I have brought my Toyota tundra to this location 3 times in the last 5 months to try and get a trailer brake put on. The first two times I dropped it off and they told me they had the part when indeed they didn’t have the part. Each time blaming someone else for the service being bad. This third time I dropped it off………. I get told the part is there then they tell me on the night of the first day that the part wasn’t dropped off adequately. They ask to leave it for the next day to install it. I don’t even get a call and I call at 6:40 to get told they couldn’t install the brake controller. I tell them not to touch it and I’ll be in the next day and when I go to pick my vehicle up it he brand new battery I put in is dead. After all this the manager didn’t even call me tonight to tell me that they’ve had the truck up and running. This location has piss poor service and zero communication skills. Your a customer service retailer, your business is run off of locals do better!

Rented a trailer for 24 hrs and brought it back the same day. Girl at counter asked me to back it into the same spot I picked it up at and disconnect it and she would take care of the paperwork since she was busy on the phone. Apparently NOT!! 2 days later UHaul is calling me looking for the trailer. She never checked it in. Customers beware!!

I wish I could give them zero stars in terms of customer service. The entire experience made me question ever wanting to rent with U-Haul again. When attempting to pick up my rental, I placed the order as a mobile pickup. When attempting to use that option, I had difficulty completing the process because there were difficulties with the U-Haul website, so I decided to go inside to get assistance. We were met with an attitude from and employee named Brianna, and she decided to give us short, blunt, responses to questions for assistance. One of those questions was to ask for help on what to do to complete the signing in process. She decided to bluntly state “well do you have anyone that can be added as a third contact?” without attempting to just verify the order with us at the counter. When returning the vehicle, we returned it with less than a mile used, and I stated that because of the performance of the vehicle, we did not want to use it, and returned it. We asked simply if there was any way for us to get any sort of refund based on us not liking the vehicle, and once again with an attitude, she stated “no you can’t get a refund because you used it”. I don’t know why she decided to work in a customer service field, but she should definitely not be working with people.

Overall a good experience. The locker was clean and air conditioned. I detected no mold on my items after storing the whole summer. I have two critiques that made this a 3 star experience rather than 5 star.1) I had a upper level locker which required use of the portable staircase. The opening at the top of the staircase was too narrow to easily passing U-Haul medium and large boxes into the locker. Therefore, we had to lift the boxes over the rail. I would have expected the staircase to be designed to the dimensions of the U-Haul boxes for ease of loading and unloading the lockers.2) The units are billed by the month, and the rate is not prorated if I move out mid-month. I went one week past my bill date, but paid for the whole month. I'm sure they rented out the unit after I moved out and effectively collected double payment for the last 3 weeks of the month. I leaves a bad taste.

Prices far too high and never went over the mileage set and still ended up paying nearly $200 for this simple 5 hour rental Of a pickup truck and trailer when i was originally quoted $75 and we only went 25 miles with it

Don't rent from this location! I would give them a zero, prior experience of renting a truck from Augusta, I came in the next day and told the guy that the truck I rented didn't seem to be running right .. I would like a different one .. I was told we don't have any .. which was a LIE! I then had to go to the Waterville location and rent a truck, and ask the guy their if he would check to see the available trucks in Augusta .. and he confirmed what I knew had happened the guy from Augusta was a jerk! and lied .. Waterville was very helpful, had me in a truck and back on the road .. Thank you for the wonderful service, your store is the best!

This is by far the worst experience I’ve ever had with a business. They made so many mistakes that have taken days to resolve. The biggest issue was the truck that I was assigned didn’t even match the one listed on the contract. Because of this, they could not find the truck upon drop off and had to review camera footage. The truck I ended up with had no gas, even though we are expected to return trucks 3/4s full. Hundreds of $$$ out the window. Angry is an understatement.

Blatant rip-off in 2 areas of the bill. Truck was a little dirty when we got it but no problem- it’s a truck. They charged $25 for cleaning! Next, we were asked to return it with the same fuel level. We did. They stated it was lower, wished I took a picture.Moral of the story is DON’T let them deal with the return like a rental car. Do it with a rep in person. They are clearly looking for any way to screw you.Go Penske!

I was charged an extra day (so double) after I had called and asked how much extra wiggle room on time I had. I was told I would not have extra charges if I brought the equipment back by x time. When I brought it back by x time I asked the gentleman at the counter again "will I have extra charges or anything?" He said "nope you're all good you will just be charged the original rental amount" then I got charged for an extra day on both pieces of equipment. I tried to work it out with uhaul and they have just blown me off. They started my rental time when they started the paperwork which took 45 minutes. 45 mintues that I couldnt use the equipment. I also had to hook everything up and take a picture of everything for them which took out more time. They also messed up the payment methods. Very unhappy and will look elsewhere from now on.

I gave 1 stars for a clean truck. That's it. I was charged double my mileage. Next time I will take photos of the odometer if Waterville doesn't have what I need. Staff here in the Augusta store seem to not care at all about their job or customers. They barely speak and just seem to do the minimum of any effort needed to at least keep their job. I live in Augusta and I will not use the Augusta store again unless it is my only choice.

I’m at an absolute loss for words….I’d give no stars if I could.After what I can only describe as a complete nightmare (that’s still ongoing)of a time trying to find somewhere/ someone to do a simple gooseneck hitch installation, I was finally able to make an appointment with the U-Haul in Augusta. I’ve had this appointment for over a month now, and after several times of calling back-and-forth throughout this time, I called today, just to confirm one last thing… And the young lady who answers the phone hits me back with “we don’t install hitches here”….So utterly shocked and confused I told the woman the name of the service tech I had spoken to, the date and time I had called and made the appointment, and my appointment confirmation. Even confirmed the address. And all she kept saying back to me was “yes sir, you do have an appointment, but we don’t do that here”. And she couldn’t be bothered to help steer me in the direction of someone that could.Glad I called today, before driving over an hour to be turned away day of…So here I am, a week away from needing my trailer, and back at square one with nothing. Let someone else waste your time, and take your business elsewhere.

I did a pickup order. When I got there it wasn’t ready which I realize stuff happens and I was understanding. The store was empty and the two employees handed me the list of what I ordered for me to go around and grab the 13+ items I ordered instead of helping me. I said well atleast let me pull my car closer, when I came back in one employee said “I figured I’d start for you” like he was doing me a favor. The other employee never moved to help and I brought my stuff to my car with no help. I felt Like I had disrupted them by going in, I will not be back to this location

I went online and made a reservation for a truck on a Thursday for Saturday at 11:00 a.m., confirmed it with my credit card, checked in on my phone, and even uploaded my driver's license. I arranged for an entire move got dropped off at their location which had like nine trucks in the parking lot went inside they told me they didn't have my truck that they had went in it to somebody else. They suggested I go and pick up a truck at my expense in Brunswick at a rate of 79 cents a mile. I told them I wanted the $50 guarantee that I've been pushed on the website. She debated that and then she was like I don't know if I can because I was able to offer you another truck. I had to verbatim read the guarantee to her and explain to her that it says even if you all is able to find you another equipment. It's definitely not a staffing issue they had like five people munching lunch behind the counter. And then if you want to call into customer service it's over a 20 minute wait. Absolutely ridiculous.

Most unreliable company I've ever dealt with. Scheduled a tow hitch to be installed on my car, 12pm on a Saturday. They call me the Wednesday before to cancel and say they have an opening the following day. I work full time and don't have the time to waste dropping it off especially after scheduling it in an open slot. I get the run around with the call center (extremely useless), they say they're going to call me back once they figure out a different time. They don't. So I call back the store and reschedule for the following Saturday (today). The person on the phone says to come by at 9am. I arrive a bit late, walk in to be informed they can't do anything until their manager gets here at noon. I paid almost $500 in advance to get this service scheduled and accomplished. I'll be getting refunded. 0 out of 5 stars, not only is it not recommended, I highly discourage anybody who will hear.

Used these guys more times than I can count for moves and trailer rentals. Always had good experiences until my husband accidentally left his $300 Ray bans and $350 Benchmade knife in the truck upon returning it.After an immediate trip to the facility, the staff member tried to say the items weren’t left behind or in lost and found.

Went in today to buy a bunch of boxes for upcoming move. We were looking to buy multiple bundles. Asked for a cart. They said there are no carts. Looking around found wheeled cart that clearly was for boxes, so we started loading our bundles. Dude sitting behind counter told us to stop, that those weren't meant for that. Didn't offer any help at all. Just walked out. We will buy elsewhere and suggest you do as well.

Hopped in my truck and it drove itself for me. I went in there knowing absolutely nothing about anything and had a great experience. I slammed my head off my wall to make sure I was concussed before trying to rent a truck here. Asked for every discount and got denied for some reason. Great experience though 5/5 good looking guys behind the counter

Truck was filthy including last users mail. Cup holders were filled with water from what one could only assume was a leak. Gas gage didn’t work. Back door was left up at some point and we didn’t notice it until down the highway when we stopped. Maybe because the door wouldn’t hardly close.The cargo area was filthy. Dirt and sand and dust.The individual at the counter when truck was returned could have cared less in fact he blamed us for not cleaning it beforehand and checking the door!They follow zero Covid protocols, that are advertised, obviously because it was filthy.This is the same place that 3 years ago I ordered a wiring harness that guess what, I’m still waiting well not really.Place is run by clueless, inept and lazy wretches.I DO NOT RECOMMEND THESE PEOPLE FOR ANYTHING. 👎🏼👎🏼

DO NOT USE THIS UHAUL LOCATION - If I could give them less than 1 start I would. They do not follow their own company policies and they set you up to be scammed. They do not check the vehicles with you on pick up or drop off, they do not verify you are taking the correct vehicle, and they do not explain any of their process or policies with you. We used a truck, which was entirely DIRTY, for less than 2 hours. We returned the truck, no one did a walk around, no one verified that it was checked in, nothing. We were home, checked our receipt that was FINALLY emailed hours later and we were charged for damage to a the vehicle $138. Since we could not get ahold of anyone at the unit here in Augusta, we drove there to see what was happening. NO ONE WAS IN THE STORE, totally left empty. When we found the only employee in sight, he immediately raised his voice and began arguing with us. The 'manager' was cussing and was beyond rude to us when we disputed the charge for damage. We called the corporate number on the door and heard him admit that he incorrectly charged us for damage and they cleared the charge. It has now been over a week since we had this interaction and we are again charged $126.69 for who knows what this time. THEN when you call to sort out what is going on you have to go through numerous automation windows to get in touch with an actual human. When you finally get ahold of someone, they need everything short of what you ate for breakfast to clarify they have the correct person for the specific contract. This company is in serious need of customer service training, policy structure and enforcement, and a nice reminder of how businesses depend on customers and even more so RETURN customers. Highly recommend that you choose a different service entirely or find a Uhaul location with better reviews.

I would go out of my way to avoid doing business with the Augusta U-Haul. After confirming an appointment for a trailer hitch install, it took the staff two additional weeks to find the right parts. Despite promising several times to call to notify me of when my appointment would be rescheduled, the staff never did -- I wound up having to call them multiple times per week for updates. Then, when the parts finally did arrive, they told me after 3 hours of in-person waiting that they wouldn't be able to complete the install. It was an appalling experience. I would rate the customer service with zero stars if that were permitted.

Do not rent from here! They will double charge you before ever releasing your initial money paid. So instead of the 200 total (100 initial plus 100 extra mileage) I was charged both the 200 and 100 for 300 total. And when I called to complain about it, they blamed my bank and hung up me. Very rude customer service and I've will be filing a complaint with corporate

Terrible experience. Had an appointment for a hitch to be put on set up a week in advance. Came time for the appointment and they said they were too busy so leave the vehicle. I’m meanwhile left without a vehicle. Hours later I learn they finally have tried to put a hitch on but snap the screws off in the process. So I’m told to go elsewhere to have someone else drill the screws out then bring it back. On and on. Waste of time money effort and rude behavior on their part.

Called 10 days ago to schedule an appt. to have a tow hitch installed on my vehicle; was told the part takes 4-5 days to come in, so the appt. was made for today and I was never told to call BEFORE I showed up for the scheduled appt. I show up this morning and am told they have to see if the part came in.....No one called me to tell me that the part was not in, they never told me originally to call before coming in, nothing. This morning they could not even find a tracking number for the part or tell me when it would be in. Today when I called back to cancel the appointment they seemed rather perturbed by it, like really!?!?!?!?! I needed this done like yesterday and now they are upset with me because they are losing business.....

Honestly this place sucks. I don’t understand why it takes 45 minutes every time when there’s a reservation. There’s one person at all times and they are all so slow. The worst uhaul location. Every single time.
