This was a really great facility, immaculately clean and set up to accommodate both families (new playgrounds and pool) and people looking for seclusion and quiet. The bathrooms were spotless and decorated in a very cute manner. My spot was down by the stream, big, quiet and scenic. Of course I forgot what seemed like half of my supplies, and this store had everything I needed, with the exception of a sponge, which one of the owners dug out from her own supplies and very kindly delivered to my campsite. I was also unprepared with enough cold-weather gear, and she also let me one of her own quilts. Very nice folks, great facility! Looking forward to returning.

Lone Mountain was a total surprise when we visited this RV campsite at the end of September 2023, in our 30' motorhome. The owners are very personable and visited our site on the first night to see how we settled in. The park is very well-maintained and the location perfect if you like hiking and touring. You are close to mountain hiking and waterfall hikes, multiple. We only stayed 2 nights but plan to book a week next year to make sure we get in more hiking, the beautiful countryside and this perfect campsite. Showers/Restroom are fantastic, great WiFi reception and nice and quiet this time of year. For those with kids, they have a new pool w/slide and are building a pavilion and other amenities for the 2024 season. Hope you enjoy it as much as we did.

planned a 5-night stay. As I knew Northeast has been exceptionally wet. June's flooding was apparent along the river with standing water in places it's not usually this time of year.As result lots of mosquitoes to enjoy. Got a few hours of clear night seeing in and was impressed with the dark sky view. Apple island tent sites were spacious, clean. Riverbank very steep. Was cool & cloudy for most of my visit so no swimming.they have a beach looked nice. I will return God willing.

We spent a week at this campground and extended our stay two additional days we loved it so much! The sites are large, level, and beautifully kept. We stayed in site “C” and were treated each morning by the beautiful view of the mountains. The bathrooms were spotless with great showers. The owners are the nicest we’ve ever encountered. It was a friendly, relaxing, peaceful atmosphere. We found so much to do in the area, hiking, mountain biking, paddling, swimming holes, and we even saw a moose! We hope to be back very soon.

I don't usually do reviews on campgrounds, but this campground is an exception. We had the pleasure to stay here over the weekend and this campground is truly amazing! Lone Mountain Campground is very clean and serene and the views of not only Lone Mountain, but also Black mountain and Bald mountain too. Our campsite was on the newest wooded section with views of all 3 mountains.Truly Breathtaking! Our campsite was "B" and was perfect for us and our 20' camper. All new water and electric options. We explored this very large campground with various campsite options there and many tent sites are right on the amazing River! We swam in the river and our well behaved dogs enjoyed it too. The sandy beach with some picnic tables allows for a full day of relaxing on the river with your own floats, swimming and just enjoying time together. The owners of this amazing campground have worked so hard to share this"little piece of heaven" with all who are fortunate to stay here. You will not be disappointed at all especially dealing with the owners. They are very kind and welcoming to everyone and even offer a store for your forgotten items or special treats. The bathhouse is very nicely decorated and is VERY CLEAN! This family operated campground should be on your list of destinations now! Enjoy!

I am a full time RVer and have been for going on 5 years now. This campground is top 2 of my favorite campgrounds out of 40+ places I have stayed over the years. The owners are amazing and incredibly welcoming, They have river access with a nice beach and parking area, It's horse friendly, Right in the middle of a bunch of ATV trails. On top of all that it is beautiful and clean. I HIGHLY recommend staying here. You won't regret your decision.

We stayed at a tent sight along the river (#30). The site and campground were clean and quiet. It was dog and horse friendly and all of the owners were very responsible about keeping their dogs on leashes and there were no pens for the horses. The bathrooms were super clean. There was a beach area big enough for the kids to play and the river was very slow moving, so it was more like a shallow lake. We were checked in by a few teenage boys who were very helpful and professional. We definitely look forward to our next trip.

Beautiful area, Great staff. Loved the lot I was in. Bathrooms and property are very clean. Only thing I'd say is the Beach isn't a very big beach very very shallow (out of camps control :) but there's a great beach 12 minutes away, All in all a great relaxing weekend. Thank you lone mountain camp ground

Hands down the best experience I've ever had at a campground. Corey, the manager/owner, could not have been more friendly or helpful for just my one night solo staying on the property. Not only did she give me a great tour of the campground as well as a printed sheet of local things to do like beautiful mountain peaks, restaurants, and tourist attractions, but she also help bandage my arm from a little fishing accident I had. It was like having a mother on site. The campground as a whole was in great condition, and the bathroom/shower facilities were brand new and so unbelievably clean. The stream located on the property had some beautiful trout swimming around, and horseback riders could be seen on the same hiking paths around the water. All in all, I will 100% be returning to this site thanks to Corey and the awesome experience her family has laid out for campers at Lone Mountain.

We stayed at Lone Mountain Riverfront Camping the end of July and I cannot say enough great things about this campground. First, Corrie and Tom are the most friendly and welcoming hosts. They made you feel at home the second you walk in the camp store, which is stocked with anything you need. All the sites are good size and come with a picnic table and fire ring. Some of the campsites even have charcoal grills that campers can use, which was a nice addition. The beach was awesome - we brought our floats and spent time floating on the river, which was cool and refreshing on a hot day. Lastly, the bathhouse was one of the cleanest and nicest I have seen at a campground. The showers were awesome, and always had hot water, oh and did I mention clean?!? We had a wonderful weekend staying here and cannot wait to go back again. This will definitely be our go to campground for years to come. Give it a stay, you will not be disappointed.

Fantastic property with amazing and attentive owners. We're traveling cross country and this has by far been 1 of our favorite campgrounds. Sites are spacious and clean with many locations to choose from depending on if you want a view of trees, like to be closer to the river or near the activity area, there is even a glamping tent! We had an issue with our camper while we were there and Cory (the owner) was so helpful and accommodating since we needed to stay longer than planned, she even gave us recommendations of local places that could help us. Lots to explore nearby and they'll happily suggest some local sites and activities, and the river on the property is lovely to fish in or just relax on shore if you dont feel like venturing out. We had such an enjoyable stay and such a pleasant experience in Maine we would definitely come back to the area and stay here again.

This is a great campground made even better by the amazing owners. They have created a peaceful setting for several types of camping, and it is impeccably maintained, especially the bathhouse. New things being added as they carry out their vision for a well rounded camping experience. Corrie was so helpful in guiding us to local activities, and went above and beyond by mailing us our son's archery set that we left behind accidentally. The river is a great amenity and the area is beautiful. We hope to be back!

Great location. Camp sites were re-arranged this year to have more space. The beach area is quaint. My dogs loved roaming the area (on a leash, of course). The shower and bathrooms are new this year and they were great.I highly recommend for quiet campers who want to relax. The owners are great!Pro tip: bring bug protection. Bug spray ain't enough. Trust me.

If you're tired of Hotel rates for a Campground site. It you're tired if the grits, glamor, fences entry gates and a staff that couldn't care less about your personal concerns, Consider this! A pristine Beautiful setting, surrounded by Mountains, lush green fields and a river running through it; owners who really care if you're satisfied, and immaculate toilet and Shower facilities. I almost forgot what real camping was like. Stephanie and Todd might just stop by your campsite to see if everything OK.

My husband and I camped here for 4 nights and loved it. The campground is new and amenities are constantly being added. The campground land is beautiful and peaceful. Loved walking my dogs and enjoyed the peace and quiet. My husband is hiking the Appalachian Trail and it is a perfect location for several pick up points The owners have been very helpful with our many questions about the area and are really nice people. I Highly recommended this campground.

Very nice campground and the owners are very pleasant. The country setting is very quiet and peaceful with six spots for RVs with power an water hookups. And some great grassy spots down below if you have power on hand. All the spots come with picnic tables and grill. It’s just a short Walk to the showers and restrooms which great for some exercise to walk off that camp meal. Plenty to see and do around the area and during the fall it should be fantastic with the mountains being full of color. Definitely looking to go back maybe in the the months. If you want peace and quiet relax in a serene setting this is the place to go.

We just camped here for 2 nights and it's our new favorite campground. Its clean CLEAN clean! The owners are super nice and the place was nice and quiet. The only tiny annoying detail is a town bell that rings every single hour but we didn't hear it too much.....(it's located a few miles from the campground). The campground itself has lots to do. A small beach, games, swing set, etc. Perfect place for a family! Can't wait to go back!!!

Nice facilities, the bath house was clean and well setup. Very friendly owners. They will even deliver wood, pizza or the occasional dog treat to your site. It's a newer campground and obviously they are adding things as they can. Can't wait to go back.

We had a great experience at Lone Mountain Riverfront. There are a variety of sites from which to choose: pull-through for RVs, open grassy area, and finally large tent sites in a copse of apple and pine trees next to the river, which is clean and clear stream. We ultimately chose a tent site next to the river under some trees that offered protection from the elements. The riverside sites have flat areas for tents/campers, but the sites have not been picked clean of sticks or trampled into dust by overuse, like some other places we have stayed at over the years. The owners were very nice and accommodating to our needs. The bath house is brand new and immaculate. I have already recommended this campground to a family member, and I look forward to returning in future years.

Lone Mountain campground is an expansive camping area with multiple sections for the largest campers and individual tents. They have one secluded glamping site so far. They have a central playground for families by the new modern bathhouse. There is a sandy beach along the Ellis River. Trails are available for horses and ATVs. There is hiking on site and the AT is nearby. Their office doubles as a camp store for essentials. The staff are nice and friendly. It's a wonderful place to getaway from it all.

Beautiful campground tucked in the valley of the mountains. Great location to enjoy all Maine has to offer. You can take a swim in the Ellis River, enjoy walking the campground property to take in the beautiful views, or hit the ATV trails right across the road. Friendly, hard working, hospitable owners. We will definitely be back as soon as we can!

Just WOW!! What a wonderful campground. The atv trail access is literally across the street, they have amazing overflow parking for side-by-sides, atvs and truck/trailers.RV sites are spacious, they have a variety of different sites: rv, tent and even LARGE camping sites for people with horses with a walking trail to excercise your horses!!! Nice little beach with swimming hole and sand! the grounds are very well taken care of, green lush grass, trees. Staff and owners are very friendly and helpful. Well stocked campstore, lots of games and things for kids to do outdoors or borrow a game from the desk for your campsite, plenty of safe space for kids to ride bikes and explore. Nice shower house. I honestly can't say enough good things. We loved this place.....did I mention they have a beautiful camping trailer for rent AND a glamping tent....ya amazing.
