We hit Coffee Hound Coffee two mornings during our stay in Bar Harbor this year. The food was pretty good but you have to get there early if you want to get the cinnamon rolls. I generally don't have a sweet tooth but could not resist the massive chocolate chip cookies and biscotti. The coffee was also good. The kids got the breakfast sandwiches and the only real complaint was that the avocado was $2 but was just a premade spread, not fresh avocado. What are you going to do? Everything in Bar Harbor is prohibitively expensive and I would not buy it in any other setting.

The perfect Bar Harbor coffee break stop just steps from the water. We got the iced Sand Beach latte and a giant chocolate chip cookie. The latte is perfectly strong and sweet (and they have the good ice…if you know, you know). The cookie is gooey in the middle with crispy edges. No seating here but we found a bench in the park. They also offer popovers, crepes and lobster menu items!

Great place to pick up pop overs if you can't get them at Jordan Pond.I recommend the moose tracks and s'mores latte iced. Breakdance sandwiches were delicious!The little line moves fast and service is good.

This is a really cool coffee shop. It is expensive but the coffee is absolutely excellent! It has limited hours, so you must go in the morning if you want any coffee. I would highly recommend getting the iced coffee here – they’re cold brew is out of this world, perhaps the best I’ve ever had. There is very limited seating no outdoor seating. Service was friendly and fast. Overall I highly recommend this place.

I visited recently while on a vacation. It was cold and windy outside. My solution was the hot chocolate here!!!!! Incredible and definitely warms you up. Very friendly and prompt service! Standing outside the shop, you will quickly be drawn in by the delicious smells.

Strong Coffee! If you like a strong coffee this is your place. I had an Americano and a Mocha Latte, both were excellent. I liked that they give you a buzzer for your drinks. I could tell everyone waiting was more relaxed and browsing instead of crowding near the counter being super alert not wanting to miss their name. Great idea. I didn’t try any of the food.

I found this coffee shop in a trip to Maine. It's local and they roast their own coffee. I highly recommend them. The light roast is very smooth and has a natural sweetness to it. Then for specialty drinks I recommend the lumber jack. It's a dreamy peanut butter and mocha flavor.

Stopped at this place before and after our Acadia by Sea tour and then a couple more times during our stay in Bar Harbor! Friendly staff and a cute shop! They are very quick to turn the drinks around! Much faster than a typical Starbucks in a big city and they have better options! They even roast their own coffee. The watermelon lemonade was perfect! Not too sour, not too sweet, and just the right hint of watermelon.

Great fast service, friendly staff, good coffee. I’ve had gluten free pastries here in the past, now they have crepes and wraps with gluten free options too as well as other food. The lattes are great - would recommend the cold brew and the precipice.

The crepes were delicious, fresh squeezed lemonade was actually freshly squeezed and just the right amount of sugar/Water. The staff was friendly and helpful. We had 30 mins to get back to the ferry and made it with time to spare.

The iced coffees here are phenomenal. Tried the maple leaf latte and drank it so quickly. My fiancé got the Acadian turtle and it’s great for mocha lovers. We did not get to try the food but will next time! Also has a little gift shop area too.

Average coffee shop, nothing special. Quality “beans” but inexperienced barista. Million times better than black fly, but pretty pricey. Pastries looked amazing, but had just eaten a full breakfast so didn’t try.

This is the BEST espresso in the world (and I have no relation to the company). My wife and I had our first sip of Coffee Hound 6 years ago while visiting Bar Harbor. Since then, each year we visited Acadia we'd go get a cappuccino to savor its sweet and creamy crema. Now I buy bags online and make it at home. Man we love this coffee!! Bar Harbor doesn't have a lot of coffee shops. I came here after reading reviews that it's the best of the lot. In the morning I got a medium roast drip, which was pretty good. I came back for a flat white that looked nothing like the other pics on Google Maps. Didn't taste like a flat white either, not great. I'd recommend sticking to the drip coffee here.

We just stopped in twice during our week in Maine to get coffee in the afternoon and also a huge cookie. Service was friendly and coffee was good. We were going to check out the most popular coffee co in Bar Harbor but they’re pushing their political agenda hard so we went here instead and were glad we did. Also brought our kids one day who got some drinks. It’s not cheap but could be worse for a tourist area

We tried the Americano and a Maple Latte and both were delicious. The staff was friendly and helpful and we got our drinks quickly even though it was a busy, rainy morning. Would definitely recommend and return if in the area.

Oh my goodness, this coffee shop has the most delicious Maine blueberry scones that I have ever had the pleasure of eating. The scones are crunchy on the outside, moist in the middle, and a hint of lemon along with the not-too-sweet blueberries. I also ordered a medium roast coffee with caramel, and it was great! It was not stale tasting like some of the big name coffee shops. If you venture to Bar Harbor, try the scones in the morning and go back in the afternoon for the popovers! To top it off, the staff was very friendly and helpful. This place will live a long time in my memory of happy places in Maine.

Very nice people but can't make coffee. These coffees were ordered the same just one was decaf. This was the second try...no ice in an iced coffee? Cream and sugar ratios are awful.

So happy we came here! We’ve been coming to Bar Harbor for several years and was surprised to ‘find’ this place. We actually feel a little dumb for not having been here before but that’s on us, not them. Highly recommend the cappuccinos and breakfast sandwiches. There is a place in our hometown we go to for breakfast sandwiches that we rate 10/10 but after we had this one we might have to change that grading…! These were absolutely delicious and light. Also, the gift shop is so cute and unique. I got a hoodie there that I didn’t see in any other store (in a tourist town like this you tend to see the same thing over and over). Lastly, the woman at the counter was over the top nice. We wish we had gotten her name as she definitely deserves a call out. Younger with darker, shoulder length hair. You know who you are! We came back twice today because of you and cannot wait to be back again!!
