We are displaced due to Hurricane Laura, had to evacuate our home not livable. We have a pit/Rottweiler mix, our Vet in Sulphur La must’ve got hit to. No way to reach them. Our dog needed his monthly heart worm medicine and Hammond Animal Hospital helped us out tremendously,they were so kind and accommodating. I don’t know how long we will be here. Would like to express our heartfelt thankfulness for this Vet and all the business people we’ve met in Hammond. So kind friendly and helpful to us. God blessed us with this wonderful friend to take us in his home. The staff here are amazing and incredibly kind, from the sweet people at the front desk, vet techs, all the way to the veterinarians. They have saved my lab's life twice, once performing an intestinal obstruction surgery and once when she caught a virus and got severely dehydrated.They are the only place I feel comfortable boarding her overnight anywhere, such as when we're going on vacation or visiting family out of town. And she is a large dog over 50 pounds and highly energetic.Their prices are also the best I have found in this area and I would recommend them highly to anyone who loves their pet.

My wife and I are fortunate to have Hammond Animal Hospital in our city. This place used to care for our late senior cats and now is our go-to for care for our two kittens. The entire staff is wonderful, and the Doctor is very good about informing and educating us about our concerns, kitty health, and they even call us when it's time to update our little furbabies shots and meds. We truly love this place, and we love the care that they give to our little ones.

I had ran over a kitten on the highway. I stopped, picked her up, put her in my car & rushed to this facility. I was a total MESS!! When I carried her in I was crying uncontrollably and asking for help. A member of the staff looked at her for about 1-2 mins (no Doctor/vet saw her) & she said there was too much damage and the most humane thing to do was put her down. I agreed to do so. But while she was telling me that & I agreed, the cat passed away naturally right there. No injection had been prepared by the facility & they had not started any of the euthanization process. Then they billed me $50!!! FOR WHAT!?! I was only there for about 4-5mins & they did nothing. * I must say the staff member was very compassionate & professional.* However, being told I had to pay $50 when I went to leave with the cat (to bury her myself) was shocking! They literally just looked at her (no physical contact) and said there was nothing they could do. I was distraught so I didn’t refute the price & reluctantly paid the bill. But, I don’t believe charging $50 when no service was rendered is fair at all!!!

My cat ate a safety pin, and I was freaking out, more than a little. They were incredibly reassuring and helpful from the jump, and made sure I knew that Penelope would be okay. They told me all of my options, did not force any course of action on me, and performed necessary, and very informative tests. The veterinarians explained and helped me through understanding everything about my cats situation, and gave me well thought out guidance on what to do. The cat eventually passed the, thankfully closed safety pin on her own, which may not always happen, but I was quite lucky.They didn't recommend invasive, or expensive surgery, unless necessary which I thought was incredibly thoughtful and good of them.

I had originally called on Friday to schedule an appointment, I asked for an appointment on Tuesday and was given a slot at 10:30am and given an over all qoute got all of the annual vacations I wanted to get for my dog which came out to about $180. Expensive but manageable.Come Tuesday morning when I show up right on time, I'm told that no one actually scheduled my appointment but they would fit my dog in anyway. While I'm waiting for the appointment to conclude, I get a call from Dr.Davis and get an review of the appointment. I was told that my dog did well and I was given options for what Heart Worm medication I could go forward with only to be pitched all of the rather expensive monthly and biannually administered options off of their website. When I was asked about the heart worm medication my dog was on before, I confessed that I had adopted him from a rescue adgency that had been giving him Goat Dewormer that can be purchased at any tractor or farm supply store only to get a lecture over the phone about how dangerous that was even though I had never personally given him the heartworm medication as I've only had my dog for 2 months.At the end, I went to pick up my dog and I was given a bill for $240 when my original qoute was supposed to be around $180.I don't think I will be coming to this vet again due to inconsistent information about their products, price gouging, and unprofessionalism in the front office. I distinctly remember giving the receptionist my name, phone number, and dog's information over the phone, I still have the caller ID on my phone. I'm so upset, I cried in the parking lot because I really can't afford to be blind sided by extra charges like this.If you are lucky to be able to afford veterinary care like this then by all means come here if you like, I will not be coming here again simply because I cannot afford treatment like this especially when I'm going to receive surprise charges. No thank you.

They were horrible!!!! I boarded my pet there and they "treated him" for "problems" three times without consulting me, calling me, or texting me, but surely billing me each time. They gave him treatments without knowing if he had a been recently treated and put his safety at risk. Essentially all they did was pad the bill, treat him - I don't know if he ever even received the actual treatments, and then billed me without telling me he needed anything or was given anything. This was not an emergency situation, and they treated him without my knowledge. One of the "doctors" was a travel vet who didn't even work there regularly. Just know there are better options out there that won't pad your bill or give your pet drugs without your consent. I can't give them a lower rating or stress how much you should NOT take your pet here.

HORRIBLE absolutely horrible place to have your animals put down. They don’t use sedation first which is cruel and they don’t tell you either so you believe your animal is sedated then you have to watch them fight hard before they die. Such a traumatic experience having my beloved 13 year old pup put down and watch him fight his final moments. The staff was completely unprofessional stating “I’ve seen other dogs fight much harder yours is actually going down easy” as my boy writhed in agony. I’d give them less than 1 star if I could.

I had to put my lil buddy (Brody, a chichuahua) to sleep...the staff from the front end to the back we're very compassionate. They all even gave us a hug and lit a candle and had a nice lil sign posted for the public during the process. I'm definitely making this my vet of choice for all my pets from here on out! I'd give it 10 stars if I could!!!

Treated my baby I was so worried I was going to loose him but gave him arthritis medicine and found out his pain is from his tooth so hopefully it will just fall out its really loose I really don't want to put him under anistesh he has a bad heart but we will see

The staff is very compassionate, and my fur baby sasha can be very aggressive, so the staff got to know her slowly, the assistant sat on the floor and let sasha warm up to her, she made her mom and I very proud of her, she didn't snap at anybody, even the vet sat on the floor with her, and sasha loved her for that, they were very gentle with sasha, so my wife and I are very happy with them all, I would highly recommend this place to anybody, they get 2 thumbs up!
