I had a fantastic dining experience at The Travelin’ Lobster! The food was delicious, and the prices were reasonable. We opted for the sampler, which included classic, hot, and cold lobster rolls, and they were all tasty, although the hot one had a bit too much butter for my liking. The crab roll was a pleasant surprise, and the clam chowder, despite the abundance of potatoes, tasted amazing. What truly stood out was the ambiance; it created the perfect dining atmosphere. I would definitely recommend this restaurant!

Really good hot lobster roll! I had the large hot lobster roll and had so much lobster that it wouldn't fit on the roll, so I just ate it out of the to-go cup. The blueberry soda is always amazing at any of these restaurants in the area. The blueberry pie was good, but smaller than other places I've tried it at. The hours are pretty limited, and you can almost always expect a wait time. We waited in line for 30 minutes just to order.Parking: We were able to find parking right away, but while we were there, we noticed a few people coming in had to wait for spots.

Stopped at the Travelin' Lobster on our way into Bar Harbor and it was so good! The hot roll was a little expensive but it was expected and the lobster meat that came with it was top notch.The blueberry ale was great and the dessert is a must. We got the blueberry pie and blueberry ice cream, both of which were amazing and a must try.

Stumbled upon this lobster stand post a hike…what a wonderful surprise! Super cute stand with a side bar with barstools and picnic tables. Several different options for lobster rolls, we tried the small classic which was perfect! I had the veggie wrap with hummus and it was surprisingly good. The salad with lemon dressing and blueberries was very refreshing. Local IPA from the Atlantic Brewing company was so refreshing! I wish I could say that this is an undiscovered gem but when we drove past it on Saturday there was a long line! I can see why, so delicious!Vegetarian options: Veggie wrap with hummus…great!

My wife and I had this place on our list while visiting Maine solely for the Sampler Lobster Rolls. I was surprised when I arrived as to how long the line was. But let me tell you after I received my food I quickly realized why. It was phenomenal! The lobster rolls were my favorite out of all the places I tried while being in Maine. Followed closely by The Maine Lobster Lady. The bread for the rolls were perfect and they were STUFFED with huge portions of lobster. Couldn’t have asked for a better presentation followed by flavor. My wife ordered the lobster grilled cheese and it was delicious. The icing on the cake was the lobster claw the put on top of it. I HIGHLY recommend trying this place if you have not yet before. You won’t be disappointed. 10/10

We came here twice during our trip. Simply the best whole lobster around! No frills, reasonable market pricing (changes daily). Fisherman run and owned.DINNERI got the 1 1/4 lb lobster dinner (comes with a whole lobster, whole corn, mussels, and melted butter). The lobster was perfectly cooked. My husband got the lobster roll sampler, they did not skimp on lobster! His favorite was the hot roll.We also got a blueberry beer (good) and the blueberry pie with ice cream (delicious). Do not sleep on the blueberry pie! It was lovely (not too sweet, yummy blueberries, with a scoop of well made ice cream).LUNCHThe lobster Mac and cheese was delicious. It had multiple crab claws and was very rich and creamy. We also got the crab dip, it was okay.Line moves pretty quickly and the staff are great.

15 minutes outside Bar Harbor is this little gem of a lobster joint. Nothing fancy just perfectly cooked lobster, steamers or local fresh shucked oysters. Honestly the best lobster roll I’ve ever had and the portions are enormous. I would highly recommend venturing off the tourist spots and giving this a shot.

Hands down our favorite. Great selection of food and drink options. Prices are great. 3 Out of our 4 nights in Bar Harbor, we have made this our dinner spot. The owner is super friendly and the servers are attentive and timely. Lobster dinners are great. The blueberry pie is awesome and the blueberry beer and soda are great as well. Parking is easy. Lots of kids and dog friendly. Corn hole and fire pits are available for entertainment while you wait for your order to be made to perfection.

Waited over a half hour both times I visited during my trip to Acadia but it was well worth it. The crab melt is the best thing I’ve eaten in a while. The lobster roll BLT was also incredible. Friendly staff with a laid-back outdoor eating area.Dietary restrictions: They have gf rolls which was awesome!

This was our 1st lobster roll on our trip to Maine this year and they were delicious! I had the hot (butter) roll and my wife had the classic (Mayo) roll. They were the best lobster rolls we've had so far on this trip. 😋We placed our order and went to a picnic table with our # and out order was brought to us. Yumm!! 😍Service was quick & friendly!

We were fortunate enough to hit the Traveling Lobster the last day they were open in 2023 and we are so glad we made it. The Sampler plate of Lobster rolls was fantastic and my seafood averse spouse loved her Mac and cheese and blueberry pie a la mode. I’m not sure when we’ll get back to Maine, but if we’re within a few hours of this place we’ll drive to make it back!

Nothing to improve. I’ve probably had 30 lobster rolls in the Boston area in the last 10 years but this lobster was the freshest I’ve ever had. Super friendly staff.Blueberry pie and blueberry ice cream…wow. Flaky crust and tasty berries. The ice cream was amazing.

Ate here twice because it was so good! Without a doubt, one of THE BEST lobster rolls I've ever eaten. I got the hot buttered roll, my guy had the cold roll (PS if you're indecisive you can get a "flight" - hot, cold & naked).Hunks and chunks of lobster meat STUFFED into a perfectly buttery bun.We also got a side of crab dip which was fantastic as well.The outdoor bar atmosphere and a view of the lobster pots was fun too! I love this place.

Bend me over, slap my a**, and call me Sally! That was one of the most delectable meals I’ve had in a very very long time, and definitely the best I’ve had in Maine. Best lobster roll I think I’ve ever had. And the lobster grilled cheese panini was so good. The choice of sourdough bread and havarti cheese was perfect and complemented the lobster very well. The clam chowder was perfectly seasoned. Everything was very fresh and with the volume of customers going through there, there’s no doubt that the seafood is all fresh. Decent draft beers too, big fan of the bright side and blueberry IPA. I’m telling you if you’re in the area and like lobster (or clam chowder… or crab… or anything else you see on the menu), you HAVE to give it a try. This is 100% going on the very coveted “Dan’s Good Food List” (which I just made up). I’ve been coming to a Acadia for the past 15 years and this is my first time trying this place. But now this will be a must stop place every time I’m up here.The staff was also very nice and friendly. I went back into line again after eating my food because I want to try something else and one of the staff members noticed. You called me over to the side so I can quickly re-order and I have to wait in the line again.YOU HAVE TO TRY THIS PLACE!Parking: Good amount of parking but it definitely fills up.

This location was astounding. When we arrived we were invited right up to the bar to order and the two servers were incredibly friendly and made us feel like we were friends and made great conversation. The food was incredible, fresh and spot on. Experiencing Maine lobster was a big reason why we came to Maine and we wanted to find a great place to do it. This was that great place and will be a must hit location if we come back.

Absolutely the best lobster roll I’ve ever had (large, hot lobster roll with butter). So much butter, I ate it with a fork with a bit of lobster, a bit of bun, and a bit of butter. So much lobster that I had some solo at the beginning and at the end of the meal. So delicious! Nice IPA as an accompaniment, making for an enjoyable outdoor meal. Extra bonus, had my Springer Spaniel with me in the outdoor seating.

This place is HEAVEN on earth for Lobster lovers like me. We stopped by during our Fall trip to Maine and this was our first stop after a long drive from Boston. We got here around 1 PM and there was a HUGE line of folks ahead of us on a weekday so clearly this place is popular. We stood inline taking in the lobster aroma driving us to insane levels of hunger but we survived. We ordered the following items:1. Hot Lobster Roll: Delicious tasty fresh buttered lobster roll. The BEST I have ever had. Till date I crave these lobster rolls and wish I found them here in Seattle.2. Lobster Bisque: I am not a bisque person but love lobsters so I had to try it here. This was an amazing bisque super flavorful in every spoon. We infact rationed some of the lobster meat from our roll dipped it in this bisque and devoured every drop of it.3. Blueberry pie with vanilla ice cream: They have nailed their blueberry pie. Just the perfect level of sweetness one would want. Their vanilla ice cream was delicious too.We devoured our meal with some domestic beer that was available at the counter. Plenty of outdoor seating here. If you want to re-order additional items, you can directly go to a window ahead and dont need to wait back in line. The staff here is friendly and serves all their meals with a smile. Overall loved this place and highly recommend making this place a MUST visit during your trip to Maine. Please note: they do shut down for the winter and re-open every year around May time frame.

Awesome hot lobster roll!! Don’t be put off by the line if there is one because it’s well worth the wait. You won’t be disappointed.Also (Paul’s wife here) - Recommend the mini roll and some coleslaw for a smaller/healthier meal. My first lobster roll - EXCELLENT!

July 2023: Come early and ready to wait in all weather conditions for some of the best lobster rolls in town! Small hint that if the line is long, you can also order direct from a seat at the bar. It was raining so their bar seats were empty and we were encouraged to come there and we did a hybrid of eat-in and take-out. A few local beers on tap. Beware of mosquitos if you’re like me and are beloved by biters, wish I had put on spray beforehand! Took home lobster rolls to family, the hot lobster roll meat gets separated into a small container. First thought they had forgot to fill the bun then realized, wow they are smart and thoughtful! Incredible amount for the large, market price was $36 for large, $26 for small.July 2022: 5 stars on lobster. We got large lobster rolls, and they really were packed and massive! Huge claw meat on top, and oozing butter just the way I like it! Crab dip was also tasty and quality steamers.3 stars on setting if you dine there as eating lobster on the side of a busy main road with huge trucks barreling past is less fun. But I appreciate this is a locally owned and a popular spot for great seafood!

Ordered the lobster Mac and cheese, large hot lobster roll, lobster bisque and the blueberry pie and they were ALL on point. Very hearty and tasty meal that really fulfilled our lobster cravings. Enjoyed outdoor seating and 5% off cash payments. Would highly recommend!!

This place was great! The clam chowder was the best I've had in Maine! Lobster roll and crab roll were very good too! They have a nice seating area with a bar that served different types of beer. We had to wait about an hour in line but the wait wasn’t too bad. We ate this while we were heading out of Acadia National Park. It’s a must try after a long day of hiking!
