I looked on line for Levi jeans for my Husband. I found a pair at this store that were “available for pick up” for $48.65. I went to the store, found the jeans, went to check out where I was charged $69.99. When I asked the cashier she said online prices were different. I contacted Customer Service who told me to call the store and gave me the direct number. I called and was told to come back to the store for a “Price Match Policy” adjustment. I did. The same cashier who previously checked me out again said prices were different online. I asked for a refund. I was that rude customer. I requested a Manager. Andrew was the Manager who told me online prices and in store prices are TWO separate systems, and I was charged the appropriate price. Your “Policy” on Price Match is a farce!

Hard to navigate and find the section you need. Employees are few and far between. JC Penney responded, saying I could go to their website to order! That's what I normally do, but I was in the area and thought it would be nice to shop in person...something I miss doing! So their answer doesn't work for my complaints.

I was looking for a certain type of jeans that they advertise online. They weren't really jeans....more like chinos. But online, they were advertised as jeans.I read some reviews online and that is what several people complained about.Not really jeans.

While I was shopping for an electric blanket at the Bangor, Maine, location, I was assisted by Kathryn, a fantastic JCPenney employee, whose help, kindness, and thoroughness in finding the exact right product for me was phenomenal. End result: I immediately applied for a JCPenney charge card and left her department located between the blankets and children's clothes departments knowing that I had encountered one of the gems who works for your store.

Had exactly what I needed but after searching for a cart for 30 minutes I found a customer with one who was checking out. Staff said there were only 5 carts in the store (I only saw 2). They say they get taken off the lots. ALL stores have that problem but they replace them so if you are buying a lot (like I did) you can. I would have had to make multiple trips to my car. Penneys is a big enough store that they can afford to replace carts. It makes Penneys low on my preferred list of stores. Maybe a lot of other people too??? Many people were complaining about a lack of carts and it was Christmas time. Corporate may need to rethink their decision not to replace carts.

Clean store with friendly service. However, nowadays the prices are way too high for what the merchandise is. They were asking $320 for a cheap, ill-fitting men's suit that was made out of synthetic fiber and didn't even have any real wool in it. Similarly, men's tops go for $40-$50. This store isn't a luxury store, but it features luxury store prices.That being said, many of the Stafford (JCPenney's store brand) menswear products, especially the ties, are of very high quality. I have a Stafford brand suit that I purchased from JCPenney many years ago for only about $200 that is made with real wool and really impresses.

On 10/16/22, I purchased a Citizens watch at your Bangor, Maine location. I had the pleasure of meet Janice your sales associate. Janice was very knowledgeable about the products and patient while I mulled over my choices. She also went out of her way to get me the best sale price!!! Kudos to JCPENNEY'S and especially Janice!!! Great selection, but the prices are slightly high. I was not impressed during checkout, though. I was ignored by the senior staff member that was training another staff member. I was not bothered by the training as much as being treated as invisible. After the training was completed the senior staff member walked away and continued to not acknowledge my existence. While the new cashier was shy, she did say hello, asked if I had a Penny's membership, and wished me a nice day.

Shoppers need to come more often here. There's always clearance racks, holiday prices are great in clothing sections. The foundry clothes in men's section are heavy duty and priced fair. Sales on those things are worth watching for.

I've always lived this store. The price are good and the staff is very friendly and very helpful. They could clean up the clearance section it's a little messy. But other than that I would recommend people to shop there.

This place is amazing. The store is really old (which I don't mind) but they always have the best clothing deals, they beat Amazon. If you see something you like and it's too expensive, just come back in a couple days and it will be half price from what I've found. I mean I've seen pants go from originally $50 to sale $14 in a few days. They are also really laid back, no hassling or annoying sales people and easy to try on clothes.

Wish they had more plus size girls to choose from. Finally found a size (other than adult) that fits my granddaughter that is appropriate for young adult (10 yes old). Nice design and comfortable on her school remote days.

Even though there is no many stores left at the Bangor Mall Penny's is still there and this is most definitely one of the better ones. I wish they would in store stock the men's big and tall size 6xl and not make it online only

About 2 months ago I came here to buy some jeans. I was able to find what I was looking for with no issues whatsoever. However, the reason I gave it 3 stars was because of a lack of info on a smart watch I wanted. Now I understand that not everyone is tech savvy, but I would expect basic info like how reliable is the product, or do you get a lot of returns. Other than that, it's a great place to shop for clothes.

J.C. Penny is a pretty typical chain store. They are mostly cookie cutter and all feel the same. But that is a good thing. It makes it easier to find things. I am a large man, and their selection of clothing for big and tall men is not very large. Even on sale their athletic shorts and light weight shorts are over $20, and $40-$60 normally. Quite expensive for something you can get elsewhere for half of that price. Also, the selection of larger sizes above 3X is rather poor. I don't know if it is the same in the women's side, but I suspect it is.

Stopped in about a half an hour before they were closing just wandering through the store. Great sales going on and the employees were very friendly and helpful even though they probably wanted everyone to clear out so they could close up. Store was clean and neatly arranged and items were easy to find. Will stop in again when I have more time to peruse the sale items.

Being in the middle of COVID we were pleased to see how well stocked the store was. And my wife found a great deal on a dress that she really liked, so we're all happy. Good service and we love the quality of stuff at Penney's.

Worst ever. Got a pair of earrings a week ago originally $124 (paid $20 for Christmas in july sale)and suppose to be sterling silver. Not even a week and they tarnish. That should not happen. Went to return/exchange and was told without receipt I would get less back then paid. Even though she scanned the product to let me kno how much would get back said needed receipt to get full $20 to prove where I got them. If you can scan them to see how much I'd get back then why can't you use that for full refund. Probably will not be back. I'll shop online
