Bought the girls each a BB pistol to practice with before they upgrade to the s&w 500. I want them to know the right posture and positions before they get into kickback. Academy had a few options for the bb pistols. Had to take one back. It wasn't user-friendly. They swapped out for another option with no problem. Did not have the ammo I needed for stock, tho. I don't blame them for that. Overall satisfied.

Was gifted a gift card for academy & finally got the opportunity to go and look around . Was able to find a north face jacket on the clearance rack for $93 used the gift card and paid $43.67 . Not sure how much of a deal that $93 was but like the store but prices are fairly high, it reminded me of why I don’t go there on a regular basis .From the photos you can see my husband had a blast playing around in there with my son .

The service was terrible the cashier was rude noone welcomed us to the store and it looked like we were getting ripped off on the price and the manager didn't seem to care about what was going on and just stared at us never going to academy agene ever

This store has been a disappointment each time I come here. Website tell me item is in stock, salesperson tells me 2 in stock but when they look item is not here. Not the first time, very doubtful I will be back. Academy Sports in Hammond, get your act together!

Just purchased this woman pull that was 20 feet wide 48 inches deep and very very satisfied because it only cost us $299 when you compare that to Walmart big lots etc. academy sports seem to have much better deals especially when it came to above ground swimming pools.

Wonderful selection of everything i’m camping to swimming pools the fishing poles to guns and ammo. They even have different types of bass boats and lawnmowers.You’ll never find an unfriendly person to help you or assist you with your inquiries more selections.

I’ve shop at the Academy store in Hammond since it first open and not many problems with customer service until within the last year are so. I normally know what I’m going to purchased before I get there and this morning was no different. One of my reels malfunctioned this past weekend and I was going in to replace it (Shimano 150XG). I went straight to the counter in the back and made sure that one was in stock. I waited thinking someone would come by, I hit the customer service button a few times and waited. No one ever showed, I did walk down a couple of isles but did not see anyone. Bottom line is I can shop like most Americans and order the same reel on Amazon for a few dollars cheaper, free shipping and have it the next day. I tried to stay local with my fishing and hunting needs but I require a little better customer service than I received today.

Has great selection of Men's shirts, hats, socks, and jeans... was able to get entire outfit for a bday gift in one place... scored 2 Toddler outfits one for school uniform requirements... great shoes prices as well... and it was give or take on Women clothes

At Hammond, La. location, needed men's court tennis (pickleball) shoes. Asked employee, he said the more knowledgeable employee was in a meeting but will send him over. Within 5 minutes, another employee showed up and helped me with great, courteous service.

No customer service employees to assist shoppers. Check out line was wrapped almost around the entire store. Merchandise had incorrect pricing. My purchase was marked $44.99 but registered $119.99. Nothing was done to correct it at all & after that long wait in line, I wasn't about to do it again. Spent way more than I expected.

It's Academy. Great selection no matter what your into. Very clean, organized. Check out always moves quickly no matter how many folks are in line!Just a little pricey, but, that can be expected with chain stores.

I've been in there a few times and I always enjoy a place where I can go and find literally anything and everything that I need. I enjoy the variety of products that have from indoor to outdoor products. This is definitely my spot for all my outdoor sporting needs.

I actually love Academy but this was a terrible experience and it falls completely on the employees and the lack of motivation to do their job. Five Employees that were dazed and confused when presented with my online order to store pick up of a gas heater. We had to actually show them where it was and carry it to the front and wait for permission to leave. Five employees...Updating to 3 stars from 1 star bc I returned to the location and it was vastly different from my last experience simply bc I was greeted professionally on multiple occasions in different departments and I was offered help or assistance at least 5 times and they cashier that checked me out was freidly, polite and projected a positive and welcoming tone while offering even more assistance while going above and beyond his job requirements. I usually enjoy going to this store but this time I could've went without. From the time I walked in the door, the greeters didn't even speak because they were too busy having a conversation with other employees. After five minutes they asked if I needed help and I told them that an items listed as in stock was ordered and I was there to pick it up. After another 20 minutes they finally tell me that they didn't have the goal so I should just cancel the order. Wasted half if my day trying to get what I needed.

Could be better service at the check-out. Pushed through with no wait behind, bad card machine blamed on my bank choice, suggested it was my fault because I didn't immediately use the *what she called* the "wifi signal" on the card.Nonetheless, I found what I was looking for even though prices are removed\not updated\hidden on individual items. What's the game here? Had to download the app in the store so I could scan barcodes and so I could know what I was expected to pay at the register.Neat trick but folks want to know the cost when they pick up the item. Also wasn't able to see the sales on socks that I viewed at home online before I went to buy in person. There were no prices on the products? So no sales, huh?I don't want to be rushed through the checkout process and I wish to see the price of each product as it's rung up. Why can't I see this? Why do I have to ask at the register what the price is that been rung in?Hammond, Louisiana.
