Nice lunch stop. While traveling, I noticed Bohemian Coffee House and Deli had some house made menu items and locally award winning coffee; we decided to stop here for lunch.My husband and I shared a delicious Reuben with house made pickles and dressing, plus great coffee as promised. I'd like to return for the espresso drinks and there was a nice selection of pastries and bagels in addition to the sandwich menu.I was happy to visit a small independent business that felt quirky and unique - there's a nice reading nook in one area plus hanging plants from the ceiling. I always love a chunky diner mug. Staff were friendly and attentive!I look forward to visiting again. Super tasty and comfortable.

I recently ventured into the Bohemian Cafe in Brunswick, Maine, and regrettably, my visit was far from satisfactory. The moment I set foot inside, it became apparent that cleanliness and the overall presentation of the establishment were not on their priority list. What might have exuded a cool and boho-chic vibe in 1998 now appeared antiquated, dusty, worn-out, and melancholic.The tables were uncomfortably sticky, and the general ambiance seemed neglected. Witnessing a blatant disregard for basic hygiene was disheartening and had a noticeable impact on my overall comfort during the visit. The fundamental aspect of cleanliness, essential for any dining establishment, was sorely lacking at the Bohemian Cafe.Now, onto the coffee – it was nothing short of atrocious. The discovery that unused frothed and steamed milk is reused and put back into the fridge for reuse was appalling. Having lived in Seattle, where coffee is practically a religion, my standards are high, but this practice is outright repulsive. Beyond the milk debacle, the espresso extraction was poorly executed. A full pull for one shot typically takes 20-30 seconds, yet my two shots took a mere 10-15 seconds. The result was a bitter, miserable, and dreadful concoction, exacerbated by the use of flat, unfrothable, and recycled milk, making it utterly nauseating. I will be informing the Maine Health Department.As for the food, it was worse than hit-or-miss. While some items on the menu seemed promising, the reality fell disappointingly short of expectations. The dishes lacked the freshness and attention to detail one would anticipate, leaving much to be desired in terms of both taste and presentation. The menu itself appeared like an afterthought, with items haphazardly stuck on with stickers or crossed off with tape.In summary, my experience at the Bohemian Cafe was a letdown. Issues with cleanliness, abhorrent coffee practices bordering on health violations, and subpar food quality collectively contributed to an unpleasant visit. I sincerely hope the management takes these concerns seriously and implements the necessary improvements to offer a more enjoyable experience for future patrons.If the cafe continues down this path, especially with the questionable milk practices, it may not be long for this world – and for that, we are to be thankful.

Adorable little place with the kindest workers. The onion bagel was outstanding!! Nice and crunchy on the outside but soft on the inside. The eggnog latte and drip coffee were very good and not burnt as well. Wish I lived closer.

The food and coffee were good but this place is so dirty inside. Dirty glass on the display case, full of old crumbs. Run a wet rag over the creamer/dish table daily. Strip and wax the floor twice a year. It doesn't take a lot.

Great coffee! I love a good light roast, and they have a ton of options. My partner loved the cinnamon scone. We stopped by while we were in Brunswick for a weekend wedding, and everything was so tasty we came back again the next morning before we left.

Dude behind the counter was amazing! He never dropped his professionalism even when faced with a difficult customer regarding her "service" animal. ADA guidelines are very specific and I applaud him for upholding them. An emotional therapy dog is not the same thing. I admire how he handled the situation and am extremely impressed with his demeanor. Not once was he rude or disrespectful to the woman. Add to that fact the coffee is delicious...well done! I will be back😁

We were traveling through Maine from Colorado for a wedding and stopped in Brunswick prior to our flight taking off for some coffee and lunch. I got an iced americano and iced mocha both great tasting and refreshing. We got two deli sandwhiches and a breakfast sandwhich because I couldnt decide and they were all delicious and freshly made right in front of us. If your traveling through for lunch, breakfast, coffee, or baked goods this is a must stop spot. The staff was also friendly and welcoming. Thank you for ending our Maine trip on a high note!

The Baristas here are down to earth real people that you can understand and empathize with when they're doing their job. The owner's a bit of a knob but that seems like the status quo for all small businesses in this area. It seems like a majority of their baked goods are frozen and trucked in then warmed up on site. There's sandwiches are amazing made fresh in front of you as you order it, the coffee, cannot complain, and would recommend a double shot of espresso.

I got a slushy which was good and a scrambled egg breakfast sandwich that was equivalent to a breakfast sandwich to a gas station or a convenient store. 1. Frozen sausage Patty and pre cooked bacon heated up microwaved up with a fozen egg patty? Easy pass. If you want a real breakfast sandwich go to union street. 2. So dirty! The baked goods case was dirty and the kitchen looked very dirty. 3. Service was very nice, the younger man that served me was very nice and easy going. He should be running the kitchen as his attitude was top notch.Overall, 2 stars. Get a griddle and fresh ingredients or take it off the menu. I can't speak to the baked goods but the rest was decent but not great.

We sincerely wanted to support this local business but between the cold food and cleanliness issues, this is not a place we recommend. We couldn’t eat our breakfast sandwiches as the precooked egg was still cold. Sandwich parts are heated in a microwave. The outside of the microwave visibly needed a cleaning. The floor was beyond filthy and the restroom appeared to not have been cleaned in a long time. I’ve used cleaner portable restrooms. If there was a cleanliness rating this place would deserve a 1 star. Between the cold food and dirtiness, we decided it was best to throw our food away and eat elsewhere. The place is very busy so I think it’s a hit with locals.

What a sad sack of a place. Run by two men who are neither friendly nor helpful, and who just look unhappy. The place - especially the bakery display case – is unkempt, and slovenly, littered with crumbs and seeds from old bagels.I can’t imagine a place I would rather eat less. What I can imagine is them blaming Starbucks for stealing their business - but Starbucks are clean and sparkling and full of friendly, helpful people. Get it together, Bohemia, or go out of business.

This place has great food and friendly staff. It has a lot of potential, if it were cleaner this would probably be a 5 star review... but It's disgustingly dirty, it appeared at though the floors hadn't even been swept in a very long time. There is a layer of grime on every surface that I could see, it makes me have concerns about the cleanliness of the kitchen and of proper food handling. Someone needs to do a real good deep clean. Seeing older lower reviews stating the same, I'm going to assume this has been a long time issue, I'm really not sure how they even pass a health inspection, in 2019 there was a cleanliness violation you can find on Maines health Inspection website.Cleaning should be part of every employees duties.

The good: nice big croissant that tasted wonderful. My husband enjoyed his cinnamon twist as well. The gentlemen at the counter were very friendly and quick with our order. Because I liked them, I wanted to post a review. This is a cute place and could be awesome if the owner fixes a few things. The bad: my cappuccino was made well but the beans were overly roasted and tasted burnt. My husband's coffee tasted weak. The ugly: the floor was dirty. My husband's back stuck to his chair. Some of the chairs needed repair. The bathroom was tolerable but not as clean as it should be. Overall it didn't feel clean inside the cafe--and that's such an easy fix! Hope to see an improvement next time we pass through.

The coffee is pretty good. It is a busy place sometimes and there can be a long wait. That's not their fault, but I've had to skip it a few because I couldn't wait for 20 minutes.The food is decent if you're on the run. Nothing too exciting on the menu. The staff is great though. No complaints about the service.It's a good place to grab a drink before wondering the campus or doing some shopping.
