I’ve been bringing my dog here since I adopted him 4 years ago and I am never disappointed with this place. We’ve seen a handful of the doctors and techs and they’re all knowledgeable and genuinely caring. They are patient with my stubborn schnauzer as well as answering all my questions! Even the secretaries are always super nice and helpful. Last week I called the office multiple times with questions about my dogs condition and Ms Octavia was so sweet and patient with me, and I got all the information I needed. Thank you VCA Algiers for your fantastic service, your hard work is sooo appreciated!

Algiers Animal Hospital is an amazing jewel! Dr. Saunders and the other staff treated my morkie with the upmost care! From the moment we walked into the clinic we were welcomed with warmth and kindness. They thoroughly examined my baby and allowed him to get groomed as he needed terribly! VCA Algiers also offers great and affordable care plans for your baby making care easy to access!We will definitely be returning! I was extremely pleased with services from the medical side to the grooming!

The staff is awesome. My pitbull passed away at the clinic in September. They were so caring to my son and I. We also received a sympathy card from them. They allowed us to spend as much time as we needed with out departed Princess. I would recommend them to anyone.

This place is super! Within a week of moving to NOLA, my baby Jackie had fleas. The fleas here are crazy! After finding the fleas here are apparently immune to Frontline, I called Algiers Animal Hospital. Although they didn't have any appointments available, they were very kind to recommend and supply me with a prescription flea regimen, and were very informative. A week later when I took Jackie in for a wellness visit, the doctor took lots of time examining my pup and answering all of my questions. He was also very patient and accommodating with her anxiety. Their prices are quite reasonable as well. I definitely recommend this place. Thanks!

The staff is kind and friendly. No one has to wait too long for an appointment.It's definitely a little pricier than others around, however the quality of care is well worth it.

Had to go to another vet because they estimated the cost for just diagnosis tests would cost $1,000. No medicine or anything. It seems as if they just want to take advantage of people with sick pets who are willing to pay anything to make their pet feel better.

I wouldn't trust VCA with my animals life... it's obvious that they wont even do bare minimum for your pet.It only takes so much effort to achieve patient & family comfort, or even having top priority health for an animal. And to no suprise VCA couldn't even do that. It's saddening and heartbreaking to think of all the animals who go undiagnosed under their care..When you think of a vet you want them to have the health of your pet as a top priority. VCA doesn't. They refused tests for a cat who was a little wiggly, and refused to let his owner go with him (the only person who kept him calm). Misdiagnosed his age by 10 YEARS. Could have felt an enlarged kidney just by touching his stomach but obviously these vets are so undertrained they couldn't even do that.Not only do they not care about your pets comfort and health, they don't care about family or their ability to pay either. Doubling even TRIPLING the prices a small family doctor could have diagnosed for $40-$50... Im at a loss of words VCA... please do better

When Andrew Gutter was the sole owner, this was the best place anyone could have taken their animals for care. Andy was dedicated to excellence and making sure his clients were in a family atmosphere. Now that VCA has taken over, the family atmosphere has gone away, the prices have quadrupled and the place is not the same. Best thing one can do is transfer to another vet. I was loyal to Andrew Gutter for over 50yrs and today I wouldn’t send my worst enemy there.

I'm planning to take my cat here but I don't know how to book an appointment so if anyone could explain it would be very helpful, also if I take my cat here can they do check ups for cats itching on their body and nck and scrathing their necks? I believe she might have fleas and I wanna make sure shes okay because I also want to give her like vaccines for flea, heartworm or just any type of bugs in cats so if its possible, can someone explain?

The staff at VCA Algiers is exceptional and my puppy has been there since he was 8 weeks old. Dr.Bass has done a good job with him. The boarding process is so quick and easy. I don’t think many people know about the boarding availability here. Reasonably priced and my pup seemed to be well cared for. The groomer here is a godsend every time I board we ask for a bath and he comes home shiny and smelling good ! His nails are properly trimmed and he is such a happy pup. Thank you VCA Algiers and team. So sad to be PCSING away from the area. Wish you all the best in the future.

Ok. I get it. More vets these days are becoming conglomerates. While I appreciate that the staff here was incredibly helpful, personable, and knowledgeable; I do mean that, I can’t appreciate these people enough.All I can say that is that they’re incredibly expensive. It took no less than $255 to diagnose my kitten with fleas. $125 of that price was the new prescription medication, but the rest seems to go to the gift bag on the way out.Thanks for the lint brushes, keychains, and the information on beautiful card stock; The custom bag and branded everything else that went with it.While I do believe that the people here are interested in the best treatment of your pets, the corporate monster behind them is definitely out for your money and I think that we should all consider that fact when choosing a vet.This place displays itself as a local vet, and honestly, has local service, but it hurts because I know at the end of the day 90% of our money is going to the CEO.Sadly, I won’t go back. 270 something dollars to diagnose fleas.

Left feeling chastised for not being able to afford "proper care". Sorry money is tight at the moment but at least I brought my pet in. But since I wasn't able to afford the whole treatment or buy product unrelated to the illness, my pet received sub par care and I felt rushed out. No one even made sure I knew how to properly treat my pet at home, instead saying "If it doesn't get better, come back for "this" service". Completely unprofessional and I will not be returning.

Been a loyal customer for 10+ years. Have never been disappointed with the level of care & professionalism that myself or my dog receives. From the front desk to the boarding, grooming and as for the vets-I think we’ve seen all or most of them, always very good at dealing with my dog ( who when sick, can be aggressive) I feel blessed having them as my go to for numerous boardings. As well, year round vetinary care. And, we’re lucky to have them so close by! I’d drive to the moon to make my dog comfortable! All good in the neighborhood...

New to the areas and my puppers were in need of grooming. I love the the no contact procedures in place and the dogs looked fantastic and were in great moods. When we go back to our regular scheduled lives here I will definitely make this my permanent veterinarian home.

Algiers Animal Clinic has great vets and the rest of the staff are excellent as well. Each vet and vet tech treats your pets as if they were their own. All of the staff are knowledgeable and friendly and always helpful. They have gone out of their way several times to ensure my cats and dogs receive the best treatment.

I specifically gave the front desk feeding instructions on the phone and I wrote them down. The instructions were not followed because my dog came back with all of his treats in the bag. The hospital manager gave me some bull about why he didn't get his treats which I didn't believe. My dog would never stay there again. My dog stayed there 5 days only eating just his food at 5:30 in the evenings and never ever getting one of his snacks.

It’s upsetting to see such great reviews because I would have loved to bring my pet there. However the lady at the front desk was so rude to me that I’m simply not going to pay someone who treats me with disrespect. I worked all night last night and was a little late getting up. I showed up at 11:25 for my 11:15 appointment and she said that we might as well go home because we were already a half hour late for our appointment. I don’t know if they had a miscommunication about what time I was to come in or what but first impressions are big and if you have to shoot off at the mouth in the first 20 seconds that I walk in the door, I’m taking my business elsewhere.

I highly recommend Algiers Animal Clinic if you need a vet, boarder or pet groomer for your dog or cat. We have used all services for our dog and cat are have been extremely happy with the quality and price.The Doctors and staff are professional amd caring. We have never felt pressured into expensive treatments that we have experienced at other vets. They have taken great care of our pets and have been able to get appointments very quickly.

Love this place! They handled my 17 year old very finicky (lets just say he doesnt like going to the doctor!!) kitty with love and expertise, which no vet has ever been able to do. Stephanie is the BEST with all animals! They got the job done quickly and professionally, and kitty is managing his pancreatitis and feeling much better these days. They are the best!!

I tell Preston that I’m taking him there and he keeps looking out the window and doesn’t even give me a chance to get out of my door, he has jumped out already! Just picked my dog up from his first boarding stay. He has been there Thursday - Monday morning (today). They said they take them out 3 times a day, but is covered in so much poop, his fur is tacky. Had to feed him extra because he's eating like he's starving. I don't know the last time he ate. He's filthy, shedding, dehydrated, and hungry. Never again will I leave my dog there...
