This store used to be a viable alternative to that big box store down the street. That is no longer the case. At one time you could count on this store to be well stocked and have ample check outs open. Not anymore. They frequently will put items in sale and then not have the items or have only an absurdly small amount of the product. The prices are not competitive (in fact are often above other smaller markets by 20% or more) and the selection of items is minimal. They have adopted the minimal staff at any time approach which leads to long waits and lack of assistance in locating items. After several disappointing visits to this location and stories from friends that other locations have the same problems, I will be shopping elsewhere and recommend others do the same.

Used to love and totally enjoy my shopping experience here. Last 3 times shopping was completely disappointed! Sales items sold out on Friday. Meat department is dysfunctional. Alot of items out of stock. Don't know if they have new management. Short on workers or just don't care as much. Disappointing.

Overall I'm glad that Rouses is on this end of town. The staff is always polite and nice. Prices are a little above Walmart, but for the convenience I'm happy to pay.

Mary in the deli is a horrible person, to say something but then say she didn't say it, to the way she spoke to the co worker. The things she said should have never been said & she should be fired! The way you treat a person reflects on who you are

The store is okay except for the deli. They rarely bother to put out the fried chicken featured in their ad. They put out the full priced chicken but not the sale item. If you ask about it they tell you, "if it's not on the shelf we don't have it." But going in almost every day, and sometimes more than once a day for 3 months, and they never have it, I doubt their veracity. I don't believe they even bother fixing it. Once when I complained to the store manager, they gave me the sale price, but the chicken was old and so soggy it tasted like it had been steamed instead of fried. I'm done with the people who run that deli.

I am unable to shop in person until after surgery. I love how I can call, discuss questions about products and stock with a courteous employee, and send my driver to the store. My driver loves to shop and Rouses is one of her favorite stores. Thank you Rouses.

I have been a customer of Rouse’s since it opened here in Zachary. I was a customer when it was LeBlanc’s. Even though Rouse’s received bad reviews after the insurrection, I continued to patronize all of the locations because of the good service I received. I have experienced bad customer twice within the last eight months with the same person at the Zachary store. I saw her name tag today, so now I know her name is Michelle. I had bought two small loaves of Sara Lee bread - $4.29 for each tiny loaf of bread. So, Sara Lee had coupons on them today. I wanted to use the coupons. Just as the cashier had finished ringing me up, I mentioned I wanted to use my coupons and if she could re-ring me. She said she had to check and she walked over to the customer service desk. The cashier then told me I had to let Michelle handle my refund. I walked over to her. She began to speak loudly and humiliate me for wanting my $1.10. She slapped the first 55 cents in my hand; then the other. There were customers nearby who heard the way she spoke to me. This is not good customer service. She needs to be re-trained. To top it off, she had the audacity to say have a blessed day after she slapped the last 55 cents in my hand. I’m not blaming this one on the pandemic. Needless to say, I will not be returning to this location. Good customer service is really important to me.

Be really nice if the hot food out got sold instead of waiting a half hour to sell it . breakfast over at ten so if your on an early break they refuse to sell it not good service...food did look good the y just refuse to sell you food sitting out

Good local store, generally good parking. Cleanliness, and friendliness seems to be priority here. The Deli is my favorite (Neesha) I hope I’m spelling it right completed my order after their was a conflict in the time frame I was suppose to get it. She was kind, courteous, and professional.

they do not have a green thumb the manager doesnt care if cardboard gets into the environment or not just throw away anywhere but not his store i never liked going there anyway i bet walmart would have taken it like they always do stank attitude as well

This location was purchased by Rouse's recently. There was talk of improvements and I was so excited to finally have a nice grocery store in Zachary. I will say I have seen some improvement regarding the food selections, layout of the store, etc. However, the parking lot is horrible. It's sharply slanted and badly in need of repaving (very rocky with major pot holes in multiple spots- one is so bad they just put a grocery cart in the hole and left it so no one would drive over it and ruin their tires- it's been there for weeks). The entrance of the store remains pretty dirty, which doesn't exactly make you want to shop there. Overall, I'm happy with the food itself and the prices, but they seriously need to clean it up and fix the issues in the parking lot.

Nice store, clean with great sushi. My only complaint is watch the sale prices!!!! They had pineapples 2/4.00 they rang up at the register 2.99. If I would of had a large cart of groceries I probably would not have caught the error. When I went to the service desk she said they had 3 different prices on them in the register. I received my money back on the overcharge. Just be aware folks.

I love EVERYTHING in Rouses Grocery...especially the organic veggies & various products! Rouses has everything you need and if they don't have it stocked...they order it for you. The prices are affordable and the staff is very friendly.Thank you for making life less stressful...especially through the adversity that has transpired in our country. Kind of expensive but this place has the best fresh sushi. Also there's a hardware store connected to it. They cook food fresh daily and they also have daily lunch specials. Very nice customer service representatives. I always have a good experience when I visit the grocery store. 4 stars because the parking lot is horrible and I dipped in a crater.

Great place to go grocery shopping. They have locally grown produce, and great sales on items. They also have items that you may not find in big chain grocery stores. Clean and the employees are always friendly

Great service. They're always friendly. Sometimes the fruit is a little bad though but they make up for it with a wonderful bakery and very fast checkout and quite a few convince options. I personally prefer going her in town and when they have sales on items they usually have deep discounts for them.

My issue with the store is that the time I was there around 9pm there were three separate spills in various aisles, no one was cleaning them up, the employees didn't even put up wet floor signs. They also seemed completely disinterested in cleaning them up without customer prompts.

Called to see if they had whole ribeyes that were on sale, was told yes so we made the 20 minute drive. Got there and no one could help us. After 10-15 minutes someone showed up and said they were out. Said we called and he said he was the only one there and he didn't tell us that. Very poor customer service.

I bought $50 of boiled crawfish from Rouses today and they were the worst I have ever had. I was able to eat 1 of 10 at the most. They were hard to peel and were mushy and falling apart. They were very small when I tried to peel them they came apart and so salty it was hard to eat. Definitely not worth the money and very disappointed.

Rouse needs to come in an overhaul this store. The ground meat was a nasty grey color and the staff acts like they don't want to work there. This store used to be better.

The item choices here are great! I like the atmosphere and the people who work there act as if they are happy to see you and serve you. It's always neat and clean. For service, quality and atmosphere, I will pay a few pennies more. The prices are reasonable, though. I actually found cookie butter there! I thought I'd have to go to the other side of Baton Rouge to Traders Joe's to find that! The produce section is mmmm fresh. If I don't feel like cooking, I can get fresh sushi, salad from the salad bar and a hot meal from the steam table. Checking out doesn't require a long cattle line wait and they still have baggers!

I went to the Zachary location today. I wanted something on the top shelf by the cake mixes but I couldn't reach it. Long story short... no real Customer Service. On another note... The gentleman on the Ace Hardware side was a great help! Thank you!

Very wide selection of products & items here. They have a deli, bakery, and hot food stations. Extremely clean and nice modern design inside, you'd think you were in a high-end, first class grocery store.Prices are OK, some items are on the higher end of the scale, but they do seem to offer sales on certain items, so that helps save you money.
