Seafood Ketch truly exceeded my expectations in every aspect! From the moment we walked in, we were greeted by the warmest and friendliest staff. Their genuine smiles and attentive service made us feel instantly welcomed and at ease. Now, let's talk about the food—it was simply divine! The menu boasted a wide variety of options. From the first bite, I knew I was in for a treat. The flavors burst in my mouth, showcasing the quality of the ingredients used. The food was perfectly cooked, and paired with delightful accompaniments that elevated the overall taste. The ambiance of the restaurant was equally enjoyable. It had a cozy and inviting atmosphere, with tasteful décor and comfortable seating. The soothing coastal vibes further enhanced my dining experience, making it a perfect place to relax and indulge in fantastic seafood. All in all, Seafood Ketch is a hidden gem that I highly recommend to all seafood enthusiasts. With its friendly and attentive staff and the mouthwatering dishes that leave you craving more, this restaurant has undoubtedly earned a special place in my heart. Stopped here randomly on one of our drives around on vacation. In my experiences I've had dining in Maine, this place wasn't the best. The service was good the girl was very friendly and fun. We sat outside which was a choice and the view was awesome but there was a really bad smell of sewage out there and being that this may not be something that can be controlled I'm not even going to take that into consideration in my review but I had to mention it because I was not the only person commenting on it, other diners were complaining as well. I had a lobster roll with fries. Fries were great, the tarter sauce was so good I could have drank it lol, lobster roll was decently portioned and this is probably my fault but I was really wanting a warm butter poached lobster roll and it was cold with mayo and lettuce. The roll was awesome the lobster just didn't have any flavor unfortunately and this is because of the way it was made. It it were warm I'm sure I would have rated it a 5 out of 5. My boyfriend got fried seafood platter and he said that it felt like it was just frozen seafood which we wouldn't expect in Maine we would expect that back home. Very cute little restaurant with a wonderful view and very nice service, just not in my top favorites.

As visitors from out of state we made our way away from Bar Harbor looking for a more authentic experience. It was cool to see a working harbor and it made a great back drop. It felt maybe a little more like "real" Maine. The food was fresh and yummy. Waitresses were all friendly. I had my first vegetable in 3 days and was super grateful for plain ole fresh green beans.

Small town family atmosphere with the luxury of a oceanfront view! I can’t express enough how lucky I am to have such an amazing eatery to take my kids to right here in my own “backyard” I took my daughter here for a daddy/daughter dinner date and everyone from the owners to the waitresses are absolutely the best you will find in all of MDI. Our waitress was outstanding. I highly recommend the chicken Mediterranean sandwich and “ketch” fries and my daughter who is very picky recommends their BLT :)

Nice seafood restaurant in Bass Harbor. Would recommend getting the calamari, clam chowder and lobster roll. The lobster seafood casserole was good, but the quantity was a bit small. They do give you two sides for the seafood plates. They serve bread and butter while you wait for your order. If you're visiting the lighthouse, consider stopping by here for lunch/dinner, as you'd likely get a bit more value for money than eating in a restaurant in Bar Harbor.

Best lobster experience on the island! Quality lobster, excellent service, awesome location, beautiful views!!! We all had the same meal - lobster dinner with different sides - the french fries were excellent, coleslaw fresh, green beans yummy and crunchy. Definitely has the family restaurant vibe going on with the staff taking there time to interact with us - so relaxing and away from the crazy of Bar Harbor!!! And the views don’t get any better with in sunset colors! A must if you’re looking for an excellent lobster dinner, reasonably priced with great service and location and a very relaxed laid back style!!!

My first full hardshell lobster experience! Was able to catch them on their opening day this year and I am so happy I did - this time of year is when the best lobster eating happens! After some instruction on the best way to go at it by our server, I was able to enjoy the most delicious lobster meal I could ask for. My wife ordered the Lobster Seafood Marinara and we also split a bowl of the lobster bisque (we had a delicious time dipping their fresh baked bread into it - which by the way is some of the best table bread I have ever had). Everything was insanely fresh and delicious - we had a wonderful time.If you find yourself on a Bar Harbor vacation, skip the touristy spots and head over to Bass Harbor and try this absolute GEM of a spot.Kid-friendliness: We visited with a toddler and high chairs were avaiable / atmosphere was kid friendly

Finally had a chance to visit, and was very happy! We had a beautiful evening on the porch - and when it got a little cold for my Floridian blood our sever Lindsey let us move inside. The kids played in the rocky beach (that she recommended) and it was so nice to have them busy, while my husband and I waited for our food. It was a fun night, and we will be back on our next trip.

5 stars for view, location and food. We had a table overlooking the harbor with the lobster boats and sail boats floating at their moorings. A nice breeze was comfortable on a sunny day. I had a small salad and the Bass Harbor Seafood sandwich with the sweet potato fires and an iced tea that was refilled. The reasonable price alone would recommend the restaurant but the meal was as good as the view. The menu has a variety of items if you do not like seafood. The staff were great with friendly and professional service.

Great view, rate +++Garlic steamed mussels is definitely the best course of the day, fresh, tasty, full of flavor. Seafood sandwich is good, as well as the sweet potato chips.Lobster marinara is a little bit plain, though. And huge thumbs up for the predinner bread, freshly baked and fluffy.

The best calamari we had on the island. My wife enjoyed her fish sandwich a lot; my seafood sandwich was decent but nothing too wore home about. Chowder was ok. Kids’ fish (haddock) and chips lunch was good. We sat outside by the docks; the view was wonderful as we watched the terns circle and fish in the harbor. Service was ok.

Located right on Bass Harbor, the Seafood Ketch not only has a beautiful view it has the freshest seafood! The staff is friendly and attentive. For this land lubber, they set me up with a delicious chicken alfredo that was not on their menu!!! Kudos, Staff! (Recommend the spinach and artichoke dip. The asiago cheese sends it to the next level of deliciousness!)

My go to place when on MDI. I’ve eaten here several times and have tried almost everything on the menu. My favorites have to be the fried clams, calamari and spinach and artichoke dip served with pita chips… YUM. Their bread is homemade by the owners, best bread i’ve ever had.Hannah and Devin work the bar and both are amazing! Such a fun place to hang out, eat great food and all with a killer view overlooking the harbor. It is an absolute MUST.

We arrived right at opening on a Sunday and by the time we sat down about 4 other couples showed up.It was their last day opened for the season. They were out of a lot of things including most things lobster. We decided to stay because not much else was open.Their bread was super fresh and delicious.I had the scallops. They were not that great, had a funny taste and had no sauce or even butter. It came with veggies. I received 4 pieces of lukewarm zucchini. The fries were ok.My husband had the shrimp scampi with rice and it was pretty tasty.Overall it was ok. I’m sure during peak season it’s better.

Just stopped here for lunch on a bright sunny clear afternoon. Sat outside on the deck. Excellent friendly service. Great ambience.Lunch was a clam roll, coleslaw, iced tea. It was a perfect harborside meal. The seafood was fresh. The iced tea was cold. And the weather stayed breezy and bright. This is a great place to eat and relax.

Delightfully hidden on the way to the Bass Harbor Light, Seafood Ketch is a family owned and operated seafood restaurant. They give a whole new meaning to "from trap to table" as the dock is just ahead on the water. The chef is happy, proud of what he creates and willing to come out when he can and talk to the customers. We had the scallops, seafood salad and the heavenly calamari.

Wow! We spent days cramming into spots in Bar Harbor chasing what we were hoping to find. . . And then we found Bass Harbor and the The Ketch. Great vibes, (we had been hiking all day and they treated us like we go there every week), best lobster roll we’ve had along with the best price, huge portions, and all around delicious and amazing! Our waitress was the bomb and had great advice for our trip. And the sunset was spectacular.

This was my favorite place for lobster in Maine. The service was good the view was great and my first whole lobster! I also had the steak and the steak was the best I had in Maine. If your looking for a place that's not overcrowded and off the beaten path I definitely recommend it! We stayed near by but I would make the drive if we didn't. Price was considerably better than the place I had the same meal in Bar Harbor. Beware the mosquitoes if your there late!!

We went here on recommendation from the place we are staying. It was rainy so no seating outside. We waited in the bar for our table. The bartender was very nice! We were seated and the waitress was nice also. The place is very cozy and we loved the atmosphere but that was it. We ordered an appetizer that never came and when they brought our food the response was "ya that should have come first". Told them to cancel it. The actual meal took quite some time to come out. I ordered the Mediterranean haddock and the fish was bland (had them bring a cup of suace (was on my husbands fish) and it made it better. My husband had the stuffed haddock and the sauce made the difference. Our waitress never came back to our table and asked us for refills of water or any other drinks the entire time we sat there. I was very disappointed.

Wonderful outdoor seating on bay, delicious food we had the fish sandwich and the seafood casserole. Waitstaff a little preoccupied. We enjoyed ourselves.

Food was a bit expensive but VERY good. Our server wasn't particularly attentive and the decor inside was a bit dated but the patio had a beautiful view AND chairs of varying sizes for those that need a little extra room. I'd definitely eat there again. =)
