Dr.Dufrene was very helpful when I brought a cat into my family (1st time cat owner). Gave me all the tips and tricks down to how often to change his litter. When my older dog was sick she fought with us to find answers until we ran out of options. She encouraged me to utilize another vet near by with the equipment that they didn't have at the time. During the time of finding out my dog was terminal the entire clinic at petstar was very kind to me. We recently brought out new pup in and are already treating him like family. And of course cant forget our other crazy dog. She absolutely loves all the attention she gets when she pulls out her drama degree. Great staff all around and very patient with pet owners who ask a million questions.

Dr. Dufrene, Nicole and the rest of the staff here have been so amazing for the last two years. I was a new dog mom and had lots of questions. Dr. Dufrene told me I could message her if I needed. She helped me a few times that way, and I was very thankful. Their clinic looks and smells so clean. They are very gentle and take their time at each appointment. I’m so glad someone recommended Pet Star to us!

Everyone there is professional and caring. My fur babies love going there.. they know exactly where to go. My Maltese walks in like owns the place. I know they are well taken care of & loved. When I pick them up they’re both smiling. Place is amazing

Best vet and staff! Dr. Dufrene is a skilled surgeon in addition to always explaining all my dogs’ conditions, care, and expected outcomes. Nicole and Lalo (sp?) are knowledgeable technicians and always just a phone call away. Office practices include follow up calls when appropriate, as well as scheduling and confirmation appointment reminders. I’m very happy with the PetStar Prairieville team.

I use PetStar for all of our vet services, but we hadn’t boarded with them till recently. We had a wonderful experience boarding with PetStar! Our two dogs are both around 1 year old and it was their first time to be boarded for a couple nights. We put them together in the presidential suite. When we picked them up, they were clean, happy, and healthy. The staff is always so nice and helpful. Great experience all around!

Horrible customer service and zero compassion. The workers act like it’s their first day every time I’m in there and are so unfriendly and rude. I’ve only met the doctor only ONCE and all three of my pets have been there multiple times. It’s like pulling teeth to get answers from them. the one guy that works in the front always has attitude and doesn’t seem to care about the pets or owners. I’m not sure how this place has Almost 5 stars on google but thats definitely not the experience I had. When you walk in there, no one will greet you. They won’t give you any information about your pets Unless you specifically ask. I do not recommend for many reasons. The doctor was nice, but her staff is very rude and unprofessional.

Our first visit was great! Everyone was so friendly. Dr Dufrene was so nice and explained everything well. I brought Khloe in for a mass I had found. I was so relieved to hear Dr Janie say it was just a lipoma. I’m thrilled that I didn’t have to wait a week to get in when I was so scared and nervous. I’m very happy with the care we received. I will be making an appointment for our other dog Olivia very soon and switching them both to Pet star. I highly recommend them to anyone searching for a vet.

Refused to let me hold my dog for a ear swab. Also refused to let me swab it. Also didn't want me weighing my own dog. Then lied and acted like it's like this is everywhere which was comedical because it's usually the opposite. Most places let you hold your dog and weigh your dog. I left mid appointment and first vet I call and ask if I could hold him down and they said no problem. Edit: I asked the vet tech how exactly would you hold him, explain what you do with your hands. His response was ill "hold him right". I'm an expert in Brazilian jiu-jitsu jitsi. I tried explain that and explaining I know real techniques to be able to hold my dog. Also my dog is simply not friendly with strangers touching him. There are bad vets out there, especially in louisiana. Do not trust these places with these rules. Also your vet tech told me adult dogs don't get impetigo, a simple google search will you its not likely but it is possible. They lack basic knowledge. At another vet I let someone take my dog in the back and she doesn't walk on leash with random people. I hard her yelping in the back and she came back limping and scared. Don't go to these places

Absolutely amazing staff!!! My husband & I were very impressed with the family (vet staff). One fur baby of ours, Blue, is aggressive & she doesn't take well to new people...well, she went in with a muzzle & growling BUT, when we picked her back up from the vet, had NO MUZZLE & HAPPILY WAGGING HER TAIL while they brought her to us. After this visit that we were able to get her in on the same day within 2 hours as a new patient, decided that they will be the family to care for our fur babies.

Fantastic staff and phenomenal vet! The support you receive and the constant communication when your furbaby is in their care is absolutely amazing! I had to bring my pup to them for an emergency scenario because his usual vet wasn't available. Of course, I was hesitant because I didnt know this facility or the people and I wasn't going for just a vaccination. I was so in love with the cleanliness of the facilty and the welcoming staff. His emergency continued over a few days and the doctor stayed in constant contact with me while my baby was at home with me and when he was in her care the next day!

My dog went there for a follow up visit for his eye and left with severe diarrhea and vomiting. He now has the shakes and I have to take him to another vet to get proper medical care. I wouldn't refer anyone here. They do not know what they are doing.

If you're looking for a new vet then I would suggest trying this place out! I saw Dr. Dufrene and she was very nice. All of the staff were friendly and they even gave me a tour of the place so that I felt more comfortable. I have moved a lot and seen plenty of vets that were inexperienced and tried to get as much money out of me as they could so I'm skeptical about vets. This staff was not any of that. They were genuine and caring. For recently opening I was impressed with her and the staff!

Our family used Petstar in Ruston for our previous furbaby. They handled everything when we made to decision to end his suffering. After we grieved for the loss of our beloved pet and got our youngest out of diapers, we decided to adopt another dog from Companion Animal Alliance. We immediately searched for a local vet since we no longer live in Ruston. We were delighted to discover that Petstar had grown and expanded to multiple cities, including Prairieville. Our dog Krewe loves going to the Vet! He is always excited to see his doctor and they treat him very well. As he is a shelter puppy, they answered all of our questions and concerns. Their staff is very knowledgeable and obviously care very much for the animals in their care. Love this place!

Dr. Dufrene is a vet who really knows her stuff. My dogs, Chase and Hendrick, both love her and they are well taken care of when they go see her. She figured out Hendrick has vasculitis in his ears after having his ear tips bleed for a couple months straight. She was able to order a medication to help with his issue.
