The Acadia National Park is such a beautiful place. There is so much to do and so little time to do it. There is hiking, going to the beach, sightseeing, and so much more. I recommend going early because the parking lots fill up pretty quickly. I love the bus shuttle. It brings you all over the place! Be careful of the schedule and route. We got on the wrong one, and it drove us the opposite way. Thankfully, the bus driver was nice enough to bring us to our destination. She went way beyond her route, and we were so grateful. At the information center, you pay the fees, get the maps, and if you need extra information, there are rangers to help you. There is even a jr Rangers booklet for the children. Acadia National Park , I highly recommend it!

The visitor center is where you start your Acadia adventure. Buy your ticket and get a park pass to put in your windsheld. Cost between 20 and 30.00 unless you have a national park pass. Then go on the loop or walk the carrage trail that starts at the visitor center. Be sure to stop and see all the out of this world sites. It was cold and rainy when I was there but still stopped to look around. Make sure to do a junior ranger program. They are free for kids of all ages and you learn a lot.

The visitor center I thought was OK, but in need of a bit of tlc. The bathroom facilities at the visitor center is not sufficient for all the visitors. The park itself is really amazing and one could spend hours and hours there, walking cycling, driving around.

Have to say that Acadia National Park may be my favorite one yet! Stop in at Hulls Cove Vistor Center when you get here. Free bus shuttle every 30 minutes to take you around the park.Parking can be an issue, so plan accordingly. If passport cancelation stamps are your thing, they are plenty around here. But again, plan accordingly two stamps are on islands and have to ferry their. Totally of 12 stamps are available at different locations.Their is also a junior ranger badge that kids can complete and receive junior ranger badges.Absolutely beautiful views everywhere you go.I will be planning another trip here and to spend more time.

We walked up a lot of stairs to reach the visitors center to get a ticket. After we were pulling out of the parking lot we saw there was an upper level parking lot available...lol. Acadia park was beautiful, crowded but we could find a pull over now and then and the vista's were beautiful.

We had a surprise when we went to the visitor center. The sign told us it was 52 steps up to the antisocial center. It was a struggle for us, and several older people were struggling to get up the steps. We went in and asked if they had a handicap accessible entrance. We were told they do, but it's around the corner. As we left, the sign was on the other side of the road, but nowhere near the entrance. Once inside, the staff was great and it was very clean. I hope they make a more visible sign.

Get there early or you might have trouble finding a place to park. You can catch the bus there that takes you around the island. There is a few stairs to climb to get to the visitor center to get a park pass and to the gift shop. Everything moved pretty smoothly at both places. Even though alot of the park is dog friendly they are not allowed in the visitor center.

Staff was great and answered all my questions. There are 52 steps to get to the visitors center, so if you have a handicap placard or plate, use the back road to get up there. (There is a sign indicating the direction.) Cute little souvenir shop too.

Great place to access the carriage road trails for free (i.e., without paying to get into the park) but also the place to get your park pass. Good free shuttle access to the rest of the park and Bar Harbor. In fact I would say it could often be a better alternative to park here rather than Bar Harbor, particularly if you are doing both Acadia NP and Bar Harbor.

You can see great view in this National Park. The whole Island is very enjoyable place and a little bit large, so if possible I recommend to stay inside the island. The National Park visiter center is near Bar Harbor(it is a cute downtown). Maybe it takes about 30 mins from bridge to the island by car. The center you can take map, buy souvenirs and pay for road trip to see around wonderful places. Unfortunately I didn’t have enough time to see all, but I drove up only to top of Cadillac Mountain. If you don’t have time, you have to go here. This is the tallest point in the island so you can see everywhere on the island. Very beautiful. You can get to by your car. But parking lots is not enough to accommodate all cars visiting there. So it would take a longer time to find a lot...Butyou should going here.

All the information you need about Acadia National Park starts here. We parked at the end of the parking lot and started our day here with a 7.5 mile (1 1/2 hour) bike ride straight to Jordan Pond House via Eagle lake carriage road. Here we had our lunch and enjoyed pop overs and a sandwich. We left our bikes there and hike along Jordan's Pond around South Bubble up to North Bubble. We proceeded over to South Bubble and straight down to Jordan Pond trail back to Jordan House. Total hike was about 4.5 miles (2 1/2 hours). We hopped back on our bikes and headed back on the carriage trails to visited center. A great day and workout in Acadia.

Very unique location with access to the island across a land bridge that emerges every 12 hours or so. Pictures shown are about 3 hours prior to low tide. Definitely a great spot to take kids

It’s a must to visit national park in Maine, the place to see sunrise first in US. There are shuttle buses taking you to the attractions. There are about 11 routes ! At this parking lot I can park my rig with a towing car! The staff are working hard and very friendly.

I was there yesterday and asked the ranger for ideas to explore the area with a baby stroller and he was very helpful. I went twice to ask him questions and both times he answered my questions. I was very impressed with the clear help that I got. (Just a baby tip, a baby carrier is better than a stroller for hikes and a stroller with big wheels is much better than a stroller with small wheels)

Great visitor center for a great national park. The rangers are incredibly helpful about Acadia’s trails and other activities. You can find countless souvenirs and maps here. It is also a convenient hub for the free bus services throughout the island.Beware: you’ll have to climb over 50 steps to get to the center!

Park rangers on site to answer questions. Nice place to visit prior to entering Acadia National Park, plus it's free. Covid precautions are taken seriously so everything is clean and they limit number of people in the buildings. Public restroom was open and didn't have a line to enter.Only 5 people are allowed in the gift shop at a time but if youre only there to get a stamp for your national park passport, the worker manning the store can bring the stamp out to you to save you time. They also only allow one person per party into the building to buy the car or individual pass for the park but you can buy this at the toll station in the park or via your phone while you're at the visitor center. Just show the park ranger you confirmation on your phone and they'll hand you a pass for your car.

Beautiful park. Many trails to hike, many places to stop and enjoy the view. I DO NOT recommend taking the "Loop" bus for the 2 hour ride. Doesn't stop to let you get pictures. Only stops to let people on and or off, plus they don't tell you only 1 side gets to see any views. Wasted 2 hours when we could of driven the loop on our own.

We were not exactly the early birds, arriving at 11 am on Thursday (after 2 hours drive from Camden)Found a parking spot after a couple of circles around.Bought a private car pass for $30.You are supposed to display this pass while your car is parked. Then we started driving on the “Park loop”Nowhere to park along whatsoever. Not at the lake, not at the stables, nowhere. We basically just drove around the island, seeing nothing. The we got back to the parking lot, and had a short hike to the Witch Lake (to get to the hike/bike path, walk backwards along the bust stops)If not for the hike, I would give 1*Basically wasted the whole day.

Hulls cove is a great place to get park information and learn about on going activities as well as to get park passes, maps and small trinkets. Recently re-built the facility is fantastic and you will find the rangers waiting at the desks during business hours ready to help you plan your time in the park and recommend things to do.Hours vary by season so look it up on their web site to be sure but typically run 8 to 5.Staff is super friendly and be sure to pick their brains to figure out what to do in this fantastic park. There are also alot of informational postings on the park, safety and wildlife. Definitely check it out as you start your park visit.
