I have not been up the east coast through Bangor for a few years before COVID so I was elated to see this local bakery had survived the decimating affect of that crazy time.A cruise around the block a few times to find a parking spot on a cold March morning was rewarded by the energy of the crowded rooms, the gorgeous baked goods (I wish I could have one of EACH!!!) and the flavours wafting out of the kitchen.I went for the EVERYTHING BAGEL with the SALMON LOX schmear and it was massive ...and delicious...and lasted me all the way to New Brunswick!!! (I checked my records when I got home and I SHOODA ordered the ONION !!!)i will return next time FAMISHED and gorge myself with some take-away baked goods as well.Thanks to all at CENTRAL BAGEL for still being there and for a truly memorable bagel!!!!.

This is an excellent cafe! They have one of the best bagels I have ever tasted, and consistently so. There is a good variety of different cream cheeses as well as a lot of dietary options. In the front they also have many different baked goods and pastries. (everything made in house) I wasn't sure if this place was just local hype, but I assure you, it is amazing and a must visit for any bagel fan.Dietary restrictions: Lot of options. Vegan bagels, vegan spread, dairy free options. Everything is clearly labelled with the relevant dietary information

The food is always spectacular! There’s gluten free options for the bagels too which is great!!Highly recommend the feta and spinach omelette on a bagel 🏻 and the home fries are delicious!I Love coming here!Dietary restrictions: Gluten free options on the bagels!

The reviews really reflect how good this place is!I am in agreement. The location is large and well decorated with plenty of indoor seating if you are sticking around.The food is well priced, we ordered to bagelwiches and shared them.The bagels were fresh and soft, the eggs were well cooked and the cheese pulled and had great chew.The coffee is the best we have had on our travels through the area, beans were not burnt at all, lots of punchy taste in a cup.Parking is street only, but walkability is excellent on the downtown area.

I absolutely love this place! I go to college in the area and was recommended Bagel Central for a good breakfast, it didn’t disappoint. The line was a little long but it goes super fast. Also very child friendly.Kid-friendliness: Very kid friendly. There’s lots of options kids enjoy, and a lot for them to look at inside!

Love the food and atmosphere but the customer service leaves a lot to be desired sometimes. I placed an online order earlier today for their soup of the day, and got a confirmation email saying that I could pick it up in 20 minutes. Instead of calling me to let me know they were out of the soup (You have to provide a phone number when ordering online.), they just tried giving me the "bagel" with cream cheese (They're really not technically bagels because they don't boil them. They're more like a dense bread in the shape of a bagel.) without mentioning anything about the soup being sold out, and then tried to charge me for soup that I wasn't getting. When I told the cashier that I was supposed to also have soup, she looked at my receipt, and said, "Oh yeah, I guess we ran out of that." (I've had this happen in the past, and have ALWAYS gotten a call within minutes of placing my order to let me know that that item was no longer available.) She let me know that I could always try their other soup, which was minestrone. I told her that I'm actually allergic to tomatoes, so that doesn't work for me, so I asked for a refund, which I did receive. However, neither the manager who refunded my money, nor the girl who waited on me offered any kind of apology for my inconvenience. Mind you, I work right around the corner, and have spent a lot of money there over the past 2 years, and I've never had any issues until today but I have an issue with the poor customer service of some of their younger staff. It seems that they find it hard to keep employees for very long, and I constantly see new (always young) employees. Do the newly hired staff get any kind of training at all in customer service? I'm guessing not, after today's interaction. Bagel Central is an institution in this City, and there's absolutely no reason they can't do better.

Stopped in for some lunch. You walk to the counter, place your order, and go seat yourself. Your receipt has a number on it. When they call your number you go pick up your tray or take out bag. Very easy. They have a pretty good selection of food, beverages etc. Everything we had was nice and fresh. The woman who took our order was nice and helpful. There was plenty of seating… some counter space, some smaller tables and some community tables. It’s an easy place to get to and there was street parking available.

My wife and I were in Bar Harbor when she heard about this place. So we drove a little over an hour and let me tell you it was well worth it! The food was absolutely amazing. So many different selections of items to choose from. Everything we tried was delicious! We most definitely will be back when we visit Maine again! 10/10

WOW this place is delicious and the lovely staff at the front were very helpful and welcoming. We ordered a raspberry cheese danish, a breakfast burrito, and some bagels for the road. This is by far the best cheese danish I’ve had the pleasure of eating — light, fluffy, flavorful, and BIG. Will definitely come back to this spot for breakfast/lunch again! Also, the Hungarian spread was fantastic with the everything bagel. Worth every penny.

From their pastries, baked goods and delicious sandwiches to go.. this was a staple for me during my brief 3 month stay in Bangor. I would walk along the stream to the river, often making a pit stop here for a treat. The staff were so friendly, thoughtful and kind. As a baker myself it was a joy to be able to have a peek back into the kitchen as the staff patiently strained and stirred a creme patisserie one day. Although I was a bit embarrassed to become a regular, the impact they had on my time in the city was greater than they know. I still miss their poppyseed strudel! Can't find anything like it where I'm from/live. Thank you Bagel Central!

I got an everything bagel with chive cream cheese. The bagels are more bread than an actual bagel. They skipped the boiling part to make it an actual bagel, so the texture wasnt there. I also got an eclair, and it just had no taste. Zero flavor . There was so much filling and it was enormous but had no flavor. I was a little disappointed 17 dollars later. I can say I tried it though!

Loved the atmosphere! Great bagels and you have to try the potato salad! The Blueberry bagel was great, it has a hint of blueberry and still pairs great with the cream cheese. The Poppyseed bagel is a house favorite and sells quick. The Scallions cream cheese is a personal favorite of mine and I get it with every bagel.

Despite the fact I spend a lot of time eating NYC bagels, I really enjoyed my visit to Bagel Central. Bagel Central offers breakfast combinations including bagels and eggs which are enticing. The poppy seed bagel was very good and the cream cheese that accompanied it offered a great taste and texture. You can also have your bagels toasted, which I requested. This is a great bagel option, if not the only one in Bangor.

Super affordable bagels, pastries, coffee, and more! This is a great place to do some studying or work at, or just get a bagel to go! If you don't like too much cream cheese I would definitely suggest that you ask for it on the side.They offer a variety of gluten free, whole wheat, and low fat options, or you can definitely indulge in whatever your heart desires. The people that work there are very nice and efficient as well.

Beautiful restaurant and amazing customer service. The food here is mind blowing, They have different types of inhouse cream cheese and bagels. You can order for different flavours of cream cheese for takehome in the size of half pint or pint. We called for Brady gang with with egg white omlet, bagelwich, spinach pie, oatmeal pancakes, carribean coconut flavoured coffee and mocha coffee all dishes ordered were mind blowing. Visit them for breakfast or brunch

Yummy!!! I had the Bagelwich with egg and cheese on raisin cinnamon bagel and it was absolutely delicious!!! Husband ordered the same thing with ham on a garlic bagel and said it hits the spot! The coffee is also really good! I recommend the hazelnut flavored hot coffee as it was the perfect compliment to the sandwich. We couldnt leave without getting their delicious cheesecake berry tarts!!!

Spacious, clean, affordable prices, and great variety of food options! I really appreciated the abundance of vegan/dairy free labeled options, which I’m sure helped many people too. The vegan cranberry water bagel with peanut butter I got was hearty and filling and my dad really enjoyed his omelet. In total, our family of five totaled under thirty dollars!! The environment also gives you a homey, welcoming feel - great way to start your day!

The staff are kind and helpful even when the café completely packed. Even when they had a rude customer claim they made the food wrong and proceeded to put the partially eaten food back on the order up counter, they didn't loose their composure. Super nice and didn't get mad when I came back in to mention that they had forgotten to give me an item. 100% recommended the foods amazing and the staff are even more so.
