonable price. Fried pickles were awesome. It was cold and rainy but they were still open! Hard to find someplace open in April. Thanks y'all!!

So we stopped here today, at one of two take-outs right next to each other on R-46. It is a seafood place... with a heavy on the seafood menu. Not a big fan of stuff that swims but I think the measure of any restaurant is how good they do food other than their specialty.Carrier's had a lot of good things, the (Non-Sea) Food we had was quite delicious and served relatively quickly. Even tho it was a nice spring day and the place was Swimming with customers. We never went inside (didn't know there was inside seating until we were gone), but I loved some of decor and decorations outside. The Wall of Buoys was pretty cool. I was curious about "Muriel" which was below the statue of a Lobster out front and was told by one of the owners that it was namesake of a Family Member. Nice Touch. All in all, great service, great food, great atmosphere. Only ding(y) was, we were in line and my friend nearly jumped out of her shoes when they read the serving number over the loudspeaker. No biggie. Just ":Fair Warning" if loud noises make you nervous. We will be back to try the other landlubber foods, just no "Bug and Corn" for me. Ahoy!

This place is great! Local yummy seafood, local beer, a shaded, dog-friendly pavilion with a ceiling fan, and parking for our RV. We arrived at lunchtime but the line and wait was fine. I had the lobster roll and a local Geaghan Bros Brew and it was worth the money. The staff was very friendly and even shared a local visitor’s guide that was helpful as we’d just arrived in town. We really enjoyed our time here. 😋

So delicious although expensive. The lobster roll was so good. The onion rings side is GIANT portion. One is enough for three hungry people.

Tried lobster roll, seafood chowder and soft shell lob. Food quality is average. I had way better chowder and lobster rolls. The service is very nice. The place looks so authentic.

Carriers is a top notch roadside fry bucket. If you're visiting maine for the seafood and you want authentic maine fried clams, a simply massive lobster roll, or maybe you're all "lobstered out" and want something raised on land like a classic Philly, a Buffalo chicken sandwich, or their own Frankenstein's monster of the two (it's called the hoof and feather) they've got you covered and their portion sizes do not disappoint.

We were staying in Bucksport while visiting Acadia. This place was amazing. You order at the window and they call your food when it's ready. This was the best lobster roll I've ever had. It was huge and the price was right. The scallop basket was also amazing. But this lobster roll blew away any of the lobster rolls I've had in Bar Harbor.

I've been going here for as long as I can remember!! My family has a year round house just up the road at Toddy Pond in Orland! The Lobster is always fresh! The Lobster rolls are huge and full of meat not just claw meat either!! My husband doesn't do Mayo but that's no problem here as each is prepared when you order! The Steamers are so good and never sandy!! The fries and Onion Rings are so good! All the food is Delicious and so fresh!! The prices are very reasonable for the huge servings and the freshness of seafood!!

Nice spot on the side of the road with outdoor picnic style seating in the back. We had the crab roll and lobster roll and they had beer options. Solid sandwich for the price and they had non seafood options for picky eaters. Also had ice cream options which was a nice touch

The lobster was good but very pricey ($26.00) for the amount I had. The fries were not that great and they gave you enough to feed 4 people.

The large lobster roll is truly large, and of good quality. Nice choice of sides, cute backyard type area, decent beers, and an overall great experience.

Had to stop by for a lobster roll here and it was not a mistake. The lobster roll was packed with juicy lobster. I could understand why the locals seem to come and buy in multiple bag fulls of food from here.

Lobster rolls were yummy, and we could have them either with mayo (which is per usual), or plain in the roll with hot drawn butter on the side.

I was in Maine on business from Oregon, and asked a local coworker where to go. 1st and only recommendation was Carrier's. Rolled up on a drizzly May evening and placed my order at the window. There is a little dining area in the back and it was decorated very Maine'ly. The roll was amazing. Cold meat, lightly seasoned with a mayo based spread. The slaw paired really nicely with it. I'm in Maine 1 more night and I will be going back to get another one of these rolls tomorrow.
