They were wonderful when we had to take Penney, my 5 year old dachshund because of back issues. She couldn’t walk and needed surgery. I am forever grateful for Dr Lang and staff. They took such good care of her and updated me throughout her stay. I even received a picture before surgery. She is doing great now and seems to be back to her old self.

The prices are high but the service, staff and overall piece of mind that your pet is in the absolute best hands is unmatched. They saved my dog at age 6. Now we have returned at age 10 simply because they provide the best service and care. You will have all your questions answers via phone calls, transfers to speak to the right person, returned calls, or in person visits.I am grateful to know that when I need the best- they are there.

I rushed my dog Cow into MedVet, as her eye was bulging out of its socket. We had no clue what happened. As soon as we got in, we gave our info and were seen in a timely manner. She ended up needing surgery that they performed same day. Dr. Fincher was truly great and caring. Cow is just resting at home now. Lots of medications, recovery/rest, a follow up with her regular vet, and an ophthalmology appointment going on, but still so glad they were able to take care of my baby!

Thank you so much to the staff at MedVet especially our Vet Missy Jackson! Although my baby is in pet heaven now, the staff showed my family so much care, compassion, and empathy throughout the entire process; especially when setting up her funeral arrangements. Also thank you for the personal card mailed to our house as well! I’m so grateful my babygirl Mara was in the best care even in her afterlife. Thank you again MedVet! Love, the Gomez-Clark Family ❤️👼🏽🐕🐾

I absolutely love Medvet. They are definitely hands down the best around. My baby Lil Girl has been seen on multiple occasions within the last few weeks even hospitalized. They took great care of her. When I was told that I should put her down by a different vet at another place ..I went to Medvet where I knew I would get an honest answer and here we are today trying to recover from pneumonia and figure out ways to help her with constipation. Thank you to Dr. Jenkins and Dr. McAtee and staff.

I'm truly impressed with the exceptional service provided by the team at MedVet!!. Dr. McDonald, Brian, and the front desk staff displayed remarkable energy and professionalism, even during late hours. When I brought in my elderly dog with a neck wound, they made what could have been a stressful ordeal into a seamless experience. Their kindness towards both my pet and me was truly touching. Communication was transparent throughout, and they were upfront about pricing, which i also found to be very reasonable. I feel at ease now knowing that we have such a wonderful 24/7 ER vet in the area (:

Very unhelpful with follow up care after my cat nearly died. They said he needed to be on a prescription diet FOR LIFE, but they refuse to refill the prescription diet. They were also extremely uncommunicative while he was there never returning phone calls or calling to update me as promised to the point I finally picked him up earlier than planned due to constantly worrying he was DEAD.

I can not thank MedVet New Orleans enough for everything they have done for my dog Flynn while he was in the ICU this past week.Flynn’s critical care doctors, Dr. Alan Ralph, Dr. Jennifer Daly, and Dr. Erin Daniels were so quick to treat him and are the reason that Flynn made it through this. His surgeon, Dr. Cody Doyle took excellent care of him to surgically fix the leak in his bladder. And his initial ER doctor, Dr. Julia Fincher (if I am remembering correctly) was quick to get him the treatment needed to get him through his first night. I can not thank all of his doctors enough. They always answered all of my questions and spent hours communicating with me throughout the week and never made me feel rushed or unheard. And I can’t overemphasize how amazing his nurse/technician Morgan was for his entire stay. She put on movies (Ratatouille for one example ) for him during his dialysis treatments and made doggy charcuterie boards for him when we were trying to get him to eat. Morgan went above and beyond to make sure my boy was as comfortable as possible.I am horrible at names, but every single receptionist, technician, and tech assistant was so kind and compassionate toward Flynn and me. They stopped in our room to show me pictures of him and give him lots of belly rubs.We are from Alexandria, so I, unfortunately could not be there with Flynn for the entirety of his stay. But I never doubted that he was getting the absolute best care and could not have been more comfortable leaving him with MedVet New Orleans. The best part was when their whole team lined up and cheered Flynn on as he was discharged and walking out of the building (see video) . Their teamwork and comprehensive care are the only reasons that Flynny Boy is home and snuggled next to me right now. I can’t say it enough, thank y’all again for everything💗

I would recommend MedVet to anyone! I came in with my dog a few weeks ago and immediately was seen. The front desk staff, vet assistants and Dr. Fincher were amazing. They kept me informed the whole time on what was going on with my dog. From the first phone call, I was met with professionalism and compassion. Dr. Fincher even called me when I got home and checked on my dog and I. Thanks again for everything!

Took my dog on Sunday after hours. Dr. McDonald was amazing. Staff was polite and caring. Price was high but you can not put a price on the care and quality.

I want to thank everyone who took care of my baby Irina. She sadly passed away this evening, but i believe they did everything they could for her. She was seen quickly when i brought her in, and I was kept appraised about everything that was going on. The Vets/Nurses who talked to me in person and on the phone were compassionate and kind while explaining her situation. While i sadly wasn't able to be there in time before Irina passed, I believe she was surrounded by lovely people who made it as comfortable as possible.

Medvet was great for a late night stitches job. They were compassionate and understanding for my dog who doesn’t like strangers. They gave her treats and had me involved to keep her calm! Highly recommend!

While I’m grateful for the hard work of the vets & vet techs at MedVet, their pricing is unbelievably (and prohibitively, in some cases) high. There are other ER & critical care vets in the city who can provide comparable quality of care for half as much. When my diabetic cat was admitted for pancreatitis and a DKA, they let him sit for almost 16 hours without eating. I had told them he was refusing food and I had been syringe feeding at home. Rather than syringe feed (which they don’t do at MedVet, but will do at other vet hospitals) or give him an appetite stimulant, they just let him go without food, which is extremely dangerous for diabetics, and especially pets in DKA who need food to help flush out ketones. Once I encouraged them to give him an appetite stimulant in the morning, he was eating enthusiastically on his own within a few hours. I can’t help but feel his condition may have improved more quickly had he been given this medication when he was first admitted. Ultimately after three days at MedVet he was declining, so I chose to transfer him to another hospital where he has been treated successfully for a similar condition before. The techs and vets I spoke with were for the most part helpful and friendly, and I do believe they genuinely care for their patients, but prolonged hospitalization at $1000+ a night is not accessible to most people. I would recommend shopping around if you have a critical care pet who needs longer term ER treatment. There are other options that may give you more room to breathe / more options for your pet’s ongoing care.

I want to thank Dr. Daily and her staff for everything they done in the short amount of time that they cared and loved my sweet Cami Leigh. Dr. Daily and her staff carefully and respectfully explained treatment and future plans from start to finish on what needed to be done and what she thought was wrong with my furbaby. (Which she ended up being correct). Her and her assistants tried their best and did everything they could to help Cami. When my father and I went to pick up my baby and bring her home to her final resting place (I forgot the night nurse's name). I was in a brain fog of heartbreak, but he was fantastic and spoke so softly and reassured me with every decision I made was ok. I commend the staff at MedVet for the whole team Cami had for her last few hours of her life. With all my heart, thank you all so much. 💓 Kimberly ArceneauxHere is a picture of my babygirl. Because she always left an imprint on everyone's heart. 🐾

My pup Booker was diagnosed with cancer 3 years ago, and everyone (without exception) has been so kind to him at MedVet New Orleans, every step of the way. The entire staff from receptionists to techs to doctors has made this incredibly stressful experience easier. They make me feel like Booker is as well cared for as their own pets. Booker is doing great 3 years out!

The staff and doctors are professional and caring. They accomplished in one 2-hour visit what might have taken multiple visits over weeks. An great experience.

Every Veterinarian, nurse, Vet-tech and staff member demonstrated professionalism! We were given a 50% chance of our dog surviving emergency surgery, a 50% chance of surviving severe sepsis (severe infection), and a 50% chance of surviving the next 24/48 hours post-surgery.A seven pound mass was removed from our dog's abdomen and we still didn't know if the mass was cancerous.Marmaduke beat all of the odds, thanks to a lot of prayer and this wonderful team of Board-Certified Emergency Veterinarians, a Surgery Specialist, the Critical Care Staff, and a Internal Medicine Veterinarian. The mass on our dog's spleen ended up NOT being cancer! It has been 18-days since his surgery and Marmaduke is doing great! He has a new lease on life thanks to prayer and this wonderful medical team!Marmaduke loves the Veterinarians and staff at this facility and gives them FIVE PAWS of approval! They saved his life!

Last night, my dog was having trouble breathing normally. I immediately took him to MedVet. Everyone I interacted with was incredibly kind and patient, and I feel that he was treated very well. While I don’t have all of my answers yet, anything that could be done was done in a timely manner. I would 100% go to MedVet again. Thank you for caring for my baby.

My dog was well taken care of and ultimately that's what matters. I had a a frustrating time trying to take my dog home earlier than recommended due to a lack of communication between the daytime and nighttime staff. I received very minimal instructions upon discharge and did not get any paperwork until the next afternoon. I was required to put down a large deposit, but my dog's bill was less than half of what was estimated. I now have to pay back my credit card company the full amount when the services I received didn't cost nearly that much. It was fine for an emergency situation, but the customer service just wasn't great.

You can't make an appointment, or get refills, without leaving a voicemail and waiting 1-2 days for them to return your call. I've waited 20-30 minutes each visit during check out... once you are done with your visit, you have to sit in the waiting room for about half an hour until they are call you up with a total. They also won't refill medications that are already working well without multiple "check ups". I understand the need to make sure a medication is working properly, but it becomes a money grab when you are asking for a 15-yr old cat to be repeatedly checked by a cardiologist (at $600/visit), when there is little change or updates. The staff is kind, and they got the job done, otherwise I would have rated them lower. Its not an efficient place, and its obviously under a lot of chain-corporate-company pressure to squeeze out money out of people.

Super great experience on a Friday night when we weren’t sure what was wrong with our dog. Everyone was friendly and compassionate to her anxiety. She was more relaxed than she usually is in a medical setting and that is a testament to their professionalism. I also love how the visit is good for 72 hours so we can monitor her and come back if needed. Hope we don’t have any more issues but if we do I would always come back to this facility!

I had one puppy that passed away on the way to Medvet. When I got there, they gently removed my baby from my vehicle and put us in a room to spend time for saying goodbye. Beautiful room! Then I had one of my babies that had to be put to sleep. The care, concern, and compassion all the employees showed was unbelievable. We were put in the same room as my prior baby and when we were ready to say goodbye, we pressed a button & the Vet came in and proceeded. I believe her name was Dr Brook. She was such a sweet compassionate person. If you do not go to Medvet you surely are missing out on the kindness that you do not find anymore or anywhere. Once again thank you!Poret family

Such a wonderful place to take care of our pets. I had to travel ( 4 times ❤️ ) to bring our beloved Leah to doctor Alan Ralph and his crew and I have no regrets! Doctor Ralph is such a knowledgeable and compassionate doctor! Amazing human being! We could feel the LOVE, respect, care and compassion from the entrance to the rooms. All nurses from critical care are so loving caring! THANK YOU all of you! For everything y’all did and still do for my Leah! She would not be alive now if would not be doctor Ralph and each one of you! My eternal gratitude 🙏🏼 💓 From the Santos Family.

In early July my dad's morkie was coughing, vomiting, peeing herself, and breathing rapidly, and by Sunday it seemed to be getting worse and I didn't want to wait until Monday, so brought her to MedVet. She's almost 14 years old and has multiple health conditions, and they warned me that even if I spent the $3,000+ to hospitalize her she still may not make it. I wasn't ready to give up on her and told them that as long as she isn't suffering to please do what they can. They determined she had heart failure and put her in the CCU on oxygen (which for dogs is in a tank) and gave her furosemide, and some type of meds to keep her comfortable. She started to get better and came home a few days later with an appointment to see the cardiologist soon. They have specialists like cardiologists on staff, but some of the follow-up I can have done at her regular vet to save money. I don't know how much longer she will be with us, but MedVet definitely gave her some more time to feel better and be spoiled and loved before she goes over the rainbow bridge. I wish I could take my dad to MedVet next time he needs to be hospitalized because Mitzi was treated like royalty!

Our girl was diagnosed with Histiocytic Sarcoma, and we could not be happier with the care we have received from MedVet ever since we received that heart wrenching news. Dr. Lyles, the surgeon, and staff have all been so compassionate throughout the entire process. We could not be more grateful for all they have done for our precious baby girl.

Back in October 2022, I was traveling from Orlando with my pup when she was attacked by a larger dog at a campground in Texas. One expensive emergency vet visit later, we had a 15+ drive home to handle along with the trauma of the attack and not knowing the true extent of her injuries (luckily it ended up that no organs were punctured, but we did not know this for sure at the time). Arriving at MedVet NOLA, I only needed her wound cleaned, packed, and bandaged as we traveled through to get home to Orlando for evaluation and surgery. As someone who has never had a pet attacked before, I was fully in my trauma and I was still a WRECK.The emergency vet in Texas left much to be desired by way of bedside manner, but I cannot say enough wonderful things about the staff and doctors at MedVet in NOLA. They treated me with empathy and compassion, and made sure my dog had what she needed. They only charged me for the cost of bandaging, and checked in with me to make sure I had an appointment set up with my home vet the next day because of the concerning wound she had.Wanted to update y’all four and a half months later, my babe is fully healed and needed to come back to write a review. You don’t understand how much I needed the calming atmosphere y’all provided. It truly was and is appreciated.

Absolutely wonderful. Courtney answered the phone and was polite and reassuring. Due to covid 19 no one is allowed inside with their pet so we parked in the front of the building (service rd) and then Nick the vet tech met us outside at the car to assess my friends dog. Nick brought Lunch Box inside and the staff were available consistently by phone. The Dr. Called within minutes and although the news was bad (she expected it) it was still extremely sad. The staff is making Lunch Box comfortable so another family member can be here to say goodbye. They are letting 2 people go inside with protective covid 19 mask so that they can be with her dog when she has to say goodbye. The staff also informed us of the very nice cremation package that they offer and keepsakes. I recommend to anyone with animal health emergencies to bring them here. They are a highly trained office with the latest in equipment for all your animal emergencies. They are open 24 hours a day 7 days a week
