We've lived up here a couple years now, and The Chart Room is by FAR one of our favorite places to eat. The staff and service are always top notch. We've never had a bad experience. The food is delicious and very reasonable for the area, esp given how many different options they have (starters, sandwiches, entrees, dessert). You can go there for a fancy dinner, oysters and cocktails at happy hour on the pier, or even just burgers after a hike. The inside is a little more fancy, but has gorgeous views of the water through giant windows. The outside is my favorite - you can sit on the pier, you can be out on the deck looking at the water, or you can have the best of both words in their covered screened in porch. Atmosphere is immaculate. This past visit my honey grabbed the chipotle burger (delish), and I got the poke appetizer -- I asked if it was enough for a whole meal and as you can see my server did not steer me wrong š it was SO good, might be my new favorite. We had a couple blueberry beer and let me tell ya, life was good. Thanks for always giving us such a great experience! We will be back soon ! ā¤ļøParking: Spots in their formal parking lot, and you can park along the street easily if it's busy. Plenty of parking !Wheelchair accessibility: Wheel chair accessibility for both the outside seating and inside

Stopped here after a long day in Acadia and it was perfect, my favorite meal of my trip. I ordered the rolls as an appetizer, which were amazing, and came with a delicious strawberry honey butter. I ordered the macadamia nut crusted halibut, which was super good with their lobster cream sauce. Would definitely go back for that alone. I also got their apple cider/ginger beer moctail, which was light and refreshing. Finished off the night with apple crisp, nice and hearty and healthy. Our server was very sweet, and the atmosphere here is very cozy!

We really enjoyed our experience here! Our server Presley was super friendly and took great care of us.The food was fresh with good portions. We had mussels in white wine sauce which was great to share! The lobster stew was quite tasty but was more creamy and not much like a stew with a few pieces of lobster but was delightful. We had the Lazy Lobster which was nice to not have to deal with the shell! We also had the lobster Carbonara, Seafood Linguine and Shrimp Scampi (which was not on menu but we asked to sub for Lobster and Presley was able to accommodate us and it was AMAZINGLY good!) For dessert we had the blueberry pie (SO tasty and not too sweet) and pumpkin cheesecake. Everything was delicious. We got to sit outside which made our experience even better. We would highly recommend this place - Enjoy!

We arrived towards the end of a busy Saturday evening and got seated immediately. Nice selection of cocktails, beer and wine. While on the pricey side, we loved the bread, clam chowder and warm lobster rolls. Our server was working very hard and was pretty on top of things. Had a yummy dessert of blueberry pie ala mode and peanut butter pie. š

If you're looking to get away from the bustle of bar harbor this is the perfect place. Right on the water! Easy and free parking we waited no time at all to be seated. Service was excellent and the food was delicious. The presentation was beautiful. One of the best steaks I've ever had. We had a fog so we did not get to see much of the water but our dining experience was so wonderful that we didn't mind at all.At at about 7:45 on a Thursday.

Loved our experience -- absolutely perfect!First of all, sit at the bar -- full service. And cross your fingers Mikey is your bartender/server! š¤ he's amazing and gives great recommendations! I had a Maine blueberry mojito and a Maine-iac cider. Highly recommend both! š the blueberry mojito used real Maine blueberries, which are mini to any other blueberries I've had but pack a million times more flavor. My husband and I tried oysters for the first time because...well...when in Maine š¤·āāļø. They were wonderful...the horseradish was legit and the red-wine-vinegar and shallot mignonette was the absolute best flavor compliment I've actually ever tasted. We also had fried haddock and mussles to go with our oysters and they were both awesome. I have zero regrets about spooning out all the garlic pieces from the mussel's butter sauce because it was so good. The haddock pieces were the perfect consistency -- each piece of fish flaked apart, not over cooked or soggy. This was, hands down, 5+!!!Make reservations if possible but please don't be dissuaded if not -- try to get a seat at the bar! It's worth a try!!!!Parking: You can also park in a parking lot across the street.

Hostess with braces seems to need a rest or happy pills. She should not be in a front end position. Waitress was excellent. But there was no saving, over seasoned soggy tacos, ( put the slaw on top) half opened minuscule mussels (told they were medium), and chowder with so much thickener it tasted like flour paste. Would not recommend the food here.Very child friendly if, you like other peopleās kids running around your table while they completely ignore them.Stop in for a quick drink and enjoy the view. There is a very nice patio with umbrellas. š„

This place is an excellent spot if youāre looking to escape the touristy downtown area of Bar Harbor. It is located right on the water so the views are amazing as there is outdoor seating. My mom and I were served by Missy who was very friendly and personable which made the experience 10x better!!! The food came out relatively fast and it all tasted good especially the blueberry pie for dessert and I usually donāt favor blueberry pieš³š„§ I would definitely come back as I was pleased within all aspects!!!

Visited Bar Harbor from out of town and wanted lobster to start the trip off. The Chart Room appeared popular as we passed it on our way to our hotel with most of their parking lot being full. So we decided to go here for dinner following our hotel check in. We attempted to phone the restaurant to make / ask about reservations but the phone went to voicemail. We left a voicemail but did not hear back from them within 3-4 hours, so we just went by there at 7pm to see if we could get a seat - as their website does say they take walk ins. Upon entering, we walked to the hostess stand to ask about seating. The hostess,a young female, was very taken aback by our request for a table when we informed her that we did not have a reservation. She seemed slightly annoyed at our walk in request for a table and had to whisper to a counterpart standing behind her. She eventually conceded and asked us to repeat our party size (3) and then asked if we wanted outside or inside. We were then seated inside as requested, which required a walk down a steep ramp outside. Our hostess was impatient because one of our group members recently had knee surgery and is mildly disabled and was taking the ramp slowly - the hostess huffed at the bottom of the ramp as she held the door open and one of our group members had to inform her of the disability to explain why we moved a bit slower. She was a treat. Once sat, our waiter service was good. Our waiter was informative, nice, and quick to check on us. The food was expensive for what it lacked in its pastaās flavor. Our appetizer was a too overly cooked spinach artichoke dip with a hard over-cooked layer. Two of us had seafood pasta dishes which were not seasoned much and lacked somewhat in flavor - one member of the table wondered if she should ask for her own spices to add⦠but the seafood was cooked well. The boiled lobster was also cooked well and that table member loved the dish. At the end of the evening, our waiter did not ask us how we wanted our checks split so he brought us one check. We requested that he split the check between us three and he refused - stating that he could not do that now but that āthereās always venmo.ā Surely he was being lazy in refusing to ask us how to split the checks and then refusing to split them after the fact. Overall not impressed with the service / atmosphere their staff create for this restaurant but otherwise their seafood was well cooked.Parking: Limited gravel parking that fills quickly

The Chart Room was wonderful! The views were beautiful- right on the water. We stopped in for lunch, craving a lobster roll. Our expectations were definitely met! The bun was toasted to perfection and the lobster was yummy. Fries on the side made the perfect combination. Lunch was busy (always a good sign) and it was quick. Lovely experience!

This place is highly overrated. This was my worst meal in my 3 day trip in Maine and by far the most expensive. the rest of the family agrees too. The lobster Mac was $40 and probably the best size portion of it all. the Lobster roll was ok at best. I had a better $12 lobster roll a day later. The only thing this place has going for it is the view!!! I would never go back and pretty much wish I had never stopped.

The service was good, always had our drinks full, the food was good and hot. Overall would recommend coming here. The place was very clean, the bathrooms are clean. The soup was hot, the cheese and bread were great, I just think the base of the broth seemed a little more watery then what I have had before. So maybe the kitchen can change that. But overall the presentation was good. And I enjoyed the afternoon here.

The chart room restaurant was amazing place to dine-in because we had an amazing waitress named Val and she recommended us all these meals. She was very kind and sweet to us, and she also recommended us were to go during our vacation time while we are at Maine. The atmosphere was amazing. The ambience was very nice. I am definitely looking forward to come back again specially, to that restaurant.

Delicious food, great ambience and attentive servers. We had been here for dinner. We ordered french onion soup and bang bang shrimp as appetizers. The soup was amazing, very favorful. The shrimp was a little sweet. We then had blackened Atlantic salmon ( one of their specials) with a side of french fries and sea food medley with boiled potato on the side. Both the entrees were absolutely delicious. The potato had no seasoning to it so they can improve on that. We finished off with a blue berry pie which was perfect! Great experience.

Had a very nice dinner here. The prices were fair and the portions were very good. We started with delicious french onion soup and clam chowder! The lobster dinner was a great price and it came with a side. The baked lobster was amazing and completely prepared with no shell! Canāt wait to eat here again!!

Been here 2x in the past 2 years from CT.. good service, good food, reasonable prices which is tough to find sometimes in the area. I had the fish tacos which have an aioli and come with mango salsa and really tasty fries. š Outside seating overlooks the water when it isn't suuuper low tide š

We ate our first meal on a visit to Bar Harbor at The Chart Room and it was incredible - we enjoyed the Lobster Stew as well as Halibut dishes. The service was excellent, and other patrons were kind. Highly recommend to anyone visiting who wants a delicious meal that is also very reasonably priced for what you get!

We absolutely loved The Chat Room! The Blueberry Pie here was the best! We kept going back for more!! They have indoor and outdoor seating options. We chose to sit outside since it was a nice day and it has an ocean front view. Because we chose to sit outside we had no wait time for our table. The food came out much quicker than we expected because they were busy and it was delicious! They had options from seafood, to pasta, to land food and even a kids meal options.

I left this restaurant with a sense of disappointment. We finally decided to have some local lobster and here are all of my honest remarks.Although we were there during Happy Hour and it seemed like a good idea to take advantage of the reduced oysters' pricing, it apparently applied to the bar and the outside area only. Well, we ended up eating a smaller portion, and the oysters were fresh and tasty. We also shared Crab Cakes appetizer that my wife enjoyed and I thought of being a mix of gooey "stuff" that lacked a crispy crust and a pronounced crab taste.Well, let's get to the lobster part. The restaurant offered quite a few options: the traditional whole lobster, Lazy Lobster (out of shell, sautƩed in garlic butter), and Newburgh (in cream sauce). The sides were limited to fries, baked potato or rice.My wife ordered the Lazy Lobster and I asked whether it were possible to have the same dish served over pasta. Our very friendly and well spoken waitress recommended Lobster Carbonara pasta being what I'd enjoy, which I agreed to.While my wife's dish was as expected, mine constituted a plate of a flavorless "cream soup" with linguini with lots of peas and very little lobster or flavor to speak of. It was neither a Carbonara sauce nor could it be called a Lobster Pasta. Do not order it. Period. The waitress was nice to remove this dish from our check, but she should have not recommended it in the first place (hence 4 stars for service). We then decided to give another Maine staple a try, a Blueberry Pie.The crust was clearly salty, the filling seemed to consist of blueberries mixed with something like a jam and the fresh cut up strawberries in whipped cream still had their green stems attached (seriously?).The double espresso was served in a single espresso cup and was overflowing it, but tasted good.Call me picky, but I would not return to the restaurant where so little attention is paid to any essential details.Maybe kids and pets would have a better chance of liking it? It was the first ever menu featuring Kid-friendly cocktails and an Pets-section (see photos).

Last meal in Bar Harbor and it was fantastic! Went around 5:15pm and had a 15 minute wait to be seated. The fish was delicious and I love that they served local beer. The outside patio was nice and relaxing and the blueberry pie for dessert was the best I had all week.

There was a beautiful view here and it's a cute little place. We really wanted to love it, but overall we did not enjoy the food. The scallops were mushy and the crust on the stuffed Haddock was mushy and greasy. Our waiter was very nice, but very forgetful. He forgot to take our order and then ended up taking several orders from people coming in way after us. We didn't get refills after our initial drinks when we sat down. We paid a lot for food we left behind and spotty service. It may have just been a really off night...

I enjoy giving good reviews and this is definitely one of them, the ambience was good and the sea view was amazing but that's not all wait till you get the food... Loaded Lobster rolls and lazy man's lobsters, even the rolls tasted delicious, the calamari was crispy and perfect, the salmon and the salad with it was totally unique. The place was clean and well maintained and eating in the patio is a lovely experience. If you are close to this place do try it without fail

I had the bowl of clammed chowder and stuffed haddock. My wife had the filet mignon. After tasting my chowder, my wife and two kids had to order some. Best weve had on this trip and weāve been through cape cod and boston. Everything was very tasteful - even the green beans and mashed potatoes! If you are in the area, stop by - it will not disappoint. Blueberry pie was delicious alsoParking: Easy and plenty of parking

We were excited to try this as every time we drove by it was packed. Plus you get to dine right on the water. Bonus! We arrived at 1:30 on a Wednesday. Seated quickly as they were not busy. Waited 20 minutes for menus. Waited another 20 minutes for water and to put in order. In the meantime, several other tables were seated, served, paid, and gone before our food came out. We ordered the clam strip dinner, Ceasar salad with shrimp, haddock sandwich, smoked salmon appetizer, chicken tender appetizer. The server came out after we had been there an hour and a half and said our food was taking longer than expected. I would guess they either forgot our order or she forgot to put it in.Anyway- it was over $100 for food that was just ok. We had to shovel it in to be able to make our sunset cruise. No apology from staff, or offer of a discount for waiting 2 1/2 hours for a salad and some fried items.
