The staff is friendly. They have good sales regularly. I have had several birthday cakes made here and they are great. The produce quality has improved. I like to support them over big chains.

Great to have a convenient, reliablequality grocery store so close to home! The only issue I have is availability of sale items (which bring me in) is often scarce. Feel that a reincheck would be nice. I visit 2-3 × weekly.

The managers are always so nice and helpful! They always go above and beyond for the customers. Our autistic son, who is 10, has true milk and soy allergies. Mr. Robert went out his way to get ice cream in that he could eat :) My car wouldn't start one day, and the managers came out and did everything they knew to get it to start for me ! My daughter, who is 8, says she has become friends with many of the school-age girl employees. Lol, they almost all know her by name! I have been shopping here for 10 years now and even tho I can't really afford it I would rather spend my money here than shop at Walmart. Ty Carters (Cains) for being the bigger part of a community !

If you are stuck at the DMV or passing on the interstate... defiantly go here. I walked in and was really surprised how nice and clean everything looks. I was waiting at the dmv and didn't want any fast food. The ladies were putting out fresh lunch stuff at about 10:30 and it was so delious. The sushi guy was making up a bunch of fresh rolls with generous servings and I was greeted with big smiles and pleasant conversation by the whole deli. I will be here next time i have to deal with the DMV again.

We were traveling and needed to stop for groceries. What a pleasant surprise. This has the look and feel of a small boutique grocery store. It was actually fun to look around and see what they had. Even has a small Deli with a seating area.

There may not be a ton of selection like a bigger supermarket would have but it’s quick, convenient, and the people are friendly. They have a few unique products that are hard to find elsewhere so it’s definitely worth a look.

Worst customer service at this location. 3 girls chatting and 2 of them were "working." A customer had left her basket on the line and left to get other items. The chatting continued until the 3rd girl left and the customer returned. 2nd cashier COULD have checked me out but chose to wait until other customers arrived. No apology, no comment about the wait. The other locations wouldn't have tolerated this. I'll still occasionally shop at Carter's, just not the Livingston location.

Generally, I will give Carter five stars. However, I just recently purchased and pork strips from the Livingston branch. The meat had a bad smell and tasted nasty. Evidently it was old meat repackaged, be cautious and buying their pork, I also bought drumlets which I have not opened yet and smelled. I just stuck them in the freezer. We'll find out when we open them

Rants or Rave? ...How You can support small business? No like this ,today I was trying to support the only grosery store in town and I got disappointed. 1- like 11 to 15 employees no one tell me Good morning, I did . 2 - I was hear Here about The Fish Is The Best to lunch in town,on Friday ,but Was 9:54 am and they Denied the Service of me to buy because they wanted display everything for a picture? They ask me to Wait? I not Get Paid for my time right? They priority is Sale all the Food to make money? 3- When You shopping in small business the Prices are High ,so You try to Got the weekly sales . Well cheese was in Sale at $3.99 but scanning $4.48 ,I indicated to the cashier walking with Her Showing and She Still tell me is not in Sale ( label there) She Tell other Employee and I walk again to show her still said ok give her at $3.99 .is Not Give to me is there the Sale tag. Well 4- I'm make sure she scanning all my stuff, she no was scanning the dish soap ,I indicated and She still tell me she did it (twice) when She Give me the resive is Not was scanning .in that moment passed next the manager? And ask me How I was Doing well i respond Desapointe ,I tell Him the situation and I tell Him I not Stole nothing but she was not wanted scanning the Product And she Know I was Right. Business struggles to keep the Door Open with this economic,but With This Customer service is better Go to big store and scanning my own products. Remember if You Own Business Be kind, respectful and Smile, that make customers back!

Love the deli, salad bar and surprisingly the sushi here. I wasnt shopping for flowers but very cute flower arrangements for gifts, I had to get one for a hostess gift for a christmas party. Very nice.

Clean. Great hometown grocer. Great quality meat. Hate them closing at 8 tho. That additional hour was helpful. I'd say the special meat marked downs are put in that section after they've already gone bad. 🤮#1 Request : PLZ order brides cake Bluebell in bigger container. ;)

Pros: decent selection, items usually in stock, very clean, checkout girls are friendly. The in-house sushi guy at the deli does great work, and is the friendliest person you'll ever meet. Cons: Produce quality is usually poor, often see bad fruit, meat prices are high, ground beef browns quickly after buying. Also seems like female job applicants get stuck in the deli instead of cashier spots if they dont look like a "Miss Teen USA" pageant contestant.

Friday Seafood hot bar is a must. Grab you a plate and take some home or eat it there. Excellent stuffed crab and jalapeño shrimp poppers wrapped in bacon.

Second edit: Bought a pack of cheese slices, got home and found they are covered in mold. Done with these absolute clowns. Hope you go under. The town of Livingston deserves better.Edit: DO NOT BUY MEAT HERE. I have given them multiple chances but I can't waste anymore of my money trying. Their meat is always one day away from expiring AT BEST. I have thrown multiple pounds of ground beef away that were rotten before the printed date. It is impossible to buy meat from here more than a day ahead of time because it is always turns rancid. Absolutely unacceptable when food prices are already so high. They are preying on a small community with no other local options. Don't support these leeches.

Travel the extra distance to Walker. The service is much better in Walker. The staff at this location is not the friendliest. And, I ordered a pizza and had to refuse it when I saw the staff with his finger in his nose. Very gross. Definitely makes me want to start cooking at home for every meal.

Carter's is conveniently located, clean, and well stocked. The employees are friendly and courteous as well as always readily helpful. They feature the "Shur-fresh" brands (hope I spelled it right) and are an AG or Associated Grocer group which for the most part I like. My only disappointment is that I find their prices are on the high side. I try to off set this by paying attention to sales. The Deli is good but again it's too high to frequent very often.
