This evening after work. My wife and I went to buy a birthday gift for a family member. Wouldn't you know it we left the store with much more than we anticipated. We found great items for great prices. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The store was clean and organized.

New and improved. After searching all stores for a Bluetooth microphone I finally found one here at a great price. Store selections are wonderful in every dept. I ended up spending more then planned with no regrets. Enjoyable selection at reasonable pricing.

I am very disappointed in this store!! The store is full of employees that act like they have nothing to do! The store was a complete mess, the women’s bathroom was awful it was disgusting!! The cashier stayed in the only stall available for a good 15 minutes on her phone before realizing that I was waiting for her to finish! The prices are a joke on most of the items I got it was anywhere from. 3$ difference to a 5$ difference on the packaging and it said cheaper on the shelf…when I got home I went over everything that the price was wrong from the box to the shelf… I decided to just take back everything that I had bought that day just where the price wasn’t right…107$ for 2 bags!! I then they acted like that was against the law to return the items … the lady got the manager away from his super busy conversation with the other employees and he had such an attitude towards the fact I was coming back to return the stuff… I will never shop in that store again I remained very polite and respectful to them both but trust me they need to have manners and loose there attitudes .. cost nothing to smile and be polite!!!

So refreshing to have an enthusiastic conversation with a cashier. Now a days most stores, the person checking you out barely says 2 words. The lady who checked me out tonight was wonderful. She took the time to say my name. Tell me about they had to offer as far as drawings and coupons. This never happens now a days. The extra mile and courteous personality didn't go unnoticed.

Recently I purchased a rocker recliner from Hammond, La big lots. When I picked it up and my wife and I put it together, which was not easy since we are 79 & 78 respectively. It turned out to be a swivel rocker recliner instead of a plain rocker recliner. We knew we couldn’t pick up and put another together so we just swallowed our pride and kept it. This turned out to be a big mistake. The chair swiveled when she tried to get in and out using the arms. Since she already broke her arm last year, I decided to complain. I thought sure it was a lost cause. Then the district manager called from regional headquarters and said they would make it right. Sure enough two very nice young men delivered the correct chair and even put it together for us in the living room. All I have to say, if you want furniture get it from Big Lots, Hammond, they will make it right.Clay Barrilleaux, Holden, La

Had a great experience from the time we entered the store until the time we left. A very nice male employee went to the parking lot to get me a shopping cart when he noticed my hands full of merchandise. I never asked him to do this. Another nice young man noticed we were searching for something and he looked on the shelves in order to help. We ran into two female employees that inquired if there was anything they could help us with. The young female employee at the register was very friendly and also inquired if we found everything we were looking for. What an asset all of these fine employees are to your location. I will definitely shop here again!

This store is definitely a Big Lots.Ya know half empty shelves, others overflowing, that kind of dingy in the corners of shelves and the like that comes from years and years of neglect, piles of unorganized merchandise placed neatly on those same shelves (although the management team seems to be addressing this situation with a great deal of success, there were less piles and more organization...) I freaking love Big Lots!They have the tackiest inspirational wall hanging stocked just beside a super cute looking steam punk inspired 18inch wall clock...or that 8 cup Anchor measuring cup you've been looking for (Yeah! The heavy glass one!) Next to a shiny, shiny Moka pot and a set of 6 rainbow tinted tall 3oz shot glasses all for less than $25 of you disposable income. The clock might put your total over that $25, but wait... There's a coupon for new loyalty club members! So join the club and eat it too! If you need to do a whole big shop for groceries, go somewhere else (they have some of those too...but seriously.) If you want a fun retail therapy session head to Big Lots! They also have some really fun and surprisingly unique seasonal accoutrements. Oh and all the way in the back, you can also sign away your soul for rent to own furniture "6 months same as" eternal damnation. Do yourself a favor, save your coins up and buy the recliner outright instead of getting one recliner for the price of four. 😉👍

Definitely had some beautiful furniture i was ready to purchase. The young lady that's new that assisted me with the braids I forgot her name she was amazing with service. The problem was the store manager wanted to charge me $2999 for a twin sized childrens 5pc set that was listed in their magazine as a option to order that wasn't displayed in store. The sets instore were priced at $1899. I asked the young lady why the price is $1100 more its just a twin sized bed set. She said she didn't know why it's her 1st week and the manager also directed her to show me a set that I didn't want. I will not be spending my money there. This was my 1st and last experience there and I traveled 1hr to be disappointed.Your experience may be better then mines. I just refuse to accept a twin size bed set costs $3000 they have kind sized bed sets signed at $2499!

I like this store, just disappointed. One time I was there I was asked if I work in the health care field, which I do. They were giving discounts to healthcare workers. The cashier gladly gave me the discount after I explained my job. The next time I went and asked about that same discount, I was asked for an ID badge from my job. Sorry not all healthcare workers have badges... I told her this and she was curt and rude, told me well that's our policy. If it was such an issue why was I asked before and it was fine? She didn't even bother asking me what my job was, not all of us have badges! Otherwise I like the store, most employees are nice.

It was kind of bare compared to how it used to be, but I couldn't really find any of the baby items I needed. So, I wound up leaving and going to walmart.

I LOVED coming to this store. I decided to buy a recliner,the saleswoman was so easy going. She said it wasn’t in stock but I would get a call in the next few days being that a new shipment was coming and she would make sure she marked my recliner sold as soon as it got to the store.(I paid in full)Few days come,no phone call. I waited a few days and called. Lady stated that she had my recliner,that she told the guy to call me,but never did. I sent my son and brother in law up to the store to get it. She comes back and said the guy sold it. Offers me the floor model at a discounted price but refused to sell it to my son being that “she might want to come make sure nothing is wrong with it”. Then tells me they will call me the following Friday as my chair will be there.It’s Friday, no phone call,I was about to leave, but called. No recliner. This has been the BIGGEST headache. I’ll being going to get a full refund. I won’t be going back for furniture. Save your time and patience.

I love the Big Lots store in Hammond Louisiana, they sell some really nice furniture for less money then furniture stores, it's the perfect place to go if you need to buy household goods such as towels, drapes bedding..... you can also find some nice decorative pieces and they always have a big assortment of holiday merchandise

Who doesn't love Big Lots?! I define nearly eveything I need when I go! Plus their furniture is actually quite nice and sturdy! The prices are very reasonable and believe it or not the furniture is actually darn good quality!!! Haven't been disappointed yet and I've grew up shopping at Big Lots.

They sell from "big lots" of merchandise that is excess to the regular retail stores. Therefore you can never be sure what they offer. If you buy something today, it may never be available again. Prices are good and returns are easy.

This place has really gone downhill. Products were smashed and crumpled. Shelves in disarray and messy. I doubt that I will return. Our cashier was friendly though.

I'm a delivery driver and not a customer but Eric was extremely helpful unloading and very friendly. Although the dock is a bit unorthodox for a 53' trailer with swing doors, it's not terribly hard to get in and out.

All I can say if you went anywhere else but big lots then you get screwed. There furniture is good quality.Every time I go there I have a great experience.
