Let me start by saying I am a regular customer at the Hammond location and usually receive excellent service by friendly employees which is why I am truly disappointed. I placed an order for pickup on 3/1/2024 and when I received the email that my order was ready I headed to the store. When I arrived around 10 am, I told the lady at the counter that I placed an order for pickup and got an email saying it was ready I showed her the email. She asked me my name so I told her. She then questioned me about what the order was as though I am trying to pick up an order that isn't mine after showing her the email with order number and giving her my name!! She finally gives me my order!! I did not appreciate basically the third degree over an order I paid for after clearly showing her the email from Petsmart saying my order is ready! I did return to the counter and show her my drivers license to prove I am who I said I was and this order did in fact belong to me! This woman is not the right fit for Petsmart!

Bought a Medium sized MALE rat from them for my first pet rat, assuming that it was MALE, and they confirmed it was MALE. A couple weeks later, turns out Terzo, my rat, is a Terzette.. And I had already bought two more male rats to go with her, and upon discovering that what was supposed to be a HE was a SHE, I had to go buy a completely new cage in order to house the two boys I bought. So, thanks, Petsmart. ♥ I know it's hard to tell the gender on rats sometimes, but I was so confused as to why Terzette was lacking her ratesticals.

I just bought three fish a week and a half ago. Now all three of those fish are dying and also another fish that I previously had is also sick. They are covered in ich. I’m hoping I can save them (I’m not a newbie when it comes to fish), but I’m pretty sure my older fish is done for. 😞

Mr. Tommy helped us find products for my dogs digestion issue. It really solved our issue. Angela did a wonderful job grooming our baby. Ralph. Lol 😆

Where do I start?!! Took our goldendoodle for a puppy cut he’s six months old. The associate that was helping me seemed uninterested in helping me. I was asking questions about lengths and cut and she didn’t care to answer my questions. The one who was actually performing the cut was annoyed and bothered that our dog kept moving. Had zero patience for him at all. I could see her threw the windows and I had to tell her to just stop and leave our dog the way he was. She kept grabbing his face and telling him stop like he knows what stop means. I will not be returning here again.

I recently brought my 4 year old German Shepherd to get groomed and it was the best experience ever. The young woman who groomed her hadn’t been there very long but she did an excellent job of making my nervous dog feel safe, comfortable and loved. I never post reviews on things so you have to understand I could not recommend Laci C at the Hammond PetSmart more to take care of and groom a dog. Will ask for her every time we need to bring our Sansa in to get groomed in the future. Thank you Laci!

They have great toys for pets. And most of them are priced real cheap. So cheap but well made, that I buy them for my two toddler granddaughters instead of for my pets!

Took 4 hours for a service that should only be an hour and half. Had to have locked my dog in a kennel for at least 2 hours. His haircut was sloppy and uneven, his nails were not cut well and were also uneven. Only cut half of his fur, but what they did cut was too short so he looks ridiculous. They don't give them potty breaks so my dog had an accident during his service, which has never been an issue. Dog was crying and running for the door the second we got him. Will definitely not be returning .

I held off on writing this review for awhile, but I cannot get this out of my head. I adopted a cat from here and they GAVE it to someone else who did not have my permission. They had my name and money, and that was it. Not only that, but this cat was sick, with wheezing and runny stools. When I went to talk to a manager, I was told that the animal's health was the responsibility of the SPCA, and that it was a "mistake" that this cat was just handed off to someone else. Unbelievable! Oh, and then they asked if I wanted to return the cat. Absolutely I do not want to return the cat, I want your staff to be more responsible in handling the welfare of these animals! Incredibly irresponsible. I will NEVER set foot in this store again. The only redeemable factor in this is that the lady at the register was extremely kind, and the second manager I spoke to was friendly and handled my complaint with more professionalism. At the very least, those two seemed to be concerned about the situation.**I also want to add, I spoke to the kind lady from the SPCA and was made aware of one of the health issues. I was suppose to handle it with her on a set date and time, but the PetSmart employees went and handed the cat off to someone who wasn't me, causing me to not be able to get the medication. The carelessness of the staff could have put this cat in serious danger. THAT is my complaint, and nothing else.

I walked in there to get fish…. Their tanks are disgusting and the fish were sick and dying or dead. It was sad and disgraceful how they treat those fish! Clearly nobody there knows anything about how to take proper care of fish . What a waste of money for poor fish to go on a journey just to die. I’ll never go there again

They hurt my dog. After picking her up from the groomer I noticed she had a limp and seemed as if she was in pain, I brought her to the vet to find out she had severe bruising along her spinal column as if she had been dropped on her back from the groomers table. I will NEVER bring one of my dogs there again, their prices are outrageous for what little care they show for animals left there

I like PetSmart more than PetCo. I shop here for my cat food / supplies. My last visit, store was in kind of a disarray. They were out of the only item I was looking for. I was kind of disappointed but bought a substitute. After my purchase I received an email to take a survey. I took the survey and answered honestly. Almost immediately the store manager reached out and offered to make my experience better. Top tier customer service and just for that they will earn 5 stars from me everytime. Despite my last experience, the store is usually pretty stocked and always clean and organized.

I took my dog to get groomed here two times now and had a negative experience on both occasions, unfortunately. This last time around, the groomers completely forgot to cut my dog's nails, and on top of that, disregarded my requests to remove excess hair on my dog's legs and ears. The haircut was very incomplete. The groomers never once asked me the kind/length of cut I was looking for, nor did they give me an approximate time for picking up my dog. I had to prompt both of these questions myself. I would not recommend this location to others

Absolutely Love this store. Staff was busy but I totally understood why. Love that this store only houses Male Guinea Pigs. My Baby Guinea Pig, I paid for was definitely worth it. My baby piggie named Prince is super sweet and very loveable but he doesn't do well with my husbands Male Big Guinea Pig named Fat Boy.

Wish they had more allergy friendly dog bones/chews. Never have any animals to look at, the cages are always empty. But the staff is very friendly and helpful, so I'll be going back
