Amazing shopping experience. Locally owned pet shop. He called is by our names. My husband and I reminisced about the experience while driving home.I purchased 3 hamsters. 2 cages plus bedding and food. I was given necessary knowledge to care for our newest pets.

Cool local pet shop, with a neat assortment of tropical fish, that were well maintained. I recommend. Great fish food selection!

Open later than anybody else! Great shop with a wide variety of dog foods. Love the fish! We got 2 fish and 2 snails for around $15. Not bad! They said the used to have a lot more tanks and fish but had to scale back because of covid. Maybe they'll get more fish soon! Owner seems very knowledgeable about them.

The friendly staff at Coral Reef has always been very helpful over the phone & in person about all my aquarium questions. They even cleaned my pump when I brought it in because it had stopped working. Great service & prices, also they have dog & cat food. I'm happy to support this local neighborhood store!

This local, family run business is our go to place for cat supplies. If they don't carry a product, they can often order it. Their prices are fair and comparable to the "warehouse" pet supply vendors.They also have fish and whenever I decide to restock my pond I buy fish here. (Unfortunately, the water birds from Bayou St. John enjoy the fish as much as I do.)

My husband and I brought my toy poodle puppy for his first grooming today. He is 4 months old. When we dropped our baby off, we specifically told the groomer that we wanted him with a puppy cut. She said ok. Weeks prior we were told that a puppy cut would be 40 bucks. So when we went to pick him, we were told that his “dog cut” would be 75 dollars. We asked why the price increased to so much. The cashier told us because he had to get his mats combed out. When we received our puppy back, he was completely shaved and EXTREMELY traumatized. He had cuts all over his body. Even his eyeball had a slash. We brought these issues up with the groomer and she had the nastiest attitude imaginable. She told us that we had not socialized our puppy and he was only used to us. Mind you, we have 4 kids and a large family, and our baby is a very friendly pup. She told us that we never blowed dried him, which is a outright lie, because I have personally done so on multiple occasions. She told us that she doesn’t groom dogs this young. And I replied to her, “Well, why did you do it? We would have gladly came picked him up, our house is 3 minutes away from the shop.”In conclusion, she took not accountability for her actions. And was as mean and rude as they come. I definitely would not recommend their grooming services. She is a horrible lady and does not deserve to be in the company of y’all’s fur babies.

We love this gem of a store in Lakeview. Ever since my daughter rescued a little tree frog, we've been loyal customers to get his food and home options. They're the nicest people. Locally owned and so warm and welcoming.

We have been purchasing cat food here for years. I'm so happy to support a small local business because the service is always excellent and the guys seem to really care about my pets. They have reward programs for frequent purchasers. I highly recommend stopping in for any of your pet needs.

The only pet shop in town I feel comfortable buying feeder mice from.The chain stores are overpriced and always smell like the mice aren't clean.This place is clean, wel organized and reasonably priced. The staff all are very friendly too.

Corral Reef will close by year end. Money is TIGHT at this place and I fear they cannot make rent. Today I went to pick up one can of wet food to hold me over until my large supply of food comes in. The owner yelled at me for buying one item with a credit card because he “ won’t make any money on the item” THEN got even more upset when he saw it was an AMEX. They clearly need to raise prices so they can pay their bills.

The guy that helped me was very friendly, courteous and just had a great attitude in general. I tried the froyo he recommended for my pup and he absolutely loved it! I will def be back here to shop with my local small business owners.

This is not the pet shop to go to for fish or pets of any kind. An incredibly tiny selection of fish. The name Coral Reef is an extremely bad name for this shop.

I love coral reef, I go there at least once a week. They have a more advance fish selection than Petco and very unpredictable. I went in one day and saw the common beginner fish such as guppies, neon tetras, ect.; and on other days seen boesoni and turquoise rainbow fish as well as clown loach and even some exotic angelfish. Whenever I'm in there I have to get a new fish or plant. There prices will keep you coming back. The only thing I wish they would do better is have a larger plant selection. Don't get me wrong they have some great plants from Amazon sword to anacharis, and there employees are very friendly. I can go in there and have a casual conversation with anyone in there. All in all if you are looking for anything from fish, dogs, or even reptiles, I would definitely stop down to coral reef.

Hands down best place to buy anything pet related in the New Orleans metro area. You will always find friendly, knowledgeable employees there. As a significant side note, they ALWAYS keep food prices surprisingly competitive with Petco/Petsmart to provide their customers with not only extraordinary convenience, but great prices. The groomer is fantastic, as she grooms our dog at least once a month flawlessly. I you are traveling to Petsmart/Petco and dealing with their horrific service, make the switch, trust me.

For an aquarium shop, there are no salt water related fish, invertebrates or corals here. Employee stated stopped stocking since Katrina. There is a small selection of fresh water fish available.

This place should not have the name coral reef. Due to they have nothing in the store for saltwater aquariums. I drove 1 hour to see what they had for saltwater aquariums to find out they only had a few freshwater fish.The rest of the store was for cats,dog, and birds.

Told us in the phone he had a large selection of Koi. When we got there, he had only one holding tank and it was mostly filled with other types of fish.

I hated it should not have the name coral reef if you do not stock anything related to a salt water aquarium drove 3 hours to see what the coral reef selection looked like to be informed they do not stock salt water fish

Name of the store is " Coral Reef " yet has no salt water fish, coral, or products. Owner stated that they done away with saltwater over 10 years ago..
