This review is for the sushi dept. I don't like most grocery store sushi. Rice taste like tap water or roll is not good. I stop in when I'm in the area just to get sushi. Grilled salmon roll & crunchy dragon roll -red are my favorites. Sushi chef/maker is a+

Excellent customer service. I was looking for a particular item. I asked an employee in another section but he went out of his way to help me. Then he asked an other employee probably upper management and they were equally helpful. I recommend this store.

So I live about 5 mins away from harps and it's a great little store. Has everything you could need with really nice workers. Walk in beer cooler and good pre seasoned meat for when you don't know what to cook and wanna grab something to just throw in over or whatever.

They really try to go out of your way to make sure that you can find whatever items you need. If you plan on purchasing an item periodically they will try and make sure. That the item is stocked in store at a reasonable price. I grew up with Lori and Dwayne and Janise and i'm very grateful for all that they've done they help out.

Worst place to work for, especially the meat department. They blame you for stupid things, even when those things would help us work more efficiently. Plus, they'll blame you for an empty case in the morning, though you stuffed it full the night before. Not to mention that the prices are outrageous for pretty much everything. Wouldnt recommend.

Love, love, love this supermarket! They have an exceptionally large variety of good Cajun meats, home grown veggies, wine, liquor, andu all time fav, Zydeco Chop Chop!!

Prices are outrageous on most things. I've even overheard vendors saying they mark up prices way too high. Definitely worth driving a couple extra miles to champagnes in Carencro for more reasonable prices.

This place never seems to disappoint me whenever I come home for a visit. I grew up in this small town where everyone know each other. Lori Labbe one of the owners and I graduated from good ole Sunset High in 1981. When my nephew, Nathaniel Lee Melancon went missing back on March 29 2022 this neighborhood community store stepped up and made donations, allowed our family to place flyers on their windows at the store. They attended events, and even after a year of his 1st Anniversary of gone missing, Janise's was still there at needs of the family giving last minute donations for the event. Lori and Dwayne thank you so much for being there for my family at such a difficult time. We the family appreciate you all.

A great neighborhood grocer - their meat dept is always fresh and if you’re looking for a special cut, ask a butcher. We come here several times a week. Much less stressful than fighting lines at the larger chains (looking at you super 1 and Walmart).

I don't shop here often but they always have what I need, plus they always have unique items like candles and garden decorations! I buy all my food storage containers from here too, there always inexpensive and good quality 👌

Very Expensive! This is the only grocery store in this high poverty town😡 most of the population can't afford a car or get a ride to the nearest grocery store with reasonable prices, so they have no choice but to ship here and pay these outrageous prices. I have personally gone there to buy meat on at least 2 different times and the meat was not good at all. Nice employees though. Unfortunately that's about the only good thing I have to say about it.

I go here for the deli, mainly. They make the BEST Chicken Strips that I've ever eaten. Being a Texan I love white pepper gravy and these strips make my gravy a fantastic meal. They fix veggies that are like going to a cafeteria to get a balanced lunch. This grocery store has a good selection of meats and produce with good sales. Wed is senior discount day.

I have always had great experiences at Janise's. The deli is excellent and they have an extremely varied selection of products for a small town grocery store. I highly recommend coming here if you are in the Sunset area.

Prices are a bit expensive however if you want to get in and out of the store you can do so here. During covid-19 been monitoring a lot of different stores and how they sanitize and I must say that the store needs help. There's no one wiping down the hand baskets or the baskets outside and that's a bit concerning the hand baskets are located to the left when walking directly in the store and they still have dirt in them prior to customer walking in and using those.

I stopped in today, 12/4/22 (Sunday afternoon) before 4:00. I was near the kitchen, when a female employee came up and started talking to the male employee behind the counter, saying, "That's white trash!" She went behind the counter, and even though l was standing there, she continued, and said it a second time. I felt so uncomfortable hearing racial slurs while trying to shop.

Want to change my review for this store since my last wasn't so favorable (because of one bad apple). Great bunch of people, very friendly and helpful. Very clean and well stock with everything I need. Yes I would recommend this to family and friends.

Great little local grocery. Always went as a kid. The deli food is always good, especially the boudin balls. Sushi is the best and most fresh u have ever gotten in a grocery store.

Janise's is a very nice grocery store that is also well laid out. When you walk in you come to the produce section, then it wraps around with some fresh deli and other food products, think they have plate lunches etc there too to your right and left starting the isles is candy, then your bread and crackers and can goods so on and so forth. Next coming up is your meats and such, I like getting even the simplest thing of ground meat here cause even though the rolls of ground meat like at Walmart, Super1 etc are less expensive... You get a lesser quality of meat in reality in which is cooked down and you end up having less meat pounds vs with a higher quality meat pretty much leaving behind just enough fats for you to have a chance of not drying out your meat. They have cokes and stuff even a little baby section across from that area and then last but not least the other side of the store wraps around to your dairy to start and then a delicious looking isle of frozen goods... Ice cream etc(I just wish they would carry chocolate chip ice cream... The heck with mint c.c.); I can only find that at Piggly Wiggly and Super1:/. Anyway, it's a fine grocery store, some select items are a little more than I'd like to pay but beings I live in between Sunset and Church Point, unless it's a huge difference or I'm going towards Lafayette or Opelousas period, then it's not worth worrying about and you know your getting good product.

I have been ordering barbeque plate lunches every Sunday like clockwork for years. I have always called in my order and went and picked them up. Yesterday I called in my order and the girl that took the order did not make the plate lunches and when I went to pick them up she laughed and thought it was very funny - they were sold out so I had to leave with no food. I had invited people over to my home for a Sunday get together and I had to go home and tell them I had no food. I told management and management did nothing like it was no big deal. I have been going out of my way to shop here for a while to support a local grocery store but after my experience there yesterday I will be taking my $200 - $300 week grocery bill somewhere else.

My father when to cash a 1000.00 $check. Instead of calling the Lafayette office they called the police on a 74 year old veteran Air Force. Police called Lafayette office two and they both confirmed that the check was good and ready to be cashed. The craziest thing is Wayne those me I used to work on the sub back in ice machines at the store. And you know who's my father. Why would he try to put him in jail the check wasn't illegal but they accuse him of copying it committing fraud

It has what you need but the owner price gouges like crazy. Most of the stuff is double what Walmart charges, sometimes more. I think places allowed to do that is shameful. My elderly parents go there because it is closer, but everytime they go it is always over a hundred dollars for like 6 items. Someone should look into this.
