I can't recommend them highly enough! We had some concerns with our chimney in winter and called and left a voicemail with multiple companies. Of all the places we called, Crump's was the only one to call us back, and we're so glad they did! He came out and gave us an estimate promptly (considering it was peak season for them), and provided us with an extremely thorough and candid evaluation of both our chimneys. He capped, lined, and repointed the brick of our chimneys for a fair price, and provided excellent and professional service all through our entire working relationship. We also felt like we were getting honest, trustworthy advice (and not just being pressured to "make a sale"), which we really appreciated. We hope to not have chimney issues anytime in the near future, but if we do, we will definitely work with Crump's again.

I contacted Crumps in January of this year to set up an assessment for some concerns that I had in regards to two different fireplaces at my house. It took a few months to get him here, which was reasonable considering I called during the busy season, but when the time arrive, he showed up on the day that he said he would when we talked two months ago. His inspection was extremely thorough including getting a good eyeball on the roof, checking out the flashing, checking clearances of combustibles, he assessed the integrity of the brick and capstones. I am fairly educated in trade-based things and every question I asked, he had the perfect answer. He was also very willing to work with me as far as giving me a consultation and providing me with the correct approach to complete my own work. I never felt at any time like I was being sold on a product, which is extremely important to me because the last people I had, the heating lodge/chimney guys, was nothing but a sales pitch with absolutely no information and they also showed up super late so I wasn’t able to be there and ask many of the questions that I had wanted to ask which was why I set the appointment up. Overall Crumps has gained a lifelong. Customer and I will refer him to as many people as possible. Crumps Stove and Chimney is hands down the best. I have been lucky enough to be a customer for the last 8 years. Masonary work, chimney relining, chimney cleaning, stove inspection, cosmetic work on our interior chimney(ken is a perfectionist). They do it all! ABSOLUTELY the best prices around. Ken is very professional, always on time and so knowledgeable about heating. He recommended someone to fix our propane furnace. I recommend Crumps to everyone. we were buying our now current house at the time, they did some work and put a cap on and used a water repellant to fix a leak, it has been a year later and the leak has returned. when I called to see if they would repair their work or to discuss that the work they did only lasted 12 months they refused and made many excuses that "I had warned you water was going to get in there". The owner was very unprofessional. we had another company put in a chimney liner as this company quoted us 10k for a ceramic liner and we couldn't afford it at the time so we put in a metal liner from another company. during the call the owner of crumps reported "they may have put a hole in our work" . who would do that and why would he suggest this? the experience was poor and very frustrating, stay away from this place.Service: Chimney repair & restoration

Arrived in a timely manner and did a great job. Cleaned up mess after chimney cleaning. They weren’t all about just doing a half done job and taking your money, he even told me information to pass on for future cleanings ( if the technician is someone else or we use a different company) & mentioned other reputable companies if they are busy next year and can’t come out as quickly as we’d need. Most companies are all about promoting themselves, not crumps. Out of all the 5 companies I called and left messages with, crumps was the first to return my call & get us in that week :) very thankful that this was the company we went with. We will definitely use them again.

Called for an estimate on chimney repair. They showed up and knocked on our doors, but did not call. We did not see them or hear them knocking. I called that evening to ask why they hadn’t shown up as no one had called or shown up as we could see.They called back the next day and left a very unprofessional message saying we wouldn’t come to the door only after I called to find out what has happened. I called back the next morning and a man was very insulting and told me that we didn’t answer the door for some reason. I explained that we can’t always hear them and did not see or hear anyone and asked why they didn’t call. His response was “we shouldn’t have to” and asked why I didn’t call. I told him he was being very unprofessional as I have never, ever been spoken to that way by a business owner before. I live in Old Town and we don’t treat people that way. I could not believe he was so argumentative and insulting. I generally enjoy all conversations with people who work on my home. This man was so rude I ended up hanging up the phone and I am glad I didn’t do business with him, because if that’s how day one went, I can only imagine it would only get worse. Going to use another company and frankly, don’t need the stress. - A very disappointed and disrespected homeowner

Great service, excellent customer service, they really helped me out when I was in a pinch last year with feet of snow on the ground, so when cleaning came this year I made the same call and will continue to do as long as I burn wood.
