This place is really nice. Very nice and well curated interior set up. Good drink and coffee selections. Delightful pastries and sandwiches. They do events here during the month too. The other night was comedy night. It was a great night and the comics were very worth seeing. Admittedly I was one of them so I might be biased.

Updated review Nov. 2021- I used to love Little Dog and came almost everyday but sadly this place has gotten too pricey. Breakfast sandwich is now over 7 dollars for something that is lower quality than McDonalds. No sauce, fake egg, limp piece of cheese. Sad. Coffee is good but for the price there are much better options in the area.

I use to love this coffee shop- located right on lovely downtown Maine St. Paul, the original owner, ran a tight ship. The food and coffee drinks were fabulous and the environment was welcoming. Then Paul sold the place. The second owner renovated the interior and gave Mark, the chef, more latitude to create menu items which were fabulous. Then the Little Dog was sold again- staff changes ensued and the service, quality of food and drinks and welcoming atmosphere went out the window. The result: random closing times, unhappy employees, food that is hit or miss (and lately more often a miss) and coffee that is frequently less than fresh. There are other coffee shops in town that provide excellent service, fantastic menu items and business hours that don’t change with the wind direction. Our local beloved Little Dog coffee house is nothing but a memory now. It is time to put the Little Dog out of it’s misery.

Usually hit this place up after my dentist cleaning and never disappoints! Ordered their Bagel with Lox this morning (everything bagel, cream cheese, avocado, and salmon) and OMG the combinations of flavors was incredible! Will be back for sure. I only finished one half of the bagel, so y’all are amazing! If you love salmon you owe it to yourself to try this!

Such a cute place and we loved their inclusivity mission. Food was outstanding, highly recommend the smoked salmon bagel. Dog friendly patio!

I stood in line, ordered my food with no tomato. Was told i couldn’t omit the tomato so i told him I didn’t want it with tomato. I asked for a plain bagel with cream cheese and i was told to get back in the line, which was ridiculous. They were out of house bread. Out of so many items. Dont bother going there not woth it.

The newest most recent ownership ran it into the ground, and took their employees with it. Crashed and burned hard, used to be a great place, in fact I have a gift card from there and now because they have been closed for sometime, I will never get to use it, maybe just as well, but at least they should return the money. We will see, perhaps they will see this and contact me. What a damb shame!

Genuinely really like this place but they’re consistently randomly closed. And they also close super early (1pm) maybe scratch the world “lunch” off the door?Three times now I’ve driven up from Yarmouth to find they’re closed. And each time the reason is different. I’m just frustrated with the lack of consistency or reliability. If you manage to get in everything is pretty delicious but… good luck

nice, but very understaffed. frequent closures due to members being fired and no new members being hired on. lack of consistency due to employees appearing burnt out, despite their good attitudes. some features of the cafe (like bottled drinks) have been phased out for some reason. please listen to your staff, i don’t patronize businesses that don’t treat their employees like equals, especially at the union bargaining table.

If I could give no stars I would. I came into this coffee shop this morning. When I walked in the door it was a busy place. At first I didnt know where the line started because there was no signs detailing where you ordered or paid or any of that. After 2 people behind me got in front of me because I was standing in the wrong place I was let back into line by those nice two customers. After ordering a simple latte and a breakfast sandwich I waited. Both customers behind me got their orders and were out the door before i got anything from my order. the person working the register seemed to know both people by first name basis. By the time my breakfast sandwich was ready I’d waited 7-10 minutes. After another 7-10 minutes of standing there waiting my latte was finished. The girl working apologized for my near 20 minute wait for my order but by then my coffee and my breakfast sandwich were cold and quite honestly disgusting. I will never come back here and if I know anyone who ever thinks of coming here I will strongly recommend reconsideration. For such a popular place I dont see how anyone could put up with the horrifying service this establishment provides.

Great spot to enjoy a cup of coffee or tea! The iced latte was a really nice treat on a warm summer day. They had lots of seating inside (air conditioned) or outside during nice weather, allowing casual hangouts or more focused working sessions.

A very nice small business. It didn't keep me waiting, and the food is delicious! I would highly recommend going there and I will definitely go there again! The coffee is amazing and really made my morning brighter. The customer service was phenomenal and the staff treated me with respect and kindness.

Great little cafe in downtown Brunswick. Decent drip coffee. Baked goods are the best I've had in a long while. An amazing assortment of scones, different flavors daily. Employees are professional and personable. Definitely worth your time and money.

The bfast sandwich was outstanding. The coffee was great. Cute outdoor seating. The staff were doing a great job trying to keep all covid protocols/precautions in a very small quaint shop. Super convenient location to the highway. Will definitely be back!

I love Little Dog Coffee Shop! Great atmosphere and seating. The tea and ginger molasses cookies are heavenly! I’ve only been there for evening comedy events and enjoyed the delicious homemade pastries! I highly recommend it!

I ordered a large iced latte that was marked on the electronic wall menu as $5.50 and I was being charged $7.25. When I questioned it the girl behind the counter argued I was looking at hot drinks. I pointed out to her the prices listed under iced drinks, it truly did say $5.50. She responded, "Well, we have new owners and the prices are higher, there is nothing I can do about it." I told her I hope she can remove the order because that's a ridiculous price difference and I no longer wanted it. 5 years ago I gave them a 5 star rating, today i wont ever go back.

Cute little place with good but pricey coffee and pastry. Very busy, not really my cup of tea, but I needed a coffee so I gave it a try. I will stick to Dunkin, it was a little too bougie for my taste, but, like I said, very busy so people like 'em. And the coffee was pretty good.

The coffee was "meh," the breakfast sandwich was kinda pathetic: a hockey puck of egg slapped between two slices of half-toasted, lukewarm bread. The prices didn't really reflect the lack of quality. The staff seemed apathetic at best. At exactly 3 o'clock, a staff member went to the front of the store and yelled, “We are now closed. I'm locking the front door. Please exit in the rear." My friend and I were the only two people left in the shop. Like just treat us like people and talk to us, not yell at us.I have been here twice and both times were pretty disappointing. I have been sort of confused as the products and service leave a lot to be desired, but the coffee shop is usually full and rated 4.4 stars. All this leads me to believe that Little Dog Coffee Shop's success must come from its lack of competition rather than its products or service.Probably won't be going here again.

The Little Dog is great! Very good place to sit and use the laptop or just read the paper and have coffee and a bagel. They serve Coffee By Design which is an excellent local roaster. Recently they underwent a renovation and though the service area is definitely improved I miss the couch and chairs. It's still a great spot in Brunswick. Highly recommend.UPDATE: Maybe I missed them last time I was in but I went into The Dog recently and the couch and chairs had returned! Yay! Excellent Coffee shop.

First time visit today. Had a slice of the Southwest quiche. It was delicious and a very good sized portion. I would have given it 5 stars but we had to send it back once to warm it all the way through. Otherwise everything was good! I will visit again.

Croissant was a day old even though it was listed at full price. We luckily got a refund on this. However, we asked for a Cortado and received a bubbly cappuccino with burnt espresso and also got a single shot espresso with no creme. And lastly, they didn’t call out our order to know that it was ready. The toasted bagel with butter was good.

The cafe is incredibly pretentious, and would not get any business if there were more local coffee options. The food is decent, but not worth what you pay. The staff have been incredibly rude every time I've gone in over the course of ten years, save for one time a staff was actually friendly, and I remember because I was so surprised. Like others have said, you will wait a weirdly long time for your coffee, food, or other drinks, while there is almost no one else there, and watch the staff stand there instead of starting an order. The owner responding defensively (and one rudely) to several of the poor reviews on here is probably where the staff inherit their lack of customer service skills. Go to Wild Oats or Bohemian instead.

Lovely spot with a sunny sidewalk area with tables. The Little Dog blend coffee was very nice and I usually give for the darkest coffee. This coffee was smooth and roasty and a little sweet, and I drink it black! Enjoyed my breakfast sandwich. The egg was fluffy, and the service was very polite.

They have an actual wheelchair accessible bathroom which is AWESOME. Many places advertise as "handicap" but people who use wheelchairs struggle with doors opening in the wrong direction, not enough room to close the door, etc. But this place is spacious and open not only in the dining area, but bathroom and ordering areas as well. Thank you!

This cozy little coffee shop is within walking distance to the downtown Maine Street and recently went through a refresher! With new owners and fun new evening hours with open mic nights and board game nights, etc you have to check them out. They have a wide variety of specialty drinks and delicious treats. They have a specials everyday for your breakfast, lunch, and special menus for their events. There is ample seating inside or outside.
