MaryAnn came to us thanks to 3 Paws Rescue. All aspects of her adoption went smoothly. Since her rescue from Mississippi she was treated medically and clearly cared for by those who enabled her to start a new life. Information was accurate, she was well groomed and ready . She is a happy, loving family member. We are eternally thankful to 3Paws.

We can not be more happy with our new family member and the experience we had with this rescue and their team. We waited for the right fit and when she came along they contacted us and we knew right away that she was going to be a our newest love! Our family have fallen in love all over again! Thank you so much for the tireless work you all do to bring these babies to us, their families! They all deserve a home and thanks to you, Micki has one 🧡🧡🧡

Great to work with, love our new rescue pup, she fit right into the family. Their foster network is vast and super friendly. Would highly recommend to anyone looking for their first or subsequent adoption.

I fell in love with an adult dog down south and 3 Dogs Rescue was able to bring the dog in for me to adopt up here in Maine. The process was seemless and the communication along the way was awesome. The work this rescue is doing is so amazing and the individuals are so caring that I give my time as a volunteer with them. I believe in their work and their mission!

Everything about our adoption from this place went perfectly. The dog has been with us for a little over a week and is healthy, the adoption coordinator was super respectful of us and easy to communicate with, and the foster gave us tons of tips that made the transition seamless.

Expressed interest in kitten posted, told it was too early to adopt. Submitted app. 3 Dogs checked refs. Should have been 1st for adopting kitten. 1 week went by, called to check, told kitten was taken by party who visited location. Kitten would have been received in a good home, loving family, no chance of inattention or giving it up for any reason. This is bad business and shows mistrust from a company who went back on their word..

This rescue is unwilling to help re-home dogs if they are not the right fit. They will give you a run-around and tell you they will help you, and in the end they will tell you you’re on your own with an aggressive dog that is unsafe for your family.Extremely disappointed, and looking for a calm home for an aggressive dog who WANTS to be sweet and loved, just has too many triggers for an extremely busy family. Poor pup, the rescue who “saved” her now deserting her.

Adopted through the rescue in March of 2018, again in February of 2019, and adopted my third through 3DR this past summer! The volunteers were kind, responsive, and explained the whole adoption process thoroughly. I now volunteer through this wonderful non profit and can say first hand how thoughtful and caring everyone involved is. I wholeheartedly recommend this rescue! Thanks to you all my family is whole!

My adoption went smoothly and perfectly. I recommend 3 Dogs Rescue to anyone who is interested in animal rescue. They truly love what they do, and were willing to go above and beyond to answer aaalllllll of my questions about the adoption process.

I adopted a dog from this rescue, and had a devastating experience. They were not up front and honest about all of the dog's issues. We were told she was timid and shy, but would come out of her shell in no time. None of these things deterred us from adopting her. We drove over 3.5 hours to pick her up from her foster home. It turned out that the dog was on 60mg of prozac daily. No one from the rescue told us this until we arrived and heard it from the foster family, but they said she should be able to be weaned off without any problems. The foster family also informed us that we would have up to 3 days with her before making any final decisions. We didn't even have her for a full 24 hours before I started getting flooded with calls, voicemails, texts, facebook messages and friend requests from people I didn't even know. You name it. They HOUNDED me for the money. I was appalled. She was showing some alarming signs during the first few weeks that we had her. After giving her the meds, she would dry pant, shake, and stand in place with her eyes closed and just wobble. It was heartbreaking to see her like that, so I talked with my vet about it. He said that 60mg is far too high of a dose for a dog her size, and suggested I start weaning her immediately. We couldn't do it cold turkey, because it would have adverse effects on her. He told me to drop her down every 7-10 days. I did 14 days in between just to be on the safe side. She became an entirely different dog. Super happy, energetic, playful. But only with me. We got her down to 20mg, and she started showing absolute terror around my husband. We always wondered if she was afraid of men because she never really took to him, and any time there was another man at our house she would hide. She immediately loved every woman we introduced her to, though. She became so afraid around my husband that she wouldn't use the bathroom when he took her outside, so it fell on my shoulders. I came home to messes daily because she would go too long without using the bathroom. She would dart under tables and beds to hide as soon as he came home every day. She would growl at him if he went near her. It became a danger to both her, and him. I had to make a heartbreaking decision to do what was best for the dog, and for my family, no matter how much I adored her and wanted to keep her. I couldn't be selfish. I couldn't put her through the terror any longer. It was clear that she may never find happiness at our home. None of this was her fault, or ours. When adopting from this rescue, they make you sign a contract that states you are not allowed to do any form of re-homing without their written consent. It made it feel like she was never really mine to begin with. I wanted to find her a home with just women where I knew she would flourish and be happy. (She came from a foster home of just women, and I don't think that was on accident) They refused to let us re-home her, and said they would take her back. I was later told that if the former foster family didn't take her, they were going to send her back to the shelter in Mississippi where she came from. They would rather get rid of the dog entirely, and send her back to the very place they 'rescued' her from, than to give us permission to find her a home, or to admit their wrongdoings. It's disgusting. They charge a $500 adoption fee which is supposed to include all vaccinations, fecal testing (for worms), de-worming, microchip, spayed/neutered, heart worm testing/prevention, and flea/tick prevention. She showed up with tapeworms that needed to be treated and no microchip. Because of this, along with the high dose of prozac, I truly do not believe she ever saw a vet while in there care. Where does the $500 adoption fee go if she didn't come with the proper vetting, treatments, or micropchip? After all of this heartache and devastating decision making, they make a nasty post on their Facebook page telling complete lies about why we surrendered her back. They blocked all of my attempts of telling my side. Unprofessional, dishonest, and cruel.

Terrible rescue. We 'adopted' a 1.5 year old dog from them, they said she was a perfect, amazing dog, did well with everyone and everything. We drove a little over 3 hours to go see/pickup the dog, of course the dog seemed skittish while in their house, which we were assured was normal for her. We ended up driving home, and have had the dog for 5 weeks, it's terrorfied of men, (which I am) during this time, we discovered that she had worms, hadn't been microchipped (both of which was included in the $500 adoption fee) and was on 60mgs of prozac which we were told by our vet, that it was way over the recommended amount for the size of the dog.We decided that it would be best that the dog goes to a home that only has females, so we thought surrendering her would be the best as we were basically legally trapped in a contract stating that we'd have to contact them first to find a new home for her. This made it extremely difficult to find a home for her, as the 'rescue' took a long time to respond, and potential homes for her would either lose interest due to us not having any new information, or would find another dog.To add insult to injury, they wouldn't even have anyone come pickup the dog, so not only are we out of a dog (which my wife absolutely loves, but sees that she'll never be happy here as the dog is literally terrified of me) but we're also out $500, and the 6 hours plus the gas it took just to go get her, plus the time to drive her back, as well as the gas.Do NOT do any kind of business with this 'rescue' they're a joke, the founder's name is on the dogs prescription bottle, indicating that they just give dogs drugs in hopes that it will cover up their issues, rather than actually helping them and finding a proper, loving home that suits both the dog, and the people. They're literally just looking for money.

The owner described our experience as "unacceptable", " frustrating" and "unfortunate."We would describe our experience working with 3DR as overwhelming, disappointing and absolutely draining. In our experience, this company has been dysfunctional and the owner agreed returning our adoption fee "would be the right thing to do." After several weeks, we have yet to receive it or hear back.
