I can’t say enough good things about Dr. Goss and his staff at Prairieville Animal Hospital. They are very professional and extremely caring. We had 2 dogs that they cared for over several years. Our big dog developed a cancerous lesion on his face about a year ago. We watched it very closely, but it just got to be huge. He was 19 years old, and had lived a very nice life. When it got to the point that he couldn’t eat without bleeding, we decided to end his misery. They worked around our work schedules and let us grieve for a very long time in the room with him.Six months later our other dog was vomiting a lot and started to get lethargic. We initially thought it was because we were traveling a lot and boarding him (along with the fact that he was sad too after losing his brother). Since he was not getting better and took him in to get to the root of the problem. Dr. Goss did exploratory surgery and found what he thought was stomach cancer. Dr. Goss was very patient with him. He spent a week in ICU. Dr Goss checked on him twice each night after hours and called us every day with updates. When the test results came back and it was indeed stomach cancer, we were devastated. Our pup came home for 2 days, but he was just miserable. We decided to end his misery too. Once again, the staff at Prairieville Animal Hospital worked with us and our schedule to find the right time to put him to sleep.Throughout the entire ordeal, Dr. Goss called us daily. He was so sympathetic and offered such great bedside manner when we were just so sad. Our family is so very appreciative for all the time, thoughts and prayers the staff gave us throughout this awful time. Our family has only had 3 dogs. Our first lived 16 years, then these 2 lived 19 and 12 years. Dogs become such part of your family. I’m proud to say that these 2 pups had the VERY BEST CARE in the Baton Rouge area! I would strongly recommend Dr. Goss and his staff to anyone looking for a veterinarian!!

We have been bringing our little dog, Chubacca, to the Prairieville AnimalHospital for several years under the care of Dr. Travis Procell. This past Friday, March 3, 2023 we had to put our precious little 10 year old dog to sleep. Dr. Procell, then and in the past, has been an excellent veterinarian who not only explains your pet’s health issues very well but also displays great compassion. When we had to put our little dog to sleep, Dr. Procell and the staff were so very kind and explained the process to us to be sure we understood and if we had any questions. As difficult as the decision had been it was reassuring to know that our little pup never felt any pain and was handled with such gentleness. The entire staff is wonderful, and my husband and I highly recommend Prairieville Animal Hospital for your pet’s health care.

I travel for work and happened to be in the area when my English Bulldog had a horrible allergic reaction. They got me in the same day, seemed more knowledgeable than my regular vet and I was shocked at how reasonable the bill was for all they did for us. I’m forever grateful!

I brought my dog in for a mysterious illness, Dr Procell was very concerned about his illness. Unfortunately the diagnosis was kidney failure with a terrible prognosis. Dr. Procell gave our pet fluids and something for pain so we could have time to say goodbyes. When it was time to put our dog to sleep. Dr Procell and his assistance was extremely professional, kind, and compassionate. They made the difficult process easier to bear.

I just moved to BR. I took my cat for a dental cleaning and some extractions. The staff are extremely nice, we were seen at the appointment time, my cat came out of surgery and she was happy. Next day playful and eating. I am very happy i pick this place for Mittens. I am definitely bringing all my pets here

The staff here is so friendly:) I really appreciate the care they take with my diabetic cat that has to take 2 insulin shots a day. I would happily recommend having them take care of your pets while you’re out of town.

Absolutely love the entire staff. Our vet is Dr. Heather Harkins and she is amazing. Everyone is so helpful and courteous when we call or go there. Their kennel service is great.

I have used this clinic since the week it opened. Dr. Lance made it welcoming and comfortable and always made you feel that your fur baby truly mattered. It has now changed hands with Dr. Goss and his staff giving the same outstanding treatment. In the last year I have had 2 tragic events with 2 fur babies and the care and compassion that was given to my babies and to my family was amazing. I definitely can say, this is the place to take your babies if you want top of the line care and compassion!! The old sayin stands true! You pay for what you get!!! But, isn’t your baby worth the world to you? Mine are!!

Excellent experience everytime.Everyone so nice and very helpful to explaining all my questions. I called their office numerous times before scheduling the appointment to be prepared and the front office knew how to handle every question without putting me on hold. My dog was spayed and it went well. It seem like all the staff are very experienced so it is nice to feel comfortable they got a great team. It is also easy to email them with questions. This is my first veterinarian that shows they care. Thank you for helping my dog live a better life ❤️💕💐

Dealt with an extremely rude blonde front desk lady. My dog and I accidentally went to the wrong office and she talked so rudely and condescending to me like I was stupid over a simple mistake. After interacting with her, I was glad we were at the wrong office.

Just moving to the area I was completely overwhelmed with the number of available Vets, but Prairieville Animal Hospital really took the cake! They were so friendly and so speedy with everything. All of the vets here have seen my two pets and I’ve always had the absolute best experience and care with them. I never have any trouble getting an appointment or a returned phone call! Our newest baby just boarded there for the first time and was relaxed and well taken care of when we picked him up! The staff is always incredibly helpful and the doctors make sure to take their time with you and your pet. When we lived in Alabama for a short while we even drove in special to see them for any vet needs!! I will always bring my pets here and feel certain that I’m getting the best care possible for my pets! Thanks for always being amazing!!

Been bringing my dogs since they were puppies! I absolutely LOVE Prarieville Animal Hospital - all of the doctors have been so good to me & my 2 dogs. I’ve come to them for everything as they’ve grown, including a few emergencies, and they’ve taken care of everything calmly, smoothly, and professionally while even taking care of me lol! I had an emergency on my baby. She had a loose tooth and was up all night and wouldn't sleep. Knowing this I knew I had to fast her in case of surgery so I did a walk in the next morning and transfer my records from another Veterinarian office. Not only were they compassionate to Rita's needs, they quickly got her into surgery the same day. They truly care about their patients. I have no words that can express my gratitude. Rita will be coming here from now on for all her care. Thank you so much Dr. Procell and RVT Drew.

I take all my pets here (a dog and 2 cats). The staff is friendly, efficient and caring. I get text or email reminders of my appointments, and I never have to sit and wait for the doctor. (Except once when there was an emergency...a dog hit by a car. Then the entire staff went into immediate 'save a life mode' and I was more than happy to wait!) I was recently dealing with a very old cat (15+) who started running a mystery fever and stopped eating. Dr Goss was wonderful throughout the entire process. He always let me know what my options for treatment were, what the cost would be and what the likelihood of a positive outcome were. When we eventually ran out of practical options, that, too, was handled with kindness and sensitivity. Although I'm planning on moving to Gonzales in the near future, my pets will continue to go to Prairieville Animal Hospital.

I've seen others complain, but I am VERY impressed with the time and attention that Drs Percell and Hidalgo have shown to my animals. I took one of my cats in when I thought she was choking and Dr Percell was very thorough and attentive to her and my concerns, and he was again today when I took my GSD in after my clumsy husband stepped on her wrist. Prices are very reasonable, and everyone has been nice, professional, helpful and great with the care of me pets. I definitely recommend.

I've been taking my dogs to Prairieville Animal Hospital for years - even when I had to drive in from LSU. The staff is always kind, courteous, and professional, and the vets are excellent. Dr. Hidalgo is punctual, straight-forward, and answers all of my questions. I never feel like he's in a hurry to get to the next appointment. The staff is patient and caring, and I can tell they really care about the animals. PAH is an excellent place with excellent vets, wonderful staff, and I couldn't recommend them more highly.

Paisley our fur baby was a rescue. We never knew about her before life. Together with the staff we found out less was more for her. After 8 years she still loves them like family. Not many would care let alone take time to make us all comfortable. They do.

We've been taking our two dogs and cat here for 10+ years and absolutely love all the doctors. Our regular DVM is Dr. Goss and he is very open to any questions and happy to take the time to discuss any concerns we may have. Many have mentioned prices being high, however though the service fee for a given procedure may be higher, at many other vets anesthesia or other expenses are not quoted in the initial cost and ultimately the prices are typically the same.
