Great pet store. Bought a Sulcata tortoise there and continue to learn from the staff on my pet that may outlive me! Their crown jewel is the freshwater fish selection. No box store compares. Buy local! We named him Rocket because in a flash he's gone!Update! Rockette is doing great. Chillest pet ever. Just bought more fish. A rope fish! The kids are going to love it

I've been going to Delta Pet Center since the mid '80's. Awesome store with just about everything you need, especially for fish and reptiles. Staff is always friendly and helpful.

I’ve been coming here twice a week for a while, compared to other pet stores you can tell they care. Their products are very reasonably priced and generally cheaper, and their fish/invertebrates cost more than big chain stores, but you can tell they’re taken a lot better. I’d say the extra cost of fish is worth it when they don’t die the first week to some disease. The workers are very nice and insightful. I appreciate chatting with them every time I come in to check out the fancy colored crawfish they have!

Always friendly, and helpful locally owned pet shop. They suggested these fish skin chews for my dog.. I said I doubt he'd like those... Guy says "trust me". So I did, and my dog is now addicted to fish skins haha. Also a great pet store to go see all kinds of great animals with your kids -- birds, turtles, rabbits, fish etc.

My husband and I have been visiting Delta’s Pet Shop for quite some time now and the atmosphere is very positive; he has a nice variety of different animals, my favorite animals are the ferrets, birds, and bunnies, my husband has been purchasing fish. Unexpectedly, I have stumbled across some natural handmade soap, I could not resist, they look so good, I've bought 2 Goatmilk Sea Moss and geraniums for antiaging and 2 Goat Milk Oat and Honeys for my daughter's dry cracked skin. Although it’s 45 mins away from me. It was well worth the drive. The employees were very nice and helpful. Their inventory is far and beyond for any Pet Lovers. I purchased my son two new turtles and He Loves Them♥️ We will definitely go back for any of our pet needs.

The quality of the stock has improved exponentially under their new management, both in their livestock and tank accoutrements. I can honestly say that I’m happy to shop here now and you should totally come take a look. (Check out the plecos! They rock!)

Great pet supply store! I was looking for a puppy play pen and they employee showed me the way to them. The store offers a very wide variety of treats, foods, accessories, leashes, collars, and countless other items for your little critters and bigger animals that we hold dear as family.

Delta Pet is amazing! I've been going here since I was a small kid and the exceptional service has never changed! The selection variesweekly and is always growing. The store is never dirty and the animals are always very well cared for. I recommend Delta Pet over any other store in town!

Absolutely wonderful staff ..I purchased some "pepper" cory cats (paleatus) , looked healthy in the store and when I got home to my quarantine tank...they were ROBUST!!! Plump, active, ready to eat. I made them wait a day just in case, mean human.My only problem... they only had six, more coming in next week though👍.

Have shopped with this store for a many of years but has been about a year or so going in it, guess it recently went under new ownership. Never have I gone into this store and been completely ignored. Was saw by all three who was working and acknowledged by none. The guy I can understand because he was helping a customer, the two girls I cannot. One was on phone behind counter not worried about a thing and the other just doesn’t seem fit to be in customer service. Will never shop there again. Used to be such a great place as I’ve spent 1000s every visit and was ready to do so today on the burms. Y’all’s loss.

The fish seem really healthy, and the place is really clean. But I have to knock for one thing. While we were there, we saw a cage with 4 dwarf hamsters. All hamsters are very territorial and WILL FIGHT FOR TERRITORY. We saw them fighting, and one did have blood on it’s leg. We tried to informThe staff but they did nothing about it. This was really troubling.

Walked in to store was not greeted by an employee. Was not asked if I needed help once while in the store. Sorry that I drove from Gulfport to visit this store. Underwhelmed, the aquariums need better care as well.

I have been going to Delta pet center for years now. Not only do they have the one of the largest selection of pets I have ever seen, but they also have a variety of pets to chose from. They carry more exotic pets such as iguanas, bearded dragons, geckos, tarantulas, ferrets, rabbits, several kinds of birds and many exotic beautiful fish! The store is always stocked with pet supplies you don't typically find easily in most chain pet stores, and the employees are very well educated about the care each animal needs. I heavily enjoy just walking around the store looking at the large variety of pets that are very well taken care of.

If you buy a tank w/ a lid be careful because their lids are way to large and reptiles do get out and all they will tell you is “well I don’t know what to tell ya!” There was no room to walk around the store and I was given almost ALL wrong instructions for my baby snake. Never again!

This place is the best! You may be tempted to head to a big chain store like PetSmart or Petco, and those places are great, but this place is local and has the knowledge AND a better selection. To start a younger gentleman greeted us the moment we walked in the door and asked if we needed help. I let him know what I was looking for (Betta fish meds) and he took me where I needed to be and asked info on what I needed it for. He then told me he wasn’t too sure what was best for my situation but that he’d grab someone who did. I’m pretty sure he stated the 2nd gentleman was the owner, who was equally kind and helpful. He showed me what I needed, then we just browsed the store. I’ve been in here before, but it had been a while. The store is small, but it’s packed to the nines with stuff and small pets. The fish supply selection is phenomenal. They have a better selection than all other pet supply stores. A lady checked us out who was also friendly and knowledgeable. I am a veterinary professional and I saw a lot of great product in there we’d recommend to clients too. Give this place a try for your pet needs! :)

Loved that they have live crickets for cheaper than other pet stores in Slidell! Only note is that it can be overwhelming for anyone with sensory issues, lots of different sounds and smells, and everything is close together

We purchased a hamster only 4 days ago not realizing until we brought him home that he had severe wounds from being in a cage with another hamster. We monitored him closely and had a vet appointment set for ASAP, but those wounds ended up killing him before we could even get him to the vet. Very disheartening.I can't say much about the other animals at the store, but I've owned 3 other hamsters now and know a good bit about them. This store is severely neglecting their hamsters. Hamsters will never be friends, and unless they're absolute babies they cannot be caged together, let alone in the very small cages this store uses (not hardly big enough for even 1 let alone the multiples they put together). It's a setup for a very bad situation. It makes me incredibly sad all those poor, sweet babies are in such a neglected state, and I'm sure the one I purchased was not the first to die or get sick due to the conditions.A pet store shouldn't be selling any animal they are unequipped for, and Delta Pet Center is incredibly unequipped to house hamsters.

It's an amazing little pet center, they have a lot of animals. The staff is always accommodating. An all of them know everything about any pet in the store so don't go in an act like you know what you are doin if you want a knew pet. Just ask them questions an they are ready to help.

Excellent experience. All of the Staff was all very friendly, knowledgeable and helpful. The tanks are clean and the fish so happy and healthy. All other pet stores in this area do not compare!! I won’t shop anywhere else. I hope everyone looking for fish finds this gem.

Went here based on a recommendation after another store sold me a a sick fish. The staff were nice and the pricing is fair for what you’re getting. I went there for fish and from what I saw the fish looked healthy and happy, the tanks looked well taken care of as well. They had a wide variety and are knowledgeable. Won’t go anywhere else.
