Rouses on Baronne St. Slam Dunk folks. So convenient to all the hotels on St Charles St and surrounding areas. We had a nice kitchen suite at Residence Inn and regularly walked to Rouses to get crayfish boil which they put out at 11 am. James(highlighted in pic above) was so helpful, friendly knowledgeable about seafood prep that we ordered a pound of crawfish, corn, potatoes, etc. for awesome southern meal. Be sure to ask for James. Also Brent the manager gave us other tips about gumbo and specialties of the store.

Visiting New Orleans for a week, our Uber driver recommended this local grocery store chain. It’s a nice grocery store with an impressive selection of wine, cheese, and more. For groceries for the week, it was ideal and within walking distance to our Airbnb.

Local grocery chain within walking distance of lots of hotels. I walked over on my first day in New Orleans to grab some water and snacks for my stay. It's a good midsize store with a healthy amount of options. The store itself looks deceptively small from the outside. Staff were friendly at checkout and throughout the store. Prices for some products were higher than I expected going in, but the store branded items and in-house fresh goods had great prices. Will likely be back this same trip.

I really like Rouses Market because they are locally owned and offer good products at reasonable prices. Shopping at the Baronne Street location is a special treat. The Royal Street location is super convenient but about one half the size of this store. Great selection and a great inventory.

This family-owned market boasts incredibly fresh products, including a wide array of ready-made foods and freshly cut produce and fruits. During my initial exploration of New Orleans, I sought out a supermarket for some fresh cut fruit to enjoy back at my hotel. Luckily, Rouses Supermarket was just a convenient 9-minute walk from my accommodations, with a CVS conveniently situated across from it. The supermarket impressed me with its cleanliness and neatly displayed produce, all of which looked remarkably fresh. The cut fruit I purchased was not only fresh but also deliciously flavorful. Though I only bought fruit on this occasion, if I lived in the area, I'd definitely become a regular customer.

Great grocery store. Walked from hotel we are staying at to get some fruit for our room. The deli and hot food is delicious. Lots to choose from. Husband even got some dirty rice, greens and baked wings. Yummy.

OMG what an incredible supermarket. The staff here knows the meaning of customer service. Southern hospitality at its best. I could just spend hours looking around. You will definitely find what you're looking 4 plus more. Excellent experience at this supermarket.

Vacationing in the area and my wife wanted to go to Whole Foods... I said we didn’t drive 10 hours to go to Whole Foods so we went here. It was a very pleasant surprise. We were both glad we did something more local.Very cool interior. Felt like a fancy grocery store but didn’t have that air about it. Very nice meat, seafood, and deli counters. Parking lot was tiny, but even around 5 PM on a Saturday it had a few spots open.

Not a great experience, the payment system faulted twice, first because it displayed that it did not accept a card that it had accepted a couple of hours before. Then because, even worse, it took the money from the card anyway and few minutes later after we had already paid with another card. The result is we paid twice, first with the card that supposedly did not work, and then with the other it accepted. We tried to explain the situation to the employees but we were denied a refund. I won’t and wouldn’t shop there in the future. Be aware

Cute grocery store to shop local food especially crawfish. We came and visited during Memorial Weekend. The first time we went around 10pm and all the food were gone. We got there around 3pm the next day and luckily we bought the last two bags of crawfish. It’s very cheap and fresh. The flavor is not that strong like the restaurant but definitely worth it. We bought 11.5 lbs for about 20 something bucks. So come early!!!

This supermaket has lots of selection. I like they mark "Local" for local product. Most hot food run out by dinner time even when the supermarket is not closed yet. The entry from the non-parking side is hard to find for first timer.

If you are a visitor and like to try some local seafood at a very affordable price, I highly recommend you to visit this supermarket. Everything we tried was very tasty and fresh. The tags indicated what times the seafood was cooked. Check them out you won’t be disappointed.

We went here our first day in New Orleans because of course we needed to stock the fridge and it was pretty close to our air b n b. We walked here in the pouring rain so I was pleased to find out when we got here they had mostly everything we would need from groceries to liqour and even some hot food. Service was alright kind of slow and not alot of personality but then again it's just a grocery store hahah...

My cashier was kind and helpful, even when I was rude and interrupted her while she was checking someone else out asking with stuff overflowing my hands if it was ok to grab a cart. (I wish I had gotten her name, I will when I return. AND I WILL RETURN!) Now she was all about her business but not irritated more like "com'on girl!?GO GET YOU A CART! " All just from a nod and a look. Lol! 😆 Upon returning to do My check-out her line was empty and I had to stop because (I as well have high work ethics and can appreciate this) she was maliciously straightening her paper bag stack and neatly aligning her little items for her job at the end of her lane. WHAT I LOVED THE MOST was I walked up, and did she drop what she was doing to accommodate me? No. WAIT! Only because She had to finish her organizing (only took a minute) study the job she had done and decided it was adequate enough to attend to my needs. I'll wait a minute for anyone to set their tools right to make sure I am well taken care of, SURE WILL! With a smile on my face I happily walked out with my inexpensive BUT QUALITY items I had purchased from Rouses...Thanks Rouses for a great experience and thank you young malicious lady at the last lane. Your a cool chic!💛😁

I stayed at a Hotel approximately 3 blocks away from Rouse Market. I've never been to a Grocery Store so Awesome. I bought the freshest salad and hot food(self-serve)including cooked seafood. I was totally impressed. When I saw those Tomahawk steaks, I fell in love. I Can't wait to be back in town in a few weeks.

Great grocery store, easy to get to from the Hyatt. The staff are great. I made a late night run last night and even though the bakery counter was closed, the woman working there served me an amazing mini pumpkin cheesecake. The fruit tart is also great. I had the Cuban sandwich sliders (they lasted for two meals, so that was a real $5 bargain) and they were super tasty. Couldn’t find them again. So maybe you have to get lucky. I’m writing this as a tourist at a hotel that doesn’t seem to offer a grab and go option. The stock looks typical for a grocery store besides the quick eats.

The customer service is AMAZING. I called to speak to someone in the meat department but it rang out so the concierge personally walked over my name and phone number to the meat department. I thought for sure they wouldn’t call back but about 5 minutes later I got a call from the Dillon, the butcher, confirming my order from 3 weeks ago. I didn’t even have to explain who I was or what I was calling about. They looked up my order in advance just by my first name and knew I was calling about it. Truly amazing service. I have yet to try the meat but if it’s any indication of attention to detail as demonstrated by their customer service, then I’m sure it’ll be amazing.

I wanted to return an expired package of pecans I got from them and they were finding many excuses in order not to give me the money I paid for it back . They were asking me for my id in order to return it. I showed them my European ID and they said they wanted an American one and they couldn't accept mine After a lot of discussion on the matter they were telling me to purchase an item and pay for the difference. It was nerve racking and I was very disappointed that they didn't want to take responsibility for selling expired items and that they didn't want to resolve the issue immediately but I had to spend all that time trying to explain my position when it was their mistake. I liked that market because it was near my place but I don't think I will go back again due to this bad experience I had from the staff.

Wonderful marketplace. This store has the inventory of a large grocery store confined within a small area.  The parking is exceptionally tight.   Large SUVs would have a hard time   maneuvering within their parking lot.

The market is really nice and the prices are too, you can find anything and the cashier (a girl with glasses) was kind and helpful. Just one thing: it is said that it closes at 11 pm here and yesterday that I came at 10:30 pm, I wasn’t allow to enter (there were still people there, but no one else was allowed to enter)

Not much to say, it's a store like all other stores.You can find pretty much anything you desire.The only odd things are that they lock an entrance after 8 pm and apple pay doesn't work.

The store was very clean. Excellent selection of fruit and vegetables (especially tomatoes). Fried chicken sandwich was hot and tasted good. To my delight surprise, cooked crayfish was offered at very reasonable prices in a big tub. It's fresh and tastes good.

I work a block away from this location. There’s always a long line to check out here. 7am, there’s a line because just one register is open. Lunch break, there’s a line to check out. After work is probably the worst. They need to properly staff this location.

Used to love Rouses but found the quality of the prepared foods had fallen off recently. Hopefully it'll get better soon. Tried to order a sandwich and stood there for several minutes before one of the many people working behind the sandwich counter bothered to tell me it didn't open for another 15 minutes. No signs posted anywhere.

Convenient location in the central business district. Good selection and hot counter. If you are cooking where you are staying there are great choices of meats on discount (ie chicken wings for under $4). They sell a box of fried chicken, enough for a family of 4 for $7. Other items more than what you would pay at Winn Dixie but again location is an easy walk from most Airbnb's or hotels.
