DO NOT GO HERE IF YOU HAVE SMALL ANIMALS!!!! I brought my 2 yr old Guinea pig on 12-8-23. I hand raised him since he fit into the palm of my hand. I don’t usually go here. They came highly recommended by another vet for small animals. I’m a single mom who works 2 jobs to make ends meet. Every vet I’ve ever gone to before they conduct any procedure or action will ask if it is all right to proceed with treatment, due to cost, consent, etc. NONE of this was done. The vet was nice enough. She did not seemed concerned with his condition. Which she had none to report after examination and 3 ex rays. $407 later and a seemingly “just nurse him back to health, administer antibiotics and pain meds.” He would get better”. At that time, I was told to pick up antibiotics from the Hammond location. I went to the Hammond location where the girl at the desk waited on me. Told me it wasn’t ready that she would have one of her techs work on it. I sat there for 20 minutes and finally re approached the desk to ask “should I come back later?” Only then did she tell me “We’re out, sorry.” I asked when to pick it up. She said she would call me before 1pm. No one ever called me. On Saturday 12-9-23 I did EVERYTHING the vet told me to do to get him better. No call, no antibiotics and when I got home he was deceased. The worse part about it is my 6 yr old found him. This devastated us all. And when I called to get even a partial refund because it had been less than 24 hours from the vet visit, with no antibiotics, I was told I’m so sorry about your guinea pig, but we cannot refund any money at this time. I will NEVER return. Who treats a family pet who is dying, charges the owner, sends them home with a promising diagnosis for him to die 24 hours later and be charged $407??My very first job was at a veterinary clinic. I know that the vet that I worked with would have never let the animal leave without proper care, or at all if he had an inclination that the prognosis was terminal. He would have suggested to put down the animal. ESPECIALLY if the animal was suffering. (My animal was in pain)He definitely would have refunded at minimum partially, if the animal died less than 24 hours later. Especially not giving the animal the proper diagnosis or medications to treat them. I never write anything negative. But this has affected my kids.

I made the mistake of making my appointment at the Hammond office when I thought I was talking to the Ponchatoula office so I showed up for my appointment in Ponchatoula and they worked me in so that I didn’t have to drive to Hammond. And I saw another vet and she did good with my cat and now I’m waiting to hear from the original vet that I would’ve seen in Hammond if I had not called the wrong place.

Every visit I am greeted with a kind smile, a warm greeting, and pleasant smells. If you like large lobbies to separate your pets from others, this is the place. I got a tour of their cat boarding and it is top notch with a large window and squirrel/bird feeders outside. You can tell that every staff member is there because they love animals. It makes me feel like my babies are in good hands.

Friendly staff, knowledgeable staff. Took good care of my dog. Was happy with results, not so happy with the bill! I think services are too high and expensive! It's all worth it for my little Ginger. Our pets are family and when they need care, this is a great place to bring them.

I’ve recently moved to the area and needed a new vet. When I called to make the appointment for my dogs heart-worm exam and medicine the woman was super helpful and didn’t give me any of the usual snobby vibes I’ve found at recent vets. There was no major red tape to go through to make a simple appointment, and I was able to transfer over my vet records with no issue. The staff loved my dog, even though he needed a muzzle to get a shot in the butt, but who could blame him. He’s a husky. The vet didn’t shame me into buying extra products or vaccines which I appreciated.

We switched to Pet Care Center from the Animal Care Center simply because it was closer and more convenient. When Dr. Ganucheau took us in, I was overwhelmed with relief because she tended to my pup for the end of life process (I'm in tears just thinking about this). Her kind and excellent bedside manner didn't make me less hurt and scared, but she certainly took the edge off. I highly recommend either ACC or PCC if you adore your dog like I did. If that's not enough, the front end young ladies were so very friendly. They pulled Mylan's file to link it with my current dog to find a $100 credit from the end of lufe appointment for my dog before he took the one way walk and asked of we'd like to apply it! I'm sure many of you know that's a good bit of change. I wouldn't consider anywhere else but PCC and ACC. Their doctors, techs, and administrativel staff are absolutely THE BEST, and their services don't cost an outrageous price for routine services.

At time of emergency they were very helpful. I was unable to pay in full beause I had a accedent and inable to work. I was told by Morgan girl at front desk they would wait gor payment. After approval from the doctor, she told me before she ran the card for payment I would be contacted. The week I had surgery,Morgan called alright to let me know she had already took 150.00 of the165.00 mywife had left out of her check. And we were . Not notified, until they took all they could. So mow my girls get to start with no backs or supplies. Thanks for all your help in a very hard time.M .Petty. My advice to anyone is not to leave a card number in there possesion, and owe anything because they will use it without letting you know anything. Money that was for my kids school supplies they took with a call for approval..so pet care center took there money and my kids get to start school without backpachs or supplies. Thanks Pet Care Center.
