Pet Savers is one of the few no-kill shelters for cats and dogs. It is staffed with volunteers who care about the animals and take care of them like family. There is a cat house to separate them from the dogs. The dogs are separated by size (small, medium, and large). They are waiting for their furever homes. Needed a fast response for 2 strays we found and couldn't keep but when you call, they won't answer the phone and instead tell you on the voice-mail to contact 1 of 2 people via call or text. Took someone forever to text me back and they didn't say anything other than "Send a picture" and then I didn't hear back from them. Honestly I understand they're probably busy people but if you aren't going to hire someone to actually man a front desk and answer phone calls, you need to hire people so you can respond to your messages in a timely manner.

Petsavers is the best! I am a new dog owner, but researched a ton before submitting my application. They had a few dogs in mind for me to see based on my habits and lifestyle, and I ended up adopting Dusty!They were very helpful through the entire process and I ended up with a good match for me. They even hooked me up with a free harness when they saw the collar I had bought was too big!They also set me up with discounts at Petsmart, so I could feel comfortable buying quality supplies for my new friend.Petsavers is an excellent shelter that really wants to place good dogs in good homes. I would recommend this place to anyone in the SBC area looking to adopt!

Merritt and Becky were the ladies that helped us find the perfect addition to our family and were so sweet and helpful!We went to Pet Savers looking for a specific type of dog, older, calmer and small and we saw a couple on the website that we were able to ask to meet by name. We met the first choice and realized that she may not be the best fit so they brought in a couple of cute fur babies to meet - they were sweet, but not quite right for us either.They asked direct, specific questions about what we were wanting like, a smaller dog, that rides well in cars and boats, that is older...you get the idea! Then, they brought her in. THE ONE. She was a little younger and a little bigger than we thought we were looking for but she was PERFECT! She was calm, cool and collected, very friendly and playful. She was well socialized and just as sweet as can be!Thankfully, the ladies at Pet Savers knew their animals and their temperaments, and were able to introduce us to the perfect dog that is exactly what we need! We have to wait for the last vet appointment before we can bring her home, but I was so impressed that I had to go ahead and leave a note giving a shout out to these wonderful ladies! Thank you, so much, for all that you do and we are absolutely thrilled to bring our girl home soon!A few side notes - right now, I assume with the pandemic - Pet Savers is by appointment only. They have too large a setup to "tour" the facility and look at all of their animals, but you can view available adoptees on their website and ask to meet them when you call to make the appointment. You can also chat with the ladies in there to help you find the perfect match for you and/or your family also!

My boyfriend and I had an amazing experience here! We met the founder of the shelter and you can tell how passionate she is about saving animals and finding them a good home! You can tell that all the employees/volunteers are eager to rescue these animals and I couldn’t be more thankful to have adopted our dog from them!

Very professional staff!!! Manager was most helpful on accommodating our needs for a family pet!! Facility was very clean and all the fur babies seemed to be in great spirits!! The staff played and talked to the animals as they showed us around introducing every potential pet!!! Awesome awesome awesome place most definitely will return and will recommend again and again!!! Pet Savers is an amazing shelter! The staff and volunteers are hardworking and want the best for every animal there. Running a non profit has to be rough, and they do the best they can 24/7! Please remember that they have spent so much time and money on each animal so they want to make sure that dog or cat goes to the right home. If you are considering adoption, I highly recommend visiting Pet Savers, you will find the perfect dog or cat for you!

I want to start off by saying, a family that rented a house across from me abandoned two little puppies. I reached out to several businesses in my local area, and I reached out to Pet Savers as well, and out of all of the businesses that I contacted, Linda from Pet Savers was the only one that contacted me about the puppies. She was very professional, and concerned when we spoke. Although her place of business was overcrowded, she offered many other solutions for me regarding the puppies. I do appreciate her taking out the time to contact me and discuss options for the puppies. Linda was awesome!!

What a great bunch of people helping the animals!!!! I cannot say enough good things about them. I appreciate ya'll so much for all you do! Their place was very nice and organized. All the dogs had lots of space. I was VERY impressed. If anybody can donate food or anything else please do. Thanks again!!!!

I wish I would have read the reviews before going here. We were treated very rudely. Did not want to let us adopt a dog. They have so many dogs out in the cold and in dirty conditions. You would think if someone wanted to adopt one of their dogs they wouldn’t make it so difficult and treat people nicer. If I could leave zero stars I would. This is the reason people shop and not adopt because it’s so many hoops you have to jump through. Ended up buying a dog and it’s turned me off from adoption. I hope they read the reviews and change their attitude and clean up their establishment.

Pet Savers Shelter is owned by a true animal lover. As long as I have known Linda, I have known her to love animals, which was inspiring to me as a fellow animal lover (I became vegetarian at age 10). I have known her all my life, and at every point, she has been adopting and saving animals, BEFORE she founded PSS. I highly recommend supporting this organization as there is nothing but pure love and care behind everything they do!

This place was a waste of my time I was told if I get a vet she’d approve my application so I done that then I was told I needed a kennel before I could leave with the cat so I sat there waiting on the so called president when she got there she act like she didn’t know what was going on even though the volunteers explained to her before she got there just for her to act as if she wasn’t informed then she told me the same thing they already told me so I wasted my time waiting for her then I went to get a kennel and called to see if I could come back and get the cat the lady told me she’d call me back just for her to tell me another lady wouldn’t let me take the cat home because of my child as if I’m the only person in the world with kids who has animals and this isn’t my first time caring for a cat or any animal of that sort this place is a complete waste of anyone’s time I don’t even feel they should be in business I believe they let adopt who they want to let adopt and others they will just waste your time knowing they’re not going to let you adopt to begin with !

Let’s just start off with saying I love dogs more than anything in the world. If I could rate this place a zero I would.So with that being said Christmas time was coming up so I figured instead of buying a puppy for Christmas I will just go and adopt one and save a life but boy was I in a rude awakening. When I first arrived the volunteers were so nice and helpful but once I meet the devil who ran the place I just had to go. Never have I ever been treated so rudely in my life. First off she gets mad because I don’t have a vet and says she doesn’t adopt to people who don’t have them, This was very confusion to me because I’ve never had a dog in my name so how can I have a vet and she states “by now everyone has had a puppy but if u have a problem with the way I run my buisness you can go to the shelter without any questions pay 50 dollars and there goes you a puppy , I’ve been running this shop for 15 years so I run it how I want.” It took everything in me not to say anything back, I just had to get up and leave because clearly my services were not wanted. I also felt as if she was very races due to their being a white family their behind me who’s puppy had recently died but they weren’t questioned at all, the new pup was basically put in their hands. They will never for as long as live recieve my services due to this.

I was on the website and spotted Spunky a Chihuahua he was so adorable. So I get a email from J. Ott explaining to me why I was able to adopt Spunky. She told me that I don't have a veterinarian so I called up to the vet for my records and they are on paper file seemingly my Brody been deceased for 5 years I asked how long are you going to keep our records Vet told me that they keep them for ten years. So I recorded the whole conversation and then I was asked why do I need Brody file I explained that I was trying to get a shelter and I asked her did anyone named Ott call she told me no keep in mind that I have proof on my recording. She will have my records for me and I will also go to Petco for my records there also. But to show you how good God is I got blessed with 2 free Chihuahua about fifteen minutes later one of my friends and co-worker her Chihuahua had three puppies and they're in bed with me know. GOD is awesome he's never late🙏 God showed up and showed out🙏 I'm so glad and we been running around the house ❤️ God is good and I will never go over there again Sratch a liar you'll find a thief

Greeted with attitude. I’ve volunteered here multiple times with my boyfriend and we weren’t even allowed to see the dogs today. The woman there today made me never want to come back again. Absolutely disappointed with the people they’ve allowed to work there. Though I discourage anyone going here now, I still hope mister grinch finds a good home.

I can't thank Linda and the staff enough for the help they have given me with some cats I was trying to find a place for. They obviously are very caring and they are true animals lovers. If you want to adopt a pet I can't reccomend them more.

Absolutely one of the best shelters in Shreveport bossier. They educate you on the dog and pair you with the best one. All their dogs are well taken care of and they are UTD, spayed and neutered before they leave! Wouldnt go anywhere else to adobt!

look it dont matter how they acted, i kinda felt the same way. i was there for one reason and that was to rescue a dog that needed a good home. found one we rly liked hit it off and bam. told them the truth about our first dog and told them what they wanted to hear and then everyone was happy. we love our dog she is awesome and very well taken care of. i think they just freak out bc they dont want the animal in the same situation. either way we had a good go at this shelter and wld def send my frends to find the right dog. they have many to choose from

On our trip from Houston to Ruston we stopped on the side of the road to take a picture with the Louisiana sign and heard a kitten meowing in the bushes. We picked him up to bring him to a shelter because he was very skinny and to young to fend for himself. I called the number listed on the sign and the lady was very rude. She stated she would NOT take a cat and DEFFINETLY NOT A KITTEN.But don't worry, we found a very nice shelter in Shreveport that took the kitten and we donated money to ensure the cat is well taken care of.You should probably change your company name... this was an animal in need.

They are not taking cats anymore no they do not advertise it also there's a massive pothole out there that will tear up the bottom of your car if you're not careful and it goes down heel so it really scrapes The underneath but they are doing really good with the dogs there that I've noticed although when I arrive they seemed a little hustle and bustle at the time so I'm not sure about their service as far as adopting goes but hey there's a lot of wonderful dogs there go to it go get one they need good homes big small medium they're all there enjoy!

This is one of the worst shelters in the Shreveport area. The volunteers (except Ms.Sarah) are extremely rude and pushy. They didn't want us to help us find the right dog and when we asked to see dogs they answer was always no. The founder of the shelter was clueless and these dogs are kept in unsanitary conditions. If I could give 0 stars I would.
