Amazing Lazer guided knife sharpening service! I heard about it, but I was dumbstruck at how sharp it got my Leatherman.Biggest and nicest Ace Hardware store I've ever been in. Competitive prices and huge selections.Staff and service are outstanding. Very easy and spacious parking.

What a great place to go for your hardware needs. I was helped by Joshua and Paul during this visit. Both were courteous and cordial.This Ace is the first and only one in the area to be sharpening knives using the Resharp sharpening Laser system (as advertised on TV). Dave's had a 2 for 1 offer so I paid less than $4.00 per knife. Ace provided a free canvas knife carrier. I now have 10 knives ready for cutting the Xmas turkey and ham. The knives are sharper than I've had them in the past 10 years! This was on December 21, 2023.Dave you made my Xmas!

Lives up to the jingle, “Ace is the place with the helpful hardware man”I like that I can depend upon being greeted by someone who knows the whole store. While they may not be an expert in every department (I doubt anyone could), they know where things are. In areas they know they give good advice. When they don’t know, they don’t give you any Bovine Substance. Instead, they offer to get someone else who knows more about xyz, than they do. And lastly, they always seem to be giving you a $5 off coupon for your next purchase.

Very awesome customer service! The owner and the staff are super friendly, and the store is very well-kept! This is the difference between a local mom-and-pop store like this vs. the big chains, because local stores like this genuinely care about their customers and employees, while the big chains only care about pleasing the CEOs and stockholders. I'm definitely going to be a repeat Ace Hardware customer! I'd rate 10 stars if I could!

Don't go to Lowes or Home Depot when in Hammond. Go here and Dave will personally wait on you. He has a great selection that rivals big box stores.

Owner and staff friendly and helpful! Store is BIG and clean with a large selection of goods, even saw some Kayaks! Had an issue with a refrigerator water line hookup and Mr.Clement was very helpful..Beats the heck out of fighting with checkout lines at the larger stores and also helps a small business.Lastly I like that they stay open later than True Value who closes at 530 during the week. It's tough to find time to get there by 530 when I work until 5.

We had to run to grab a piece we needed for our RV and showed up to the store just before closing. There were 2 gentleman who eagerly approached us and asked if we needed help. They helped us find everything we needed and also did some problem solving with my husband on a faucet. Never did we feel rushed or like an inconvenience. They helped us with a smile on their faces and genuine conversation. So grateful to experience great customer service, it’s a hard thing to come by these days! We do regret not getting their names, but I hope they get an extra kudos for a great job!

One of my home's AC systems quit cooling on a Saturday in July. Basic troubleshooting/testing indicated the capacitor as a probable cause. A Google search turned up zero 50/5 - 440 V capacitors in stock near me and I couldn't get one from Home Depot, Lowes, Amazon, or an AC supply house until Monday.The Ace website showed one in Hammond (35 miles away).I called and the person that answered the phone verified that they had it and offered to hold it until I got there. Although I've never shopped at Dave's Ace Hardware before, when I walked in and mentioned I had called about a capacitor two different employees said "you're Kevin, right? We've got your part right here!"$27 and a 40 minute drive home and the AC is back in business. I couldn't be more pleased with the friendly and competent service I received today at Dave's Ace.

Went to HomeDepot paint department and after 15 minutes finally got some help guy said we don't have what you want. Didn't offer any other suggestions left there and went to Dave's. Walked in girl asked could she help. She was so very patient and kind dealing with me and my all my nerves. She was was amazing!!! I will be back. I will shop here before Lowes or HomeDepot any day!!!
