The largest, and thus our favorite, Sherman's. I could spend hours shopping here. I always leave with a book or three, some gifts for friends, and stationery. Their points system beats any other bookstore I go to. I regularly have either $10 or $20 off because of the points I make on purchases and I usually spend less than $50.I love the assortment of books, the books on sale, the best Maine themed gifts, the biggest Maine themed/basrd book selection. Jewelery, candles, tea towels, puzzles, games, beautiful stuffed animals...

I love a good independent bookstore and this one was so fun, great variety of books and more, tons of sale and bargain books as well. They do also have a pretty nice stationary section 10/10 recommend.

Lovely book store that has everything with decent prices!! Definitely get your stickers and all souvenirs from here, we are regretting to wait buying stuff from Bar harbor ( not many options with high price tags). Very friendly staff and environment.

This was our first visit to Boothbay Harbor and our visit to Sherman's was the icing on the cake. Books are one of my deepest loves and I was so impressed by their selection, displays, and helpful staff. Besides that, I think this was one of my favorite stops for quality souvenirs and thoughtful gifts. Sherman's is an absolute must if you're taking a stroll - just pop in or I'm sure anyone could find themselves losing track of time inside!

Wonderful two level bookshop. It has Maine souvenirs, toys, tons of puzzles, kitchen wares, a art/office supplies, journals for everything of person and of books and more books. There is no bathroom for use. Pretty difficult to push a stroller around or be handicap accessible. Staff was pleasant and the environment engaging.

We LOVE Sherman's! A wonderful gift shop featuring Maine items. Great toy section including plush animals. Book store is upstairs: lots of discounted books, good selection of audio books, and a rich selection of hard cover and paperback books on many subjects including Maine nature, geology, marine science, history, and recreation. The staff are engaging, friendly, and helpful. Always getting in new things. Stop in and tarry a while.

A perfect vacation supplies headquarters! Sure they have lots of books, but you can also grab one of their many puzzles, some sports equipment, random toys, supplies for a good water fight, and a wide selection of Maine-related gifts.A fun place to browse. Spend any time here and you'll likely walk away with something.

A new book by my favorite author came out while we were staying here. I ordered for pickup here thinking it might sell out. Got it in no time on release day and staff was super friendly. Picked up a couple other nice things. It’s a nice small chain that’s very oriented towards Maine. Definite stop for book lovers.

I love browsing this store when I come up from Maine. When I was little, my mom used to get me horse toys from here and I loved them! Now a days I like to get books from here, especially their colouring ones. I wish they had more though as there is only a few types of them.

I love going into any bookstore, but Sherman's has a very pleasant atmosphere. They have a massive fiction section upstairs, a large discount book area, a comic book and graphic novel section, and even an entire selection of high-quality maps.Downstairs, you can buy children's books and toys, as well as various knick-knacks and novelty items.I only gave them one star off because they either didn't have a non-fiction section entirely, or it wasn't marked very well and I missed it.Either way, it's a great book store.

I dig this place and not sure why exactly, but probably because u can wander around aimlessly and feel as if u have stepped back in time- even if that step back is just 20 years ago before the age of eBooks and Amazon. They don't have the largest selection of books but what they have is well curated and certainly worth a visit while u sip a hot coffee or tea from one of the coffee shops next door.

This place was so amazing. They had everything from fidget toys, animal figurines, every book you can imagine, school supplies, socks, wooden bouys, and so much more. Booth bay is 100x better because of this shop being in town.

The definition of a small book store. Located just off the main harbor, this store features two stories with the lower story having numerous items ranging from kitchen devices through greeting cards through memorabilia related to booth bay and Maine. Going up the stairs you enter the book area where there is a sizable bargain book section and then several smaller book shelves with various topics ranging from computers (out of date materials from what I saw ~2016 updates) to travel. There is a sizable nautical book area with charts and the like as well. Service is good and efficient and I would like to have seen some more gaming books (tabletop RPG or otherwise) and some more updated books from what they have now. I always stop in every year and pick something out of the bargain bin.

Great little store . Have a li t the of everything. Books are upstairs and places to seat and read. Down stairs are all of your novelties, everything from candies ,unusual fold out cards , mugs, maple syrups in all kinds of flavors those are by the stick. ,of course your salt water taffy, all kinds of knick knacks,, very cute. Definitely something to stop and see

Sherman's bookstore is open year round with a great variety of books . has Maine stuff and a good assortment of toys .i picked up 3 educational toys for my 2 year old .and a couple of books from their bargain shelves . have good luck getting presents there

Fun place to shop and they have BOOKS! Lovely staff that invited us to stay after we made our purchase. It was pouring out and we were told to stay as long as we liked. "We're open til 10. No need to go out in the rain!"

This place has a lot of souvenir type stuff, but nothing real unique. A lot of it is the typical tourist junk. But they do have a lot of other random items in this store (eg. a few cooking utensils), so if you need something check here. Books are upstairs along with the book people.
