Wonderful little old fashion hardware store. They carry a very large allotment of screws, bolts, nuts, washers and specialty items not found in big box stores. They also have a very nice selection of large size Cajun cookware. I love this place but I dislike the hours. I am sure it is for the best but closing at noon on a Saturday just kills me. Now that they have teamed up with Ace Hardware the tool selection has grown and they offer a wider choice of options for said tools. The staff is still as pleasant as they were the very first time I went in there 15 years ago. There is something nice about going to the smaller store and being able to find everything that you need in less than an hour and not have to walk five miles up and down 90 different aisles.

More than once I've showed up at Guidry's with a picture of my plumbing problem and told them what was happening - they give me the parts & tools I need and I come home & fix the problem myself. This is my go-to place for all my hardware and plumbing needs.

I went to Guidry's Hardware in Scott, LA, today. The parking lot was full and the store was crowded so I resigned myself to a bit of a wait. I walked in and was quickly greeted by Mr. Gayle. I needed a specialized reducing connector for my garden's rainwater tote and a container of a super drain cleaner. Mr. Gayle immediately got what I actually needed (vs what I thought I needed) for my tote connector then got me a bottle of the oh-so-awesome Liquid Fire drain cleaner. I was in and out in minutes with everything on my list! We just moved to Lafayette, LA, and googled privately owned hardware stores and found Guidry's at the top of the list results. Needless to say, we are HAPPY with our find and I really recommend Guidry's Hardware in Scott, LA, and Mr. Gayle as a true resource! We will be back!

The new updates to the store are very nice. My only complaint is that their system for ringing up individual nuts and bolts is poor. Each piece is a different price, but they cannot look it up by name. They should consider placing pens and post-it's in the area as a stop gap until they can update their POS.

Update: With their recent renovation and additional inventory, I can get most things I need from their store. I’m glad they re-invested in the community and look forward to shopping there in the future. The additional hours on Saturday are great too!Great locally owned hardware store. They have almost anything you need and if they don't, will get it for you.

Nice little small-town hardware store. Staff is knowledgeable and extremely helpful (almost too much at times, sometimes I want to browse, lol).My only complaint is the business hours, they're only open for a few hours on Saturday and not at all on Sunday. Sorry, but that's when I need a hardware store, when I'm doing repairs on the weekend. I end up having to drive all the way to Home Depot when I'd rather just deal local.

Love this place. You can get almost any thing you need without having to go to town. It might cost a little more, but it's worth it. The people working there are so nice and helpful and knowledgeable. They know where every thing is. We love going here.

Great. I went to buy 1 as set screw for 32 cents. At their place you can buy only one and don't have to buy a pack with 5 or more. Saves money and waste that way when all you need is 1. Highly recommend this place for all your hardware needs.

They can never find me in their system. I spent $2500.00 there last year and I was told that my wires, plugs and other building materials were not building materials, so I can’t use my rewards points or coupons. I like to do small town business, but sometimes it’s not worth it.

Guidry's Hardware in Scott is one of the finest family owned stores. Always very nice and willing to help. Strongly recommend going there, especially if you have a DIY project that your honey has been badgering you about. Lol just joking. But GUIDRYS isn't joking, they make you feel at home.

An elderly family member went to the Scott location to pick up a piece of lawn equipment that she ordered online from the Guidry’s website. When the manager brought it out it was unboxed and had a bag with a pair of safety glasses. She asked for the warranty info and owners manual. The manager said he didn’t have it. She said she didn’t want to accept it that way. He told her that a refund would take time because their online billing is through a third party company. She asked for cash instead and he said “were not a bank”. When she asked about the return policy he said it would need to be returned to Stihl. The Lafayette location has much better customer service but she won’t be shopping here again.

Guide is not the same as it used to be. They're switching brands and there's not as much merchandise one can purchase in bulk.And it's forced buying: for instance, one has to purchase three different sizes in a package just to acquire one, of the the correct size; clothes line wire comes pre-cut a certain length; things like that.And, the quality isn't the same...
