Royal Avian Plus is without a doubt one of best bird stores around. They also have other supplies for cats, dogs, bunnies, etc. They are locally owned by an extremely friendly and knowledgeable family. If you’re in the area just stop by and say, “hello”. My gf and I came in over the past couple of years from out of state and ended up finding our lovely Caique, Dory. We can’t say enough nice things about these people and this place. Go check them out. You won’t regret it!

They had a wonderful selection of birds and I could see how well they interacted with some of these sweet creatures. This is the BEST Avian store that I've ever seen. A++

I've been to a lot of bird stores, I mean from Baton Rouge down to New Orleans. There is no other store that can compete with the friendliness or cleanliness of this store. The staff is very friendly and very knowledgeable. The animals are well taken care of and you can tell they're happy. They have well stocked supply of different types of food, toys and cages. They even do boarding.This is how you know they love animals. They don't charge you to do any trimming to the birds. This means that the money you save from that you can get your feathered family member new toys.This store is truly one of a kind.

My wife is the bird lover, I'm just along for the ride. That said, this is the nicest and coolest bird store we've ever been to. The staff is super friendly, you can interact with mostly any bird that they have, and you can even build custom toys for the birds you own.

Royal Avian is a god send to Slidell. Before they were open I went to a vet to get my Indian Ringneck's trimmings and it was a traumatic experience for him and us. That experience changed him for the worst. After Royal Avian opened I started buying fresh food for him and he LOVED it. Not only that, but they informed me they offered trimming services as well. I brought him in for a trimming and again he was changed by the experience, but this time in an amazing sense! He went from biting and dive bombing people to talking to everyone who walks in and not biting at all! I will continue to go to Royal and recommend everyone else with a bird go as well, if only to check it out in the least. They are amazing there and very knowledgeable on their birds. Highly, highly recommend!

Great place for parrot lovers! I was so excited when I heard that a bird-centered store was opening in Slidell and Royal Avian did not disappoint! Not only do they have an amazing variety of bird food, toys, and accessories, but they also do nail and wing clipping. I've had my Rose Breasted cockatoo there twice for this service. They also specially ordered the food I feed her when they did not have it in stock. I will be looking into purchasing a new cage for her soon from them.Big plus - they also have dog and cat supplies as well!

I am furious at this place for forcing me to fall in love with so many gorgeous, affectionate, intelligent birds. I want to take them all home and become a crazy bird lady. With no shame. Thank you, ladies, for making my 6-year old nephew so happy when we showed up in pajamas excited to see even one sweet bird, and he got the extreme joy of holding his favorite. I will be coming back.

I absolutely love this store and the owners! After adding a green cheek conure to our family at the beginning of this year, I realized Slidell was lacking a store to purchase bird food, toys, and health care items. While there are a few other local pet stores this one is knowledgeable, CLEAN, and truly cares about every bird they have as well yours at home! I not only see the friendly faces of the owners when I go in but like me the other patrons cannot seem to stay away. If you have a bird or are considering adding one to your family/flock this place is worth the drive!

I bought an Austin Air Purifier Allergy machine from Royal Avian plus. They were so helpful and extremely knowledgeable. Well worth the money. I've gone through 3 cheap purifiers and decided to finally buy a very good quality one for my home because I have several parrots. They need very clean air. Nice shop with nice people. Mostly bird supplies but they have some things for dogs and cats as well. Not a large bird inventory but the birds they do sell are Healthy and Happy. They know many local breeders, so what birds they do not have, they may be able to get for you.

My husband walked in today, and not only was he greeted by every single person working and checked on as he looked, a lady whom we did not get a name from was the absolute sweetest and most helpful person we have come across in a very very long time in customer service. I wish we would have gotten her name, but when he described the situation that we are in right now with our pet, she went above and beyond, searched on her vendor’s website and Amazon until she found what he needed. She then offered to order a specialty item if we did not have Amazon Prime, so the he could take advantage of next day shipping. She went so out of her way to make him feel comfortable and we are so appreciative. Anyone is the Slidell, Northshore, or New Orleans metro area MUST stop by. We will definitely be shopping local at Royal Avian Plus for all of our needs going forward. Thank you so much!
