They shaved my dog without my permission!!! This is our second visit. "The groomer discussed with you" they say, no apologies, no empathy, nothing. I literally said that's not my dog when she was brought out after I paid. My daughter cried when she saw her.  At no point was I told that she will be SAHVED to the skin. Not even a warming of any kind that "she might look different", "it will be more than a trim" just look at the before and after photo. "Her undercoat is matted, I will do what I can" that was the "discussion" with the groomer. If that discussion resulted in this, you really need to work on your communications. That aside, who would think that a groom for a FLUFFY dog would be to shave them down to the skin?? Does the groomer here not have the basic understanding that you should not shave a dog's undercoat??! Oh by the way, after the first visit - they said they brushed her out really well and we kept up with the brushing afterwards. So do they just say all long hair dogs are matted?Looking at the reviews of various other shaved dogs, I realized that this might not be a separate incident. So everyone please beware. Oh, they also moved the appointment and promised coupons for the inconveniences, which we did not receive any. Not that it matters, never coming back.

I popped by The Dog Stop about two weeks ago searching for a supplement for my little dog's bones and joints after her doctor recommended it after having three knee surgeries. I asked the manager, Laura, for her assistance, and she was quick and eager to assist me and my little dog's needs. After a few weeks of taking the supplement once a day and a few rounds of physical therapy, my dog is beginning to move around like her old (and younger) self! Laura's knowledge was impressive, and it turns out she also spent several years in emergency animal medicine too prior to the job! I definitely feel safe leaving my little girl in the hands of her and all of the employees at The Dog Stop after knowing this too! Everyone is extremely pleasant, and truly loves caring for the customers and respects the needs and care of every dog that walks through their door. 17/10 for me!

I have used day care one time and boarding one time. Both experiences were great. The place was extremely clean and there were a lot of staff on hand to handle all the dogs. This was my dog's first experience with boarding and we were all pretty nervous - I loved being able to check in with the cameras while we were traveling and I could tell his tail was wagging all day. (A big deal for him - my dog is often shy or skittish, so a visibly wagging tail was a huge relief to see.) There is always at least one person with the dogs at all times.

We have been using this place for boarding for about two years now and have had overall good experiences. It’s on the expensive side for the luxury suite for two dogs, but worth it because there’s 24 hr camera footage for your viewing pleasure. I am a very meticulous dog mom to a chi and a golden doodle; so I’m very picky on who keeps my babies. This place meets the mark. Although we have had hiccups over minor issues here and there, they go above and beyond to resolve all issues. I only have to speak on something once and it is taken care of almost immediately. They make sure to give my babies medicine on time and follow every single one of my 5000 directions. They keep me informed and even answer and return calls for me after hours. The kennel workers are amazing as well and knew my babies name by heart as soon as we walked in. I didn’t even know who they were but it felt good that they knew my babies. They allowed me to go to the kennels to see where they would be and that was everything! I just feel like they truly care about my babies when they’re there because they take great care of them and are very patient with them. I also would like to personally mention Laura- the GM. I have worked very closely with her over the last year with boarding my dogs and she is a true gem. She is patient, sweet, kind, and caring. She even gave me her personal cell number just to have for any questions or concerns. Laura is the reason I returned to this location for boarding this year. Last year, She went out of her way to take accountability, resolve my issue, and make things right. I have since then boarded my dogs and all was well! I will continue using them for all of my boarding needs because it truly feels like my babies home away from home!

We leave our girl here once a week and it works wonders to get her energy out. They have puppy cams so you can see your baby whenever you want which is nice to check in every so often. The dog stop Metairie management is also very responsive and will reach out to the surveys taken to follow up on any issues that can be addressed. Also their enrichment activities are usually very cute and fun we got a Christmas ornament with our dog’s paw on it and we loved it.

We have used The Dog Stop in Metairie several times over the past few months for multiple day/night boarding. The last two times, we experienced different issues with staff and communication. We won’t be using this facility moving forward. I don’t expect our dogs to go 14.5 hours on a weekend holding their bodily fluids because staff is not scheduled to be on site to rotate the dogs to go potty. I spoke to Ms. Krake, the owner and she admitted this to me. In my opinion, that is inhumane!!! After hearing this from the owner, my animals will NOT be going back to her facility. I hope more dog parents know this about this place!!! And to think there is second facility opened by the same owners is absurd.

The Dog Stop Metairie is amazing! I bring my dogs here for grooming, and this is the only place I’ll ever trust to keep my dogs when I go out of town. The staff is amazing and they treat your pets like members of their own family. I can’t recommend them enough!

I have been going to this place for years, and this lady at the front who says she is the “general manager” named Laura who is very RUDE AND CONDESCENDING. She is constantly messing up my appointments and cancelling on me LAST MINUTE. I will never go here again till LAURA is gone. MULTIPLE TIMES I have gotten my dog back soaking wet and they do not dry him! They rush through the services and seem to do a horrible job at cleaning. I have never had problems till she “became manager”

My Cairo has been going to the Dog Stop for three years since he was a puppy. He loves Daycare times and I love the luxury suites boarding for him when I’m out of town. I am always confident that he will be well taken care of by the wonderful team at Dog Stop.

Belle is thrilled to go to ‘school’ every morning and she is just as happy when I pick her up every afternoon. When Belle is boarded at TDS, I feel safe that she is in the best place possible. I can even see her on a camera in her suite! Lisa, Abby, and the rest of the staff treat Belle like she is a part of their family.  I strongly recommend The Dog Stop Metairie for Daycare and Boarding!

I scheduled an appointment a week ahead to get my dog groomed. (Also note last time I brought her in to get trimmed it was like nothing was trimmed and it was like she hadn’t gotten cut but the person I spoke with told me she would note that for next time)I was texted a couple days before the appointment and told I had to move my appointment to the following day at 830 in order to let my dog dry before the cut. I’ve always dropped her off at 11 so I ask if that was new but was then just offered another appointment two weeks afterwards if I wanted to drop her off at 11. I hadn’t responded and the day before the appointment I was sent a confirmation text for my appointment at 11 that day. I text back asking if that was a mistake since I was told I could only bring her in at 830. They responded “ you can bring her in at 830 if you’d like but her appointment if for 11 “.I bring her in at 11 and was then told I missed my appointment that was for 830 and would have to reschedule. The other girl at the desk then says she told I could come in but that was a miscommunication and she was unaware I had to come in at 830 and would have to reschedule. I asked if I could at least get an earlier appointment since I waited for this appointment and was still offered an appointment a little less than 2 weeks out. I was offered a free nail grind for my inconvenience.Very dissapointed, I wasted my time and now I have to wait to get another appointment somewhere else. Will not be returning

Now I am sitting in parking lot with no plans on zgetting my dog boarded for the day, and have to be at work. I do not like this process at all. Very unprofessional. Not happy

first time going here and let me tell you this was the best experience I’ve ever had boarding my dog they have an excellent team there the facility smells good and is very clean Laura was one of the main reasons that I will recommend going here she’s so helpful and provides excellent customer service when she told me about her veterinary back ground I actually learned some really good information about certain supplements and what to look out for so I can keep my fur baby in good health

First and last time here. I am not even angry, I am just horrified and sad that my dog looks like this. We usually go to Pet Smart and they do an amazing job. My mom brought our pup Rosco here since they were booked. Rosco is a Shetland Sheepdog with a beautiful double coat that receives compliments all the time! My mom does not speak much English and she told them to "cut it short." Given that, as a professional dog grooming salon they should have the knowledge that dogs with a double coat should NEVER be shaven down that far. Some parts you can see his skin! My mom has brought Rosco to Pet Smart and told them to "cut it short" and they do not shave him down. My labradoodle has never been left with anyone but family. She will be boarded at the Dog Stop for 10 days for our family vacation. I brought her to daycare to get her used to The Dog Stop and staff. The Dog Stop is very clean and well kept. The staff is friendly, knowledgeable and professional. They successfully answered all of my questions and concerns. I love that I can watch her playing on the live cameras. After just 2 days in daycare, she loves it! I would definitely recommend The Dog Stop to anyone.

The Dog Stop is a great place for our girl, as she's more cat dog than regular dog. They took great care of her while we were away for two weeks and I could tell she was well taken care of. Excellent staff. Boarding her again which says it all.

So we have been coming to dog stop for about 7 months. Today is our last visit. Im so sad about our pups shaved cut.I was aware of mats on his ears , head and chest. Was not aware he would be getting shaved completely from head to tail well half tail…. My baby is a golden doodle not sure what he looks like now. Im very disappointed and sad.

We sent our 5 month old puppy to the Dog Stop daycare in Metairie for the day to see how he would do since we plan to eventually board him there. The staff was very welcoming and explained everything very well about how their program works. Our puppy is a little fearful of new people and places, but he did really well there. The staff is very knowledgeable about dogs and how to handle them, so he warmed up to everyone very quickly and had a blast. And I absolutely love that they have cameras there that you can check in on them. Since this was our first time using any kind of daycare, we were also a little nervous. It was nice to be able to check in on him and see him having fun. Overall it was a great experience, and we look forward to boarding him there.

The only place I will take my dog, Marley. The staff is awesome. They always greet Marley by name when we go in and she has only boarded there 3 times. The facility is nice and clean. All the pets seem to be happy. Marley goes in now and does not look back and give us those "puppy" eyes like she did the first time. 🤣 She knows she's in good hands and her human family will be back to get her.
