A trip home for the holidays helped introduce my (local) sister and (visiting) me to Vessel & Vine and its excellent backroom bar, Caballeras. We were looking for a drink and snack, but arrived before the 4p opening, so we first sampled some excellent cheese and crackers in V&V's well curated market and wine shop. After the bar opened, we sat in a cozy booth, excitedly assessed the four Hot Toddy specials, asked the server for appetizer advice, and drew comfort from a sign over the bar saying that right-wing extremist Proud Boys were not welcome here.The tropical flavored Hot Toddys, with pineapple rum, were served in nifty glass holders. They were terrific, not too sweet, evocative of warmer climes, and the perfect drink on a wintry Maine day. The appetizers also hit the spot. The dolmas/stuffed grape leaves were yummy, but perhaps would be even tastier if served warm. The Muhammara spread, a spicy Middle Eastern walnut and roasted pepper dip, was fantastic, with just the right spicy kick, and served with toasted bread. We loved it, loved the hidden vibe of the bar, and felt well taken care by the staff.It's always nice coming home and, once there, finding a great new spot. We ended up buying cheese and crackers and that great Muhammara dip to share at Christmas dinner. I will definitely be back!

Fantastic market and even better bar! We had a great night sampling sherry, amaros, and cocktails. Our bartender was so fun and knowledgeable. We will most definitely be back to try out more of their delicious libations & snacks. Thank you Charley! We had a wonderful time with you.

This place is fantastic. It's very new, has such a cool and cozy vibe and is the only nice place to get a drink late in the area. Had an amazing salad, delicious wine and whiskey cocktail. Can't recommend enough.

Friends of mine have long said how much they enjoy this spot, and how they admire the owner for her perseverance during the difficult years of the pandemic. If you are looking for interesting wines that the supermarkets do not carry, check this place out. They also have specialty foods like prosciutto that is well worth the visit. You might have to look for it since the entry is rather non-descript but go for it!

Stopped in while passing through Brunswick after a recommendation. Was definitely worth the short detour. Beautiful shop with a great assortment of wine, snacks, spices and other pantry goodies. Very nice little selection of cheeses and meats at the back counter. The staff was very kind and friendly. Will definitely be a regular stop for us whenever passing by

On a family friend's suggestion, we enlisted V&V to make us charcuterie platters for our low key backyard wedding. V&V did a great job, very friendly, and personalized to suit our needs and budget, made us 4 very nice and unique platters.They retail very well curated foods, wines and curiosities, have an enjoyable porch atmosphere for enjoying wine or cocktails, and are generally just pretty great.

Amazing gourmet food store. Spices, delicious looking jarred items, a deli, wine, cocktail mixers, gourmet canned fishes, bread loaves, chocolate, and on and on. I love stopping in when I go to Brunswick.

Vessel & Vine had an excellent of wines, cheeses, cocktail making equipment, and spirits. Staff were knowledgeable, able to make suggestions off the cuff and super friendly! The to-go cocktail is a must-try for anyone who wants to take a high-end cocktail home to the dinner table.

This was one of the most amazing places I have been in a long time in the Brunswick area. The food (tapas style) and drinks were amazing and very tasty. The owner cuts the meat platter (charcuterie) to order... not sure of any place that still does this. There is also a little store inside with clothing, wine, and other small items for sale. I would highly recommend this place for anyone looking for a relaxing night out at a place with an incredible atmosphere.

This a great spot to grab a good glass of wine and build your own charcuterie board. The selection of wine by the bottle is also always great and usually has some gems at reasonable prices you can't find elsewhere.

I just happened to see this place as I was driving past Pleasant Street and decided to pop in. This is a hidden gem! Very nice ambiance and warm feeling as you walk in. I tried a drink and a little bite of spread with mushrooms and brussel sprouts. It tasted Fantastic. I DEFINITELY will be coming back here and next time will bring friends.They do not serve meals here, so this place is good for before a show or a late night date night.

Such a pleasant surprise to find this treasure in our back yard! A tiny wine and cocktail bar that punches way above its weight. Whoever has constructed the wine selection knows their stuff. Unusual and excellent value wines, to include Saparavi (Republic of Georgia), and some standout South African bottles. In addition to these unique, outstanding, relatively unknown wines (but therefore undervalued with great prices!), there's also a surprisingly broad group of carefully selected more standard European and American bottles. This place is great. A fantastic addition to Brunswick, and an establishment that wouldn't be out of place in Portland or even Boston.

HOT off the PRESSES .. 🚨 alert: I think I have a new favorite shop 🧀😵‍💫 …after a brief solo gaze upon the case, I asked for suggestions regarding a ‘hideously pungent’ rindy cheese, and she instantly became my muse. Lovely. There are surprises in & around every nook of this rustic little shop. And the eye candy! Cheeses, meats, wine … bitters ! If you do not know this is here, you could walk right on past it ~ Don’t let it happen!At the register, there are discoid carrot cakes which resemble the yeasty aging rind of a mutant cheese. Jump in my basket. Please.My sales associate was charming & beautiful and helpful and lovely … Thank you for that infectious smile and whimsical air, cheesegirl.My pungent, rindy Flora was wrapped hideously, but with cunning and playful abandon. I am a happy guy and I will definitely return to this brilliant gem.In a godforsaken state where there is a WeedMart about every 2.7 miles on any stretch of town road … it is refreshingly beautiful to have a CheeseMart close by and ready to remedy any challenge the day brings.Readers: do yourselves a favor and visit Vessel & Vine, Brunswick. 🧀🍷
