I left this store in shock. The prices were so high, even higher than before the switch from "save-a-lot" to "main's market." It's cheaper to shop at albertson's or rouses if you can believe that (they're two of the higher grocery stores in hammond). The only affordable category of food at this store is meat, but I can't vouch for the quality of it being good or not.

The prices are expensive, yes. This I can accept. What I can not under any circumstance accept is rotten meat. On multiple occasions I have come to main's market to see rotten, moldy meat set out for customers to buy.Not in small amounts, either. Large displays of bacon *all* grey, rotten, or moldy.Sorry, but when you take home food to prepare for your family, and it's rotten and you have to change plans...that sucks.

The store is clean and the prices are reasonable. I'm on a budget and their sales help out so much. I'm all for saving. It's worth the trip . The employees are polite and helpful.

Went there and prices were almost double Walmart... ALOT of the meat was grey and freezer burnt. A couple pieces even had black spots that looked like mold.

4.6 rating. Great people. Love the service. Prices are mostly pretty good and frequently about the best around on some items. At least one of the freezers seems to be perpetually broken but the rest are good. Much better store than a couple years ago. Keep up the great work.

Every week they have different amazing deals! They are always updating their Facebook page with all of the deals that they have for the week or even for the day!! The ribeyes and tbones are always tender and other great selections of meats! You can not beat the deals!! Employees are always very friendly and are willing to help find products or give product info!! Love them since Mains got them!! Will always shop here first for deals!!

Crowed isles, unless is marketed for the weekly sale their everyday prices are actually high. Save more going to other chain stores. Don't really save that much and the cashiers aren't the friendliest.

Really wish y'all would post your store ads for Hammond online because I live 30 minutes away and I don't get to check out the sales before heading that way so I miss out going to the store cuz I don't know what y'all have weekly and really don't want to waste 30 minutes there and back and gas and not have something that I want

Decent grocery store. You need to hit it at the right time as they buy in bulk. So you can get featured meats especially cheap.

Bad the worst, outdated, register had trouble reading the barcodes . Cashier keep trying to get the barcodes on a case of water advised don't worry about it got it after several attempts. The the water was thrown into the basket and the water bottle falling out. Let's just say trying to check out with a outdated system bad . Ended up leaving the grocery there. Been awhile since I was there hoping the change would have been better was wrong. Will not return.

This store has a good atmosphere all around. Push carts are hard to come by . They don't have baskets in case you need to just get quick essentials. You have to buy your own grocery bags , or take your own . Reason why groceries are a little cheaper . They tend to only have one cashier open at times which make the wait frustrating . I do not know if they have restrooms. But if you want good prices , you will find them here at a good bargain . You bag your own groceries . The downside for cheap prices .

I love this store great variety cheapest prices in town this is the only store I shop at but there's one draw back after you pay for your groceries you have to walk over to the counter on the wall to bag ur own groceries but it's so worth it with all the money 💰 you save go check it out

Would have been better if the other employees were actually working and not in the back of the store talking. There was only one register opened and the line was all the way down the aisle before another employee came to help. Totally ridiculous.
