Last year (2023) during July, My emotional support dog Tink was starting to see decline due to old age. I couldn't afford to have him put down just yet, so wanted to call and go to a few different vet clinics to see how much it would cost so that in August I could scrounge up the money to have it done, while also being able to give him the best last days I could plan for him. I spent the whole morning going around figuring out where I wanted to bring him for the procedure and planning where I would take him to enjoy the last days of his life. Unfortunately for me, I did not think I'd run into this gods awful clinic. After telling them of my dog's decline, because they wouldn't give me cost of anything until they knew if he had to be put down or not, they let me leave. But then called me on my cellphone and then stated if I did not have him put down that day that I would then have animal control called on me for abuse. Me, not knowing until a week later that dog hospice was a thing I could have gotten him, scrambled to call family asking for money to help pay the cost because I didn't want them to take my other dog in the house due to this stupid clinic. I was panicked. My plans for giving my support dog the best last days of his life were shattered, and I was not able to emotionally prepare for his passing. Screw this place. Please do not bring your pets here for end of life care, they have no compassion for the animals they actually take care of and don't seem to care about the emotional connection people have to their pets. Garbage.I want to mention I did put in a complaint but it was dismissed of course, cant afford a lawyer.

I would give zero stars if I could. I brought my elderly dog in for a cough and in the end was told a major dental/jaw surgery or euthanasia, almost that bluntly, were the only options. After many days of crying and feeling torn between putting a dog that age through a major surgery or euthanizing a dog that was eating, drinking, going to the bathroom, and mobile, I called and asked for another option. Dr. Lehr told me there were no other options and I had to make a choice.I then called another vet for a second opinion. They quickly realized my dog had the fracture Dr. Lehr had seen, but that it might not be a new fracture considering her palate was so stable and she was eating and drinking. They were just as perplexed as to why Auburn Animal Center gave me the options that they did. They prescribed us a month of antibiotics to clear out any infection and are going to revisit the situation in a few weeks.If I had not trusted my gut and taken my dog somewhere else, I would either have spent thousands on an intrusive surgery on my old dog or she would would be dead. There was zero problem solving and critical thinking done to explore other options for my almost 13 year old dog. Thankfully, she is happy and doing much better thanks to no longer going to Auburn Animal Center.The only positive about Auburn Animal Center is their front staff are always attentive, kind, and patient.

This little big guy named Phenning is everything to me. I was lucky to get an appointment but something came up I was concerned with and they called me and offered me a spot. They did everything in that appointment as not to make me pay again in two weeks for what they just did along with looking at the rash I was concerned about. So friendly and treated my puppy so well. Absolutely would recommend to anyone.

Is that first time going there the doctor was very thorough she spent a lot of time going over a questions and concerns. She was very attentive and caring the girls at the front desk were polite I'm very helpful as well overall we gave it a five-star and would recommend this veterinarian place as well to other for a babies.

I've been going to the Auburn animal center for about 10 years. They've always taken good care of my animals,very compassionate and quick to respond to any phone calls I may make to them. The group of girls that are there now (doctors vet techs, receptionist etc.)are wonderful! They take the time to thoroughly explain to me anything that is going on with my dogs. I truly appreciate them!

This is a great vets office, staff are always welcoming and answer ALLLL my millions of questions. I have a dog that has seizures and they always double check any meds he goes on or even tick treatment. He has to have a special, more safer tick treatment due to his seizures. I truly appreciate this as he is my baby. He has had a very rough life being physically abused before I rescued him. They take care of him by allowing me to sedate him to calm his nerves. I also have a female dog who is a diva and they care for her so well! I miss Dr. Kinney however still the best place. Only downfall is trying to get in when there is an issue that comes up. They are months booked out and short staffed. When I called to get my girl in for an abscess tooth they had no openings and told me to go elsewhere. Only reason four stars.

We absolutely love the doctor's and nurse's here. They truly care about animals. They saved my dog Akira's life a couple years ago. We don't know exactly what was wrong with her but after 2 days in their care she was all fixed, healthy, and happy again. My beautiful Akira just turned 11 years old last week. She has been seen 2 times in the last 2 months and on December 23rd she will be having surgery to try and take out a big, hard, lump/tumor that is in the elbow of her right front leg. I have complete trust and faith in the amazing doctor's and staff here. Thank you to all at Auburn Animal Center for taking great care of all of my babies ❤️

Dr. Kinney and his staff are the best around! His love and compassion for animals shows in his work. I wouldn't bring my dogs anywhere else... Ruger loves his vet! I cannot recommend them enough.

They are super friendly and very understanding especially when I called them a bunch because my cat was being a pain when trying to give her meds. They were super nice every time and helped me a lot. I just feel bad my cat Punchy is such a grump when she has to go and stole a bunch of tongue depressors last visit.

Absolutely worse vet I have ever been too. They didn't give my dog the right dosage for her ear infection, they fought us on the medicine she had a REACTION to, and instead of telling us my dog had a double ear infection, they said it was "a blade of grass in her ear" that they didn't remove. Not very impressed.

Nice, caring folks. Been my dogs vet for 11 years. Seems the staff has turned-over 3 times in those years, but the current crew is pretty good. 2 months out for appointments, so call early if you can.

We have two fur babies that are our world and we have recieved the best care from all of the staff and doctors. Our boy was still in pain and was misdiagnosed from the previous vet and the dr at Auburn Animal Center went over him thoroughly and pin pointed his issues and he was in pain and could barely walk before that and now he runs and moves around with no issues.He doesnt need to be muzzled here as well because he feels safe.Our girl has been going through a rough time and the staff as well as the dr have gone above and beyond to help us through this. They have put up with me calling a lot due to my girl being in pain and told me to now worry and they want me to call with any issues.They treat my babies like their own and that makes the difference in their care and my respect for all of the wonderful staff and Dr'sI am so glad we found them and wont take my babies anywhere else.I am grateful

Good group of caring people! Unfortunately because of staffing shortages it was hard to get my very I'll cat to get help. I called all around the L/A area finally got in here. They were kind and courteousand thorough. Please be patient they easily get backed up and we all love our pets or we wouldn't be there!!!

They were very pleasant. They took care of my little guy with the upmost care. They are a little on the higher price point side but it's worth it.They have been a little harder to get an appointment even though my cat has been a patient for years. I know they lost a really good vet and I'm not 100% but it seems she hasn't been fully replaced yet.Even if they can't get you in, they'll try their best to help you. I had to bring my cat to Freeport because they could not get me in on time and because he's really anxious in the car they gave me some Gabapentin to calm him down for the ride so that was good.

I moved to Auburn in 2017. I got two cats shortly after my move. My kitties are very happy after going to this place in 2017 and ever since. The crew there are the same faces who are ready to help - indicates no turnover. The vets are awesome. They explain what is best for our cats and why. They have been willing to be flexible and definitely did a great job with the COVID visits. We recently got one of our cats on prescription food and the vet is interested in the follow up. Great place!

Auburn Animal Center exceeded my expectations with their care! They were patient and compassionate towards my two pups and handled them both with such care that it was evident how much they love animals. From the veterinarian, to the vet-tech, to the receptionist, each person explained each step and provided information along the way while answering my questions. They listened intently to my concerns and didn't pressure any decisions but gave me multiple options for how we could as a team best care for my pups after being well-informed. It is always nerve-racking to find a new vet when moving somewhere new, and I am now reassured that my pups will be well-cared for after establishing Auburn Animal Center as our vet.

This was our first visit to Auburn Animal Center, since we are new to Maine. Dr. Ortiz was thorough and knowledgeable. She was very sweet with my elderly kitties, which I do appreciate.The reception staff were very nice, too.The facility is cheery and clean.This is definitely going to be our veterinarian practice.

Very ignorant people. Rude people. I called was treated with such non compassion for my situation. No apology. I called today same thing. I am not on the account Carlton will have to speak to them. HE CAN NOT F@!#$!%$ SPEEK TO YOU. He is dead, do you get that trough your head. He died. Tiki was his baby, she is now with me. You said the hospital manager will call me I have been waiting for that call for a year.

Let me start by saying that I appreciate Dr. Ortiz and Tiffany. They have both been great over the years. With that being said, this office is not what it was when Dr. Kinney ran it. If your pet is sick, this place is totally unwilling to help. They’d rather send you to the emergency clinic across town that their parent company also owns. That way they can charge you more. The last three times I’ve had a sick cat, they failed to get my pet in to see the doctor. When Dr. Kinney was there, you could always get right in for an emergency.

So caring an gentle with your fur babies. My baby could not go in with out me, he's such a baby. We had his appointment in driveway I was blown away by there understanding an very happy that my baby received his physical with the same care as if we were in the office. Second vist my fur baby went right in. He felt safe, so I was at ease. Thank you to all the staff an his doctor.

A little bit of a wait to be seen after the appointed time, but once we were in the room she reviewed my cats visit history, had an excellent summary of what she thought was the cause of his rash, and administered his medication quickly and efficiently! Wonderful care from a clearly caring vet. Not to mention the prices were less than the last office we went to.
