We were traveling to New Orleans from Texas and saw a sign for Lea's Lunchroom that advertised homemade pie. We decided to stop for lunch. The waitress was very friendly and attentive. The sandwiches were good. The peach pie with ice cream was okay, but the cherry pie did not taste good at all. I could not even finish it. The filling was jelled in a way that was very strange. The building itself was quaint.

ABSOLUTELY AMAZINGLY GREAT FOOD!!!!FOOD PREPARED JUST LIKE MAW-MAW AND PAW-PAW COOK!THE HAM THAT IS SERVED IN THE PLATE LUNCHES...IS A MUST TRY!!!!!!I haven't tried any pies, yet...but it's next.Something else that's interesting: there's a sugary taste to the black-eyes, but I don't mind it. Delicious is DELICIOUS!The only thing I wish was different about this place is that they served larger portions of their meals! It is so good!Try it yourself! You will be overjoyed that you did. Just order more plates. Lol

Great pies, but overrated diner food, horrible service and unsanitary! The server forgot the coffee and drinks until the food arrived, and when told, she left the food unserved near the table, and ran to get the forgotten drinks, allowing the food to get cold. No refills if the drinks, not enough butter for the pancakes. When asked for a coffee to go, she said she would be right back, and never came backDo you keep your toilet brush in a handrail for the disabled? (Check out the picture) Poor taste and so nasty!

PIES! I only stop here to eat pies!Today’s pies (for lunch) are peach, apple and lemon meringue.Choco pie and grilled cheese are for my dining companion. If you’ve never been here before, this is an old school lunchroom: the only menu is the daily board posted in the middle of dining room.

This is a neat traditional Southern lunch diner. Their menu is small but perfect. We had the baked ham collard greens and baked sweet potato special which was extremely filling. We finished off with a piece of coconut cream pie which was perfectly done.

Friendly old school and I mean old school spot in a small town. You want a wide variety of foods? keep driving. This is throwback offers like 3-4 choices per day. Grilled Ham and toasted cheese and baked ham are regulars. Red beans and rice were another choice on this day.You want a burger? Nope not if it's not that days special....Honestly..... It's awesome. Vegetables and ham were very good. You want variety? Wait till desert probably 10 different pies.Coconut cream is a cross between coconut cream and meringue. Fruit pies look like pies made in 1950s. That's the charm. Mix berries pie was unusual and awesome. Ala mode yes please. 😏Only disappointment they didn't get me a refill on drink. Everything else was spot on.This place is like going back in time in a DeLorean.

Nice little place. Definitely has lots of historical character. Menu is short - ham sammies, short list of plate lunches, and pies of all kinds. Don't go in there looking for chicken fingers and fries or spaghetti or whatever. That's all there is. The menu is posted on a chalkboard in the restaurant, so call ahead if you want to know what the plate lunches are that day. Servers were friendly. Food was good - a little pricey but not outrageous. The pies were very very good. Yum!

Food was great ! Service was great ! Had the red beans and rice with pecan pie for dessert. Was a little disappointed because they didn't have the meringue for some or their famous pies but, stuff happens and everything else was great. Old fashioned feel, step back in time.

On my way back from new Orleans, had amazing food while there, but Lea's gets my five star review. Lea's Lunchroom provided me with a perfect lunch stop between destinations. The ham and cheese sandwich could win a gold medal and the pie is pretty darn close to grandma's.

My childhood is wrapped in their flakey, buttery crust. When I was a kid, we used to drive up to England Airforce Base and on the way back we'd always stop at Lea's. My father loved the pecan pie and I loved the ice cold glasses of milk. Today there are so many more pie flavors, but coconut is still my favorite! Come see why Lecompte is the Pie Capital of the World and enjoy the local downhome service at this iconic spot.

Not impressed with pies. My sister got a peach pie. When we got home we found that it had mold. Lunch meal was great as well as service.

Nice place to pick up lunch and hopefully pie, if they haven't run out! Small town atmosphere, well because it is a small town!

Have not been there in 25+ years, so was not certain about how they operate because there are no menus. My wife wanted a hamburger but they don't serve burgers,, at least not on Sunday. The waitress pointed to the board about plate lunch options but made no mention of other options, like fresh hot sandwiches. I had chicken courtonbleu, it was cold, not crispy, and it seemed to be a frozen item they reheat with very little cheese and ham stuffing. My wife had fried chicken, not crispy and was cold also. Only the vegetables sides were warm. The corn bread dressing was also very mediocre and cold also. Not a very friendly waitress either, did not really tell us what all our options were.

Nice little stop in what seemed like the middle of nowhere. Great pies, we tried Bumbleberry, coconut meringue, lemon meringue and cherry, they were all excellent.

A staple stop between north and south Louisiana. Stop for the pies and pictures. Sells cool coffee mugs / recipe books. It's pronounced like "Lee's" and "Le Count"

Best darn ham and cheese in the country! We stop here when it's open each time we pass through visiting family in souther LA. My grandfather new Lea personally and ate here daily for lunch from the 1940s until he sold his Alexandria business and retired. My dad as a result ate here all the time as well. Each time as a kid we drove through here he would make us eat here. Now I do so with my family driving through to visit family. And today, the food and service are still the same.
