I am a pub kind of guy! And this one did not disappoint! We came in for dinner after a long day of lounging on a rainy day in December. The pub is located in the basement of the Sudsbury Inn. The pub was crowded, but the atmosphere was laid-back and pretty chill. We were greeted and sat after about 5 minutes. Big wood tables, a large bar in the middle of the space, and a stage and dance floor. We all got drinks. I especially loved the Pabst Blue Ribbon $2.50 draft special! Everyone of the 5 of us enjoyed their meals. We had the baked Haddock (2 orders). Nicely done and served with rice and veggies. (We had one made gluten free without the bread crumbs.) I had the Carnivore pizza. I have to say, I am from NY and a bit of a pizza snob, but the pizza was surprisingly good. The small pie was more than enough for me and to share. Crust was great, perfectly cooked and topped with ham, pepperoni and sausage. We also had the veggie burrito (which was huge and loaded with cheese on the outside!). We added grilled chicken. My son had the haddock sandwich, which he loved and the sweet potato fries, which were excellent. I would have liked a maple dip.The service was excellent and friendly. A live musician played a couple of sets while we were there and we thoroughly enjoyed the entertainment, food and atmosphere of the pub. This may become our go to place when we come back!Vegetarian options: Veggie burrito was HUGE!Dietary restrictions: Gluten Free options and accommodations were made.

My family & I have been vacationing yearly in the Bethel area for over 20 years. It has a family friendly atmosphere, but an enjoyable bar area as well. We stop by for dinner at least once a trip, sometimes more. The food is always great. The Lobster Artichoke dip and wings are always a must. We had pizza this trip, but the burgers are great too. The chicken strips are a huge hit with the kids & I love them too. We haven't had anything we didn't like. The service is always great & the staff is friendly. If you're in the Bethel area, I highly recommend stopping in.

Portions were big and the food was good. Some good kid friendly food options for picky eaters. Pretty sure it's a super old building so getting down into it is a narrow staircase and then you have to squeeze through some tables to really get in. But definitely not a deal breaker for my family. We will likely return for another visit in the future.

I should have known when I asked a local if we should eat here and she said, ‘no’. My husband and I sat at the bar and ordered some drinks and two meals: 1) soup and fries 2) a veggie burrito. The soup and fries came out promptly, but it took 30 minutes to receive my husband’s burrito. The bartender apologized, and basically said “it happened to others and we were not alone”.Bottom line….drinks are strong and I recommend. Food is mediocre at best and your family might be eating at the table at different times. Drink here yes, but eat before you come in.

My mom couldn't come down the stairs. (Not handicap accessible). Although after asking the bartender what other way or option we have to come in. He just repeatedly kept saying, "we'll get her in."My parents couldn't eat with the rest of us there so we had take out. Had a few beers while we waited, but overall, the food was very good! Our waitress was nice too!Parking: No Handicap spots as well.

We're from way out of town. Got a takeout pizza. Best @$# pizza I've had in decades. I'm no pizza expert but I think they must have made the dough themselves, picked the tomatoes out back, and got the cheese from a local cow or two, besides using actual fresh mushrooms.Overate and I don't regret it. The 29-minute wait (which they warned me about) was well worth it.

Sunday afternoon during peeping/wedding season and it was rockin'. Good beer selection and the fish & chips were great. The staff was doing well keeping their heads above water. It's a comfortable basement bar with an inn above. I stayed in one of their rooms on my way through and the whole experience was awesome

Love that this place is in the basement of an inn. We had clam chowder and crab cakes for appetizers. Both excellent, however the chowder was among the best I’ve ever had. We ordered a second bowl. I had the fish and chips. The fresh haddock fried was outstanding. My kids ate all their food, they split a Turkey BLT. Service was friendly and prompt. If we are ever back in Bethel we will stop in 10/10

We went in for lunch on a Friday so the plae was almost empty. Think there was 5 other people in there. The bar tender was very nice and introduced us to Maine Beer Companies beer named Lunch. The name is a dedication to a whale that swims around near the coast of Maine. It was very good. The food was delicious. I had a Carnavor Calzone, the thing was hugh and must have had 2 pounds of meat in it. My GF had the fish sandwich which she enjoyed immensly. The place is in the basement of a old house turned into an INN. Great atmosphere.I definately recomend the Sud's Pub

Great local spot. Local watering holes, but in my opinion that's the best. Great food, tons of beer and on Thursdays (when I was there) they had live music. I will surely be back!

In the future... If somebody asks to keep a shot/drink on the bar until close, there's a reason... All I ask is to show deeper respect if it ever happens again. My reasoning was dear to me, but I expect nothing from anyone else. There was purpose here and it was quickly lost. Rest easy, Battalion Chief Laird. Your sacrifice will not soon be forgotten.

I used to love their French onion soup..expensive n small as a takeout..but this soup was horrible this time..not dark barely any onions very very salty! Got chicken fingers that seemed like they were pounded out..extremely thin..dry...just not good! Thank goodness for the sauce! I hope they bring up their quality again
